I know I'm desperately wanting this but i would ask nonetheless, there is so much hidden potential in 86 if u read the Light Novel, but why isn't there a new season already, looking at news articles i can find i can say it fed me enough info that made me so desperate in wanting a new season Like i really love how the story is presented and the Season 1 with 2 cours just barely scrapped the Surface of that story and the ending was such a huge cliffhanger (regarding the villain was still present aka. The Legions), it still poses a threat to surrounding countries, but with that out of the way the ending was executed beautifully. I'm not glazing it by any means cause i think its not a perfect series by any means and none of other series are perfect as well cause i think every series has their pros and cons, but i think the emotional rollercoaster and especially when u enter the Light novel territory and me having red past Volume 11 now on 12 ( I'm constantly shivering from the thoughts) If u guys have any thoughts if there is going to be a season 2, even if it is not in the near future please share ur thoughts below ππ |

@Hickykissy ngl I'm still going to wait while probably giving other series a chance, eventhough i know that nothing will give me the same feeling i had when i watched 86..... watched other series with other genre's and i don't think any other series is going to touch my sensitive side as much as 86 Hopefully they are still willing to give this series a shot, so much potential... |

@0__Dante__0 there is so much potential, the season 1 cour(part) 1 & 2 barely touched 86's main story, i suggest giving LN a looksie, u can start at Volume 4 after the watching the Series.... the amount of developement and world building is just massive |

I doubt it's gonna get another season. they give trash like MHA 7 seasons but 1 season for masterpieces like 86. I plan on picking up the novels in the next few weeks since there won't be another season |

@mccreepyy exactly dude.... I'm also not glazing it as well, every series has their pros and cons including 86, but tbh i saw the ratings on a couple of platforms and they seem to be pretty decent enough to consider them actually continuing it and on top of that i don't see why they won't make a season 2 of this wonderful series... |

I don't think season 2 is coming. Because the part where the anime ends in part 2 is ideal for the finale. Apart from that, there are parts of 86's light novel that are very difficult to adapt after the anime. I mean, the adaptation for the first 3 volumes is really good, some scenes that are very difficult to understand while reading are very well explained in the anime. But in volume 4 and onwards, there are scenes that are more difficult than the first 3 volumes. Some battle scenes that were very, very difficult for the A-1 Pictures studio to adapt. In fact, A-1 Pictures studio may not be making the 2nd season in order not to spoil the quality of the anime. So maybe they are afraid that they will not be as good as s1. I think it's better if season 2 doesn't come. 86 is not a very well-known anime anyway. I'm afraid that if it becomes known after S2 comes, it will be lynched by a lot of toxic people. I think it's much better for 86 to remain like an unknown gem. :) |

@Alpha994 Thats probably True and i can see where u are coming from and i do think that what u are saying justifies the reason why A1 isn't willing to continue it, having red through the LN itself i do agree there are couple of scenes especially fighting scenes where it can be really challenging for A1 to adapt and animate. But at the same time i can't fathom for them to just give up on it's potential just because of a couple of challenges, cause its just an opportunity squandered IMO, ending is good and all but there is this cliffhanger of what i said which was the Legions, they still pose a threat for each countries and their abilities aren't really explored and i feel like there is so much potential from the LN itself.... which more or less doesn't really make sense if they would abandon it completely, they are just literally scratching the surface of the whole story |

I agree with that, but the problem is that there's a possibility that the anime might not be as good as season 1. So it's better not to do it at all than to risk it by doing it badly. But if they know they can make it as good as s1, but they still don't, either because of the ending of p2, or like you said, they throw the story away |

A1 Pictures are not the people deciding if 86 will get a sequel or not. Dengeki Bunko (Kadokawa) are the ones making the decision. Dengeki Bunko do make sequels but very rare unless the novels are as popular as SAO. 86 novels sell well in Japan but nowhere near the level of SAO, Apothecary Diaries nor Slime Isekai. Better to read the LNs than to wait for anime sequel~ Well, the LNs will be ending at volume 15~ |

The Legions), it still poses a threat to surrounding countries, but with that out of the way the ending was executed beautifully. I'm not glazing it by any means cause i think its not a perfect series by any means and none of other series are perfect as well cause i think every series has their pros and cons, but i think the emotional rollercoaster and especially when u enter the Light novel territory and me having red past Volume 11 now on 12 ( I'm constantly shivering from the thoughts) If u guys have any thoughts if there is going to be a season 2, even if it is not in the near future please share ur thoughts below ππ There’s still a chance, but If it was gonna happen soon they would’ve probably announced it by now considering it’s been a while since nier automata finished, which is what the 86 team was working on. If we don’t get any news in the next couple of months we might be waiting for a long time, seems like A1 are picking up the pace well A1 pictures better pick up 86 before I commit 18/22 (9/11 x2) |

Better to read the LNs than to wait for anime sequel~
Well, the LNs will be ending at volume 15~

yep nothing offical yet people just assume it will probably end in volume 15 cause I think (not sure if I remember this part correct) but I think somewhere it was said the author "ATLEAST plans to continue it till volume 14 or 15" |
