Is this an isekai series? Whether it's a minor or major detail, I'd like to know upfront either way. Or if it isn't, how does it compare to your average standard isekai from recent years? I'm probably going to end up giving the first episode a watch later today, but am behind on a number of series and so, am trying not to start too many new ones this winter season out of the gate.

I'm not opposed to isekai on principle or anything, but already have one for this season I will probably end up continuing. I thought this was more classic high fantasy, but sometimes looks and descriptions can be misleading.

you could say he's an isekai, I mean he was reincarnated as a skeleton.

Nah, it's a straight up fantasy story.

Well, the world, characters, and cliches used are nothing too different from an Isekai...
The only distinction would be the protagonist, his power, and the fact that he's not really OP, but simply experienced and knowledgable as an adventurer, despite being weak.

I kinda have mixed opinion about Episode 01 tho... It seems like they adapted most of the uninteresting thoughts the protagonist has in the Light Novel, and it makes the episode boring.

It is just a reincarnation story, isekai would be him getting sent to another world.

when did he got reincarnated? it's his body, it's same as Brook (from One Piece) and even if he got reincarnated you can't say Isekai because he didn't get reincarnated in another world. Learn first what is the meaning of the world you are saying.

I don't see the necessity of your last statement. its very rude. but you're right, he was reincarnated but not necessarily in another world but you gwt my point.

It's neither Isekai or Reincarnate...

The dude is still in the same world, same body, just without the Flesh, LOL.

Imagine if you got your hand cut off and then a doctor put it back together with other stuff into a cyborg hand then say, "My hand got Isekai'd or Reincarnated" That's not how it work... lol

Or saying a Zombie series or movie is Isekai or Reincarnate... such as saying Resident Evil is one of those genre, try it and the fan base would streamroll you, LOL.

.

The only extra thing in here is, MC somehow obtained "monster evolution" that most "mob monsters" have in RPG.

I'd say fantasy and reincarnation but not isekai.
It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines
and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it,
is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service.

No, Isekai requires another world from the original starting place, it's literally what the word means.

it's just a Fantasy.

Even if he technically died, the correct term would be resurrected, as it is still both his body and his mind. If it were his body without his mind, it would be reanimation. If it were his mind with some other body, it would be reincarnation.
