| I didn't really like the look of Darwin when they first showed him, kind of an ugly dog- but once again the show makes a point about it that felt really strong. The dog is waiting on that bridge for his lost master, a letterbee named Elena-san. (He was incredibly cute as a puppy when she found him) Elena has died, I didn't catch how, she basically abandoned him and he kept waiting there for her to return. Lag & Niche's job was basically to deliver him to where she was buried. Once he found it, he died- the uncoiling of his tail and it then going flat symbolized death. As much as I adore this show, it is extremely depressing. The dark atmosphere and melancholy is so heavy and the ending music is woeful. I can only take about 2 episodes a day, it's too sad. |
