| this was a cute episode, loved seeing Subaru begin to bond with Emilia as he saved her from the situation with Elsa. when Subaru was announcing his special request, I thought he had weird ideas with Emilia or the maids (which were introduced), but his response was surprising, and a good choice as well. even though he may have struggled at his work, he did his best;. loved the wholesome ending to the episode. |
| so his power isn't only applied when he dies... interesting. i'm very excited to see this all play out and get the answers to it all. i have a feeling that with his power and it restricting his ability to build his relationship with emilia this is going to end up being a rather emotional show |
| A lot of characters introduced in this episode!!! For starters, Rem!!!! She's a super popular character in the anime community, which is why I know her. Then we have Ram, Beatrice and Roswaal. Lol, Subaru chose to work in the mansion. Anyways things seem to be going well and then bam!!! He loops again!!! Someone probably killed him while he was asleep. Let's see what happens next!! |
| Wow the mansion looks dope and Rem and Ram seems rlly interesting enough and Beatrice is cute asf wtf but on the other hand Roswaal seems a bit untrustworthy but we'll see how this goes at the current pace. Just hoping Subaru dies lesser this time. |

| Subaru being overly audacious and callous is going to be the main source of comedy for this anime, I'd wager. Not my preference, but what can you do. Given that he woke up as a mere guest with healed wounds, Subaru either time leaps randomly outside of dying, or someone killed him while he slept. Probably the latter, with either the clown guy or the maids killing him. |

| This episode was a slog. Subaru spent a good portion of the episode dwelling on past failures. I suppose this was an attempt to establish his emotional state, but his incessant inner monologue about "dying again" was tiresome. I get that you are frustrated. Let's move on. This episode stretches Subaru's attempts to change the timeline. While some repetition can build tension, here it feels like we're watching the same mistakes play out with minor variations. Then comes the predictable cliffhanger, the reveal of the invisible monster that attacks Rem. This is a classic "jump scare" cliffhanger. Loud noises! Such a common anime tropes, so predictable. So tired. We all know Subaru will "Return by Death" again, making the cliffhanger pointless. Overall, this episode is where the show runs out of a steam of initial shock of Subaru's ability. Do they have anything beside that? We'll have to wait and see in future episodes, but this repetition doesn't raise my hopes much. The slow progress is just getting frustrating. |

| Who killed Subaru in his sleep, or rather, how did he die?? This episode, we were introduced to four new characters, Rem, Rem's sister, Betty and Roswaal L. Mathers. It's revealed that Roswaal wants to make Subaru a spy, but what for? He tells this to Rem's sister as she sits on his lap. Also, now we know the state of the kingdom, Lugunica: it has no ruler because he is "in hiding" and things are sort of shaky. Emilia is one of the candidates to become the 42nd ruler of the kingdom and her insignia indicates her worthiness. |
