Good Episode.
Ruby is following ai's footsteps also trying to do stuff shes couldnt do because of her shortcomings and early passing away on her previous life, understandable but shes being a little naive and careless tbh in her drive for being an idol, even after knowing what happened to her mom.
Miyako is being a great mom to both of the kids, she really took charge of both the childrean and the agency raising them, taking deciisons for them but also giving them freedom to choose their own paths. i love her growth from first epsiode.
Aquas development is interesting as he still is focused on finding the father and doing so many cover ups and work load to just infiltrate the entertainment industry on a higher level but still also looking out for Ruby at the same time, even though he goes overboard at times (sis con coming to play too xD ) but after experiencing first hand what happened to ai its understandable. Also he is using his talents well and understands his shortcoming but still keeps pursuing in his main goal.
I love the director even more now, he gives the right words aqua needs to hear, neither praising him too much nor criticising either but just with the proper push. Also love directors mom and his dynamics with her, gave me a good chuckle.
We finally see Kana grown up, i love her voice and eye design. I am interested to see how she progresses in the storyline cause honestly speaking she didnt stand out much amongst other characters in the first episode, but i hope to see her have a good development as well. (that baking soda licking part cracked me up, adorable and funny)

Loved the opening Song by yoasobi another banger of a track especially the line used from ai at the end "its not a lie, i love you" , hits the feels for real. Also the ed is amazing as well, eye candy visuals and the lyrics with the perfect voice, queen bee hit it out of the park with this one.

Great stuff overall. looking forwart to next episode

The start of this episode is usual a life but it just open for the ep3. The only thing is it not really excited as the first one and the manga. Watever, still a masterpiece

Great 2nd episode. Obviously it couldn’t top the 1st one but let’s see this story play out.

I can see that some people may not like the mc Aqua, but I can understand why he wouldn’t want his sister to be an idol, and he gave her the most logical reason though not like that would stop her. I’m glad that her situation seems a bit better by signing with the family studio, but I guess we’ll have to see how successful Ruby can be.

In Aqua’s case, I’m quite sure he’s gonna return to acting as it was Ai’s wish for him before her death, but the “behind the scenes” career he was willing to settle for does make sense for his revenge purpose. Also, he’s just too good looking to not be front and center. I wish some of Ruby’s cheerfulness can rub off on him though because the poor boy needs it.

Also, the OP is a banger

Like the first episode, animation, sound design and v/a were all on point, however I just couldn't get immersed into this episode, I feel like there was a bit too much rehashing at the start, too much exposition delivered through narration and the overall content was just not interesting enough to keep me engaged. I kept skipping through parts because the dialogue was so bland and cliche.

I was expecting a tone down as it would be rather hard to follow up quite the triple-length first episode. But instead of instantly switching to some SoL with revenge in the background, it managed to keep the ball rolling with the 10+ year time jump (should be about 12 if they're starting JP high school now). Both twins have been affected by the murder of their mother, and have grown up with quite the different personalities - although it is also likely to be due to how they were in their past lives.

Ruby adored her mother and is now older than she got to live previously, so aiming for Idoldom was a given. Aqua is in an interesting place. He's vowed revenge on those who were instrumental in guiding the stalker to Ai, but what's his reasoning? Killing his mother, or killing someone he admired and wanted to help succeed? Or the fact that he's twice been denied the promise he made to Ai to ensure she had healthy chilldren? - first when he was killed as the doctor, and now her not being able to see her children grown and healthy.

It's nice to see Aqua being the calculating intelletual with an edgy vibe, but it'll be nice to see if he allows himself to open up and enjoy the revenge downtime with his classmates in school. Wonder if he'll be pressured into the performing arts by Baking Soda-san and dwelling on Ai's final question to him "will you become an actor?".

As an anime-only, this has to be the most anticipated episode for me in quite awhile: because like, where do you go after that first episode? What direction will it take? Will it live up to the stage it has set? And the simple answer is... yes. This story shows no signs of slowing down; Ai's death will be echoed throughout and will influence the events of the lives of her children, a daughter who wants to follow in her footsteps, and a son who wants to protect his sister from the same fate that Ai suffered. I feel like Doga Koba is going to put every last ounce of love and care they have into this show.

I for one really want to wait until this season finishes airing and then watch it all once, but idk if I have that kind of self-control

Kana is so cute now! Aqua and Miyako's determination to protect Ruby is admirable too, although they're on different levels lol. Aqua is scary with his determination to protect Ruby and avenge Ai!

Great episode, Aqua being super protective is really scary lol. So happy that Roby will follow her Ai's steps finally and become an idol. Op and Ed so attractive really loved it. Do I see Aqua acting like a child when he shouldn't be one? the director and his mother comedy is truly unique XD.

This new episode was so beautiful!! The opening, the ending song, everything was so great. I loved the brotherly love between Aqua and Ruby, even though Aqua didn't show it that much to Ruby, he loves her and cares for her, he's just afraid of letting Ruby become an idol because of what hapenned to their mother

Oh no, I can see this devolve into idol antics instead of focusing on actually finding the father.

There's certainly no beating Perfect Blue when it comes to the Idol stalker thing. Oshi no Ko is a huge step down from that. The show thinks it's super smart, but then it spells things out for the viewers as though they're children. The whole idols and actors are a lie thing is still a bit annoying as a core theme. Yeah we know, everyone knows this. Bit surprised this is based off a seinen manga. Having said that the anime is still entertaining and I do like it.

Director guy and his mum are the best characters.

Good ep! Definitely a calmer one after that brilliant first long ep/movie XD
Aqua is totally gonna become an actor again.

I wonder how long this series goes for? Will one season be everything? Keen to see more! :)

I'm still conflicted as to whether I want to drop this anime or not. I still feel cheated, and then this episode decides to drop a cliffhanger on us.

i mean after the timeskip, ruby sounds a bit different now so well
also if they are just publicly hoshino now, isnt someone going to MAYBE draw the connection that they're actually ai's children
you know what would be really funny is if you had an anime where everyone was actually reincarnated, but nobody tells everyone else because of reasons
do people actually go around scouting people in public?

Anyway, this episode felt more like your typical ep 1 where you set up the introductions and stuff, but its very infuriating because nothing really happened.

I'm gonna end up "one moar episode" until I end up watching all the episodes now are they?
"Aqua" definitely has a personality all right, and ruby...
Unfortunately I think the fact of the matter is right now, the combination of ruby and aqua just isnt enough to carry the entire anime by itself because they decided to hurr durr.
If anything, the episode/anime is just too depressing.
Honestly I have no idea, they sure used a lot of "flashbacks" to ai this ep, but im still (all the more) furious.
I can't imagine them actually revealing the father anytime soon, it might not even happen by the end, though this anime is so famous it'll more or less happen eventually unless the author goes full troll mode on us.
(Also kind of convenient that the old manager decided to leave)

There's no real way to tell what's gonna happen next ep, but it seems ruby and aqua are just going to slowly advance. They reintroduced kana this ep briefly at the end but I dunno honestly.
Honestly the entire thing feels like an elaborate bait, lure you in with the fancy cover girl and then we get stuck with whatever this is.

Also I am SO not a big fan of the director's mom interrupting, just infuriating, like I know its a trope and comedy and what not but its not funny.
And the whiplash between comedy and dorama definitely doesnt help, whatever that is. And I'm sure there will be even more dorama at some point, whatever that is, I can already feel it, poor ruby.

(Kind of funny because its easy to forget aqua was a doctor previously so his grades must have been ridiculous)

The pacing of the manga is one of the reasons I just couldn't stop reading it. And the anime perfectly adapts to that. We finally got to see the OP movie and it doesn't disappoint. It hints important upcoming characters without spoiling any plot really. And even if there's a bit of long dialogue at times, I still think the amount of different plot lines starting up are carefully seeded and I have great hopes the studio will capture the flow of events in a great manner.
