even with this awful production quality, this show was really enjoyable. Where to continue?

the animation got really spotty at times but its so unique and the story telling was at first kinda confusing, but towards the end it made sense and now after watching a season recap i appreciate the time skip/jumping a lot. This was a very interesting watch

now, where to keep going? Ive read the manga was bad, but i dont really like the idea of slogging through the first 5 volumes of the ln either
Can i just watch videos like this up till volume 5 and jhst start at 6? https://youtu.be/m-F8fx8wNmg?si=tSubBM3OE2f5eQQ_

How far along is even the manga? And is it really that bad?

overall id rate the anime 7.5/10

I've read the first 10 volumes so far and I'm pretty sure you'll have no problem jumping straight into volume 6 of the light novel. The main thing I would caution about is the author likes to write in circles at times, not really in a bad way, but basically resaying the same thought in different ways while the MC works through things in her head. It's also a slower pace than the show was.

U can start from volume 6 of the light novel and be fine but I would recommend reading from the beginning. The adaptation skips some stuff and the experience is different too

I suggest read LN from vol1. Anime skips some scenes and characters that are important innlater volumes, and the rpg element is quite detailed and enjoyable in the first 5 volumes. One of my favorite light novels.

i watched this guys video on spider isekai a long time ago, the video was well researched. so he will likely point out plenty of details in anime and novel difference. however first 5 volumes should be read anyway because its all action packed hype solo leveling, and you don't just listen to some guy talking about it. Anime did a good job, especially the VA. but the book is better.

Sorry, but I won't watch a 30 minute video.
You could technically start from volume 5-6, but just know that reading from the beginning is the optimal way to go.

@Kitsune_089

Honestly most of the time I recommend to read from the start since switching mediums from anime to novel means the experience is different and not much to do with the actual content differences. If you have no problem with that then switch directly since even if the anime cut some content you will be fine to go directly to vol6. But for the best experience, start from the beginning (this goes for any series in general, not just this one)

If you liked it enough I'd recommend to read it from the start, overall the feeling and detail in the novel its better

I started reading it around the time chapter 3 aired, and remember feeling disappointed at the pace in the anime, it felt like they rushed it
