| I put off this anime for the longest time because I couldn't find the right mood to watch it. I just realized the 2nd Season is coming very soon so I thought I'll finally watch it. Good first episode. Reminds me of The World's Greatest Assassin Reborns as an Aristocrat but I'm pretty sure that show (among many others) copied Mushoku Tensei. Because it's the so-called "godfather of isekai" and all that. Does that mean I can blame MT for all the trash seasonal isekais that come out these days? |

| Season 2 is airing right now with the school-arc or whatever you call it, so why don't we revisit season 1 again and give it some appreciation once more. And I gotta say: I forgot what a great first episode this was. So much established already, and I for one am getting so interested in this world all over again. |

| fantastic this is just what was needed to scratch my near relapse into MMO lifestyle. almost made the mistake of resubscribing to THAT game. nice color palette, nice music, nice animation, and some bonus humor and perversion, yes most excellent. |

| As with every Isekai, I ask why is it an Isekai? It's an excuse for such lazy, self-insert writing, where the most pathetic man in life suddenly becomes the God Emperor of mankind when giving another chance. And, of course, he's a pervert who will perv on conveniently cute & abundant women (of ambiguous age that isn't important don't pay attention to this). There's so many routes something like this could go. Something that could inspire other fat, depressed, NEETs to not waste their finite remaining life. Or a fantasy story about a gifted kid who has memories of a previous life, but is unable to fully piece together that past. Feelings of being another man, wisdom without the experience & reasoning, contemplations that aren't pertinent, and such. I'm usually lean toward shotacon, but you know what, the penis scene is not my most favorite scene in this episode.
My most favorite scene is every scene that the dad appear, that dad is seriously hot, a big DILF, I wish he's a virgin instead of our protatonist, but if he's a virgin then the protagonist can't be born. Everytime he has sex with his wife I hurt so much. It should be me, on the bed with him, not her.
Now back to the main topic, I'm actually surprised that our protagonist didn't know immediately that he's in isekai setting considering that he read thousands of light novels.

| I find it weird that Rudeus despite being typical neet has very little genre awareness on Isekai or fantasy tf. As if he only know about fantasy stuff is just from novel. He fall to the floor, no sign of bruise, no reaction of being hurt or crying from falling and yet her mother just heal him right away ? Never learn how to read and yetmable to perform magic incredibly fast. Ah, power fantasy at its finest, you gotta love that. It's also important to put the banging sound in the background, music to the ear they say. Tone of show seems to be more serious one and yet when Rudeus do explicitly perverted shit unlike comedy show where this supposed to be funny cliche of being pervert, this one just straight up gross. I predict he has a great potential to bang his first teacher because she is an anime waifu. |
