Naori is better. Like at everything. But Rumi isn't bad.

Tbh that whole "older sister" thing is just stuff the author made up. It really ended at ep4/5, after that it was never a problem and the author/Naori is just making it up to put blame onto Naori. Also, she's not disrespectful to otaku stuff, she's just indifferent due to her lack of interest. Naori has been more disrespectful to the "normies." Anyways, the things she does make her to be perceived as an asshole because she's dumb and impulsive. Point being that her intention isn't to be an asshole, so in normal situation she's fine. Naori, on the other hand, actively tries to be an asshole a lot of the time.

That's...blatantly not true? She was doing it even up to this final episode and Naori rightly called her out on her bs (as well as Rumi calling out Naori on some of her bs as well). The whole "I'm just looking out for my sister" shtick just comes from a place of arrogance. She might not see it that way but that's exactly what it is.

She quite literally told Naori she hates that stuff. It's more than just indifference.

This is also true. Hers comes from a place of insecurity but yea...she's also disrespectful to "normies" and sports people in general.

The thing is...this doesn't make it any better. Whether it's intentional or not, an asshole is an asshole. Plain and simple. Funnily enough, you can make a solid argument that a lot of the times Naori actively tried to be an asshole is a direct result of Rumi's dumb impulsive actions. You can say she just accelerated the breakup with Jun to make herself feel better and make Jun feel bad, but who's the one who put them in that situation in the first place, due to their own selfish and arrogant mindset?

As I said I think author/Naori are making by the 'older sister' thing, hence Naori calling Rumi out was nonsense to me. I didn't see anything past ep 4/5 that actually indicated that this was still a problem.

For me at least, intentions matter because Rumi might be an asshole in certain situations, but Noari will because she uses being an asshole as a problem solving technique, but I can't say she's wrong to use it when Jun is such a pushover, so it works every time.

Case in point to why it doesn't matter is when she got mad at Jun because he didn't fucking read her mind and try to stop her from going on the date with that other guy. She was unquestionably an asshole during this ep (and even after it) even if it wasn't her intention necessarily to be one. And that was worse than anything Naori did in this show imo. She literally gaslit him into thinking he did something wrong and sent this dude down a spiral.

I'm surprised this many people don't realise how much of a manipulative bitch Naori is.
Girl is a walking red flag. This was seeing since early in the anime, but last 2 eps are just... good lord.

That whole dilemma was resolved half-way through the next episode. It only looked like a big deal because the episode ending on a cliffhanger. He definitely did not go down a spiral. Also, because it was not intentional, they both apologize, and have an honest discussion about it where Rumi makes it clear she's just going to meet him for some club things. Jun's friend and Naori ended up making it a huge deal to force Jun to speak his feelings, but that's not on Rumi.

The worst thing Rumi did was in ep1 by starting this whole mess. If you want to argue that she's worse just based on that, sure. I don't think it made her an asshole or that it come out of a selfish/arrogant attitude, but it was definitely the worst thing in the show.

It is Naori for me. Not only is she prettier and more cheerful, but she seems to be a great person to hang out, given how nerdy she is.
I also love how aggressive she is in trying to get with Jun. I really like a girl that is that forward.
That said, she's a schemer and manipulates people to get what she wants. I'm not saying she's evil, but she definitely has some issues with her personality.

Rumi on the other hand disappointed me. She's selfish and, honestly, pretty dumb for breaking up with Jun for the reasons she did.
I found her boring, personality-wise and even annoying, because she never seems to catch on what other people are doing/thinking and is too stubborn. She seems completely socially inept at times.

All in all neither of them are perfect, but I'm willing to give Naori the benefit of doubt.
