Cold open with them prepping, get a flash back scene of Hoshino and Nonomi finding Shiroko. (into an immediate ad)

Trinity mobs just staring at Hifumi blabber on while they hold rifles and mortar shells.

PS68 really took out the Kaiser PMC Director's Goliath... on accident... by running out of fuel for their helicopter...

Hoshino just having a sad monologue to herself while everyone is blasting their way to save her.
Weird transition for the monologue to finish, the explosion happening, Hoshino tipping over and then suddenly back to PS68.

Edgy past Hoshino with a deep voice is nice to listen to.

I was wondering how tf they caught Hoshino from falling in the bottomless pit... but Ayane's drone coming in clutch.

Cute ending with everyone reuniting.

Interesting...
They showed the 2nd PV immediately right after the credits, hinting at season 2?

Overall, anime wasn't the best, but it was above average.
Feels like it's hard to really adapt the game into an anime then have people compare it one-to-one.
If they do plan to do a 2nd season, I am curious to see how they improve on the animation and story telling overall.

Anime was allround extremely bad compared to the game.

Animation and art sucked hard, not to mention they removed sensei from lots of key scenes, his relations ship with aru and mutsuki is basically non existent.

5/10 just cause they included the iori feet scene.

My Comment About This Last Episode Of Season 1

It's That So Many Details On This So Many Difference On Anime Shown Here Than Game It's Different But Has Same Story ...

The Fighting Scenes As Well Is Good...

And Where The Student Help Of Course Hina As Well My Girl...

Love Seeing Her Fighting Even Just A Little. Not On Game Not Shown Really Her Fighting ... Of Course Love The Others As Well Showing Up ...

Problem Solver 68 Arrived Funny Just The Helicopter No Fuel.. Haha

Love Seeing Them For Final Episode Mitsuki,Kayoko,Haruka,And Aru...

Prefect Team As Well Ako, Chinatsu , Iori , And My Girl Hina...

And Hifumi ( I Mean Faust ) As Well With Trinity Students... Love Them Showing Up On Final Episode

and of Course The Abydos Ayane , Serika , Shiroko , Nonomi And Hoshino Im Glad You Back

Welcome Home Hoshino : )

And The Past Really Shown Past Of Nonomi ,Shiroko , Hoshino On It ( That Scene Didn't Shown On Global Yet , Just Jp I Got Spoiled On That Scene So Im Not Surprised But Im Surprised They Shown On Anime Tho ... That I Didn't Shown In Global Yet They Show It Haha Dang ) ... And
Really When I Watch It's Just Fast Than On Game I Slow Finish It Haha It's Just Different But Still Happy With It Haha That's All

No Teased About Season 2 (Except From Other Characters Teased Add The Twins And Noa ... )

It's Low To Have A Season 2 But Im Hoping So ..

I Hope For Season 2 And More Improvement For Animations As Well Like Compare To The Game... I Don't Mind How Many Years To Have A Season 2 ( I Hope When I Still Alive Of Course Haha ) Just Improve The Animation ...

I Cannot Denied This There's Some Animations And The Quality On The Anime Is Good And It's Not As Well I Hope That Details Got Improve For Next Season ... And Excited For BD Release If It Got Improve On BD Version ... The Season 1 If Have A Difference...

Excited For Season 2 I Hope

Thank You For Completing Blue Archive The Animation Season 1

As A Blue Archive Player Global Since Day 1 I Love This So Much 100%

Wanna Rewatch This Whole Season 1 That Im Not Waiting Per Next Week.. If I Have Time To Rewatch This I Do It.. .And Fished It One Day Wanna See Or Like I Wanna Analyst It Haha Lol ...

That's All.. ^-^...

I was so happy to see everyone come to help
I wonder if Shiroko's past was revealed in the game at this point too, or it's an anime-original thing that connects to the new parts of the main story that have been releasing for some time now. Really cool.
I came to love Hoshino's character so much, can't wait to read this part in the game.
At the end it says that The Foreclosure Task Force is now officially recognized.

Really enjoyed this one, but ngl, playing the actual game massively pumps up the enjoyment (at least for me), so if I hadn't started playing it when the anime started, it would've been just okay. And yeah, I think the story is told better in the game, and it's better to experience it there (I myself first watched the anime episodes, then read the part of the story that was covered that episode). This anime is mainly for fans to see the characters moving and talking, and an advertisement for the game (it worked).
8/10
Would be really cool to see the other volumes adapted too.

My weekly report about my progress in the game or something idk:
I had to spark for Swimsuit Izuna :')

this episode didnt hit me hard as the game did. one of the reason is the Target for Love song. I really wish they put that in the background, but sadly that didnt happen.
I started screaming when Faust, Prefect and PS68 came. That moments were great.

Overall, this season felt more like a fan service to the game players, rather than inviting new people (especially the OP). But I still wish they added the Prolouge and explanation about kivotos and the girls...

Either way, I still love this. It's my favourite gacha game, so I'm loving this no matter what. Now, I really hope a season 2 gets announced to adapt V2.

Well, is a gacha game adaptation, so far as that considered it was solid enough I guess.

They included scenes from Volume F, I imagine to introduce more drama and questions for Shiroko in anime onlies.

I hope if S2 is announced, it adapts Vol3. Vol2 Ch1 is by far the weakest in terms of writing, so it needs Ch2 to at least salvage a bit the viewers, but without some info gained in Vol 3, that chapter won't make sense, and is not like Vol3 has to be mandatory after 2 since everything pre Vol F can be taken in any order outside of Vol 1.

Also, because Vol 3 is so many leagues above Vols 1 and 2 that is the only way to redeem the story for anime onlies instead of just sounding as the local crazy fanboy that insists the writing in the game is top notch while something as mid as Vol 2 is on screen.

@EcchiGodMamster There are other evil sexy ladies and the story is really getting excellent once we reach the Eden Treaty arc.
That 1st season (or Volume 1 in the game) was just showing the cool vibe.

Yeah, the ending is the best part because now its over.

still never explained all the halos, biblical references, why girls seem immortal, etc

nothing at all was given to the watcher. And without any consequences (not even one bullet wound?) every fight in this dumpster fire had no meaning.

3/10. maybe it was a pleaser for the people who play it, but honestly it was sub mid. if it had even an ounce of world building it would've at least been a 5.

@EcchiGodMamster She is the only one you can actually fit in what you are asking without "buts" (except Kokuriko, but that's because we are still in ch1 of Hykkakyou).

Actual spoilers:

The rest of the villains are either robots, unidentified (suppossedly) humans but males or straight up monsters.

This anime was a mistake, I love Blue Archive, its my favorite gacha, but if they're going to do a Blue Archive anime at least make it good, I'll not lie to myself and say that I liked this just because I'm a fan of the game, they have not used any music from the game at all, some of the anime original music was unbearable to listen, the animation was mid at best and at some moments it seemed like the staff did now know how to tell the story, specially regarding Sensei's participation. I hope they do not continue with this, I don't wanna see Mika being doing bad in a Treaty of Eden arc.

@CorbanEsp : don't forget the sexy 7 prisoners !

Anyways, they could have done better.
Like making a better introduction without immediately rushing into the volume 1.
Because they could have presented a lot better the settings with Sensei and the starting characters with Rin, Wakamo plus the girls (Chinatsu, Hasumi, Suzumi and Yuuka trying to keep the city under control).

That way it would have been more beneficial to accept how the world of Kivotos works, how Sensei helps and is percieved by their students, and the viewer could have embraced the cute/cunny/laid back ambiance of the show without suffuring the rush of the main story and asking themselves why the halos, why this why that.

@Raratah Vol 2 Ch2 is pretty good and I enjoyed it.
That said, the anime has been handled poorly and has so little momentum outside the gacha players that Vol2 Ch1 would kill it entirely and bury any chance of Vol 3 getting adapted.

Vol2 Ch2 takes place after Eden Treaty anyway, so it would be better to have Vol 3, which is the better written of the 4 and the one everyone has been thinking of when selling anime onlies the quality of BA story.
With Vol3 out of the way they can adapt both chapters from Vol2 and the lore dump from Vol3 will help non-players.

Welcome home Hoshino-senpai. Not as good as the gooners hyped it up to be, but still one of the better gacha game adaptations. I still don’t know what the hell story is here, but the girls were cute, some solid action and a nice CGDCT vibe. Clearly made with people who have played the game in mind, but I still had fun.

Problem Solver 68 and the others coming to help the Abydos girls was so cool. I’m a sucker for the OP playing during hype fight scenes and they were definitely hype. Aru my beloved.. you looked amazing today.

Hoshino flashbacks always manage to make me feel horrible. You can see she took Yume senpai’s whole way of talking, dressing and carrying herself after she died, likely out of guilt? I kinda would wanna see her talk and sct like her old self with the Abydos girls. .. just happy she’s finally free of the past now and moving forward with her kouhai. The last thing Yume would want is for her to continue languishing in pain.

Overall still some story holes that I didn’t get, but a fun watch and up there with the better gacha game adaptations. Hoshino’s arc was very satisfying and I’ll miss watching this on a weekly basis.

Who is sensei? The black thing mentioned about they come from outside of Kivotos? What is Schale? Why sensei go to that school? Why only sensei can access the Arona tablet?

Why Abydos is so important? Why they still want to shutdown the school after they can experiment on Hoshino? Why the student stay on that Abydos? How the school even get water with their condition almost submerged by sand?

Why sensei trying to keep their good guy doesn't do crime but invaded on the Kaiser property and even destroyed their properties, it's even worse crime than stealing.

Where is Hoshino's senpai? Did she die or got captured? Why Hoshino became happy go lucky after she disappeared?

What is the halo above the girls head? Why only girls have halo? Hoshino mentioned about hitting her halo if they meet next time, does this mean destroying the halo will kill them?

Really confusing anime with many things unexplained. If they make another season, I hope they explain Schale which I'm more interested in than Abydos.

So it is really funny that you say that. I have only been playing BA for about a year now. I experienced Vol2 all at once. Ch1 and Ch2 back to back. I was not aware that Vol3 released before Vol2 Ch2. Now everyone's dislike for Vol2 Ch1 makes sense to me. Vol2 is WAY better when you experience both chapters back to back.

@LeonLanford Ya welcome to Blue Archive. Half of what you asked barely gets explained in the game itself. The world building is very vague. A good chunk of what you asked is addressed in the prologue, which they failed to adapt in the anime. The other chunk of your questions are still debated in the game community.

@LeonLanford Next seasons, depending on the order of adaptation, would focus on Millenium for Vol 2, Trinity, Gehenna and Arius for Vol 3 and SRT and Valkyrie for Vol 4.
Abydoss will only be mentioned in Vol 3 due to Hifumi's actions coming after her.

I'm answering this so you get the knowledge, but the anime should have been the one to explain the bare minimum and it failed.

First paragraph is answered in the prologue, which the studio seemed to deem unnecessary and only showed a still frame in chapter 2, ruining a lot of introductions for anime onlies.

  • Sensei is the player, there's no more to it. Blue archive is very meta in some things, there's also a shit ton of references at things like whaling to the point that sensei uses his credit card during some moments in different parts of the story, which result in the only times in the story you are able to use custom teams instead of the given by the story.

  • Both sensei and the members of Gematria come from outside of Kivotos. This makes sense since you, the player, are entering the game world from our world.
  • Schale is a special department created by the general student council president with extrajudicial powers with the intention of it to mediate between academies. Schale has the power to call to any student, any school at any moment and they have to answer to that duty above all else. But sensei doesn't abuse this.
  • This was actually explained half-heartedly. Ayane had been sending request for supplies and help to the general student council for a while. In his first day in the office, sensei asked Arona what request were made that the general student council ignored, and he picked abydoss due to nobody looking at them.
  • Arona tablet is a piece of ancient technology that only those who have clearance granted by another ancient artifact and know the activation key can use. The president left them to sensei before dissappearing and is the only reason he is not dead. The anime fails to portray it, but the tablet does more things than be cute and search on the internet.

The part about abydoss is Vol F territory.

  • Buried in the abydoss deserts are some ancient technology weapons, vehicles and items. Kaiser knows that and wanted to take them.
  • The school is the government of a district. By shutting down the school, Kaiser would become the de-facto ruler of the Abydoss autonomous region. This was explained in the anime.
  • The experiments were a Gematria thing, not aligned with the school takedown planned by Kaiser.
  • The explanation for this was released on JP server this month, can't answer it yet since haven't read it.
  • Only a part (although growing) of Abydoss is desertified. The rest of the district is connected to the rest of Kivotos and get normal appliances.

Sensei's paragraph... well, their version of sensei is like that.
Doubt it counts to you, but overall in-game sensei tries to lecture the girls to differentiate good from bad, but will always choose the option that benefit the students. Also, as someone above the law due to his condition as director of Schale, he can pretty much get away with almost anything.

Hoshino's past was released this month in JP so can't answer that yet, but theoretically Yume is dead.

The halo... a contentious point since it hasn't been fully revealed.

  • The halo above their head identifies them as natural residents of Kivotos. It confers them a generic above average resistance to almost anything from fatigue to damage, and acts as some kind of lifeline. If you ask me, the Halos are a result of ancient technology and related with the seven Konas in the sky.
  • There are other entities apart from the girls that have Halos, but they don't appear in Vol 1.
  • Yes, destroying a Halo kills a student. This will be brought in Vol 3 during Seia's assassination along with a detailed explanation of the most efficient ways to do so.

There's no much more about Schale. Is just an organization.
Imo the interesting parts are Gematria, the nameless priest and the Chroma.

Overall it's not good. It makes me appreciate the FGO adaptation a lot more despite its flaws when something like this comes out. The animation is super mediocre at best and that's not even the worst thing about this series.

The anime adaptation Sensei is the very definition of a cardboard protagonist. He adds nothing to the story. You can take Sensei out from most of the combats and everything would still go the same. Though it won't be fair not to mention how weak the story is even in the game compared to later Volumes so I guess the anime did kind of well given what they had to work with?

Not to say it's not enjoyable, I actually enjoy watching it a lot before I sleep. The magic simply wears off once I start using my brain.

6/10.

well, this is an adaptation of a gacha game so I can't expect much from the adaptation, but at least I enjoyed watching this, seeing the interactions of the characters made me feel
good watching this.

hopefully we can meet the Abydos members again in the future, hopefully they can adapt the peak story in the game.
