| The Internet will never change unless it becomes heavily regulated, and with how savvy the average individual is and how many different sects of generational businesses and governments have come to depend upon it, I do not ever see heavy regulation being a possibility beyond what it already does, as the ultimate goal is user retention and having it be a relatively wild and free space (or at least have the illusion of being a free space) is more or less inviting to the general public. That said, there have been some obvious paradigm shifts that have occurred over the past 30 years online and the amount of politicization, especially in the last two decades, has brought about a significant change in user correspondences. That can be chalked up partially to a generational shift, I think. At some point, I can foresee an attempt to recreate the Internet and its new bastardization being pushed as the best thing since sliced bread, but I truthfully do not know that that has any chance of occurring in my lifetime. | Illusion had a long and storied history before their recent bankruptcy. They were THE 3D eroge company. I stopped by their headquarters in Yokohama last summer and saw what looked like an abandoned office, and a month later they announced their closure. 16bit Sensation is an anime that at least hints at the decline of the industry.
