I know you're shitposting, but the entire reason why FGO fell off as hard as it did was because they've meandered around and done nothing since 2020 rolled around. An average FGO year pre-2020 used to release about 3 Story Chapters and 40 Servants give or take. Nowadays they struggle to shit out an average of 2 chapters - if even that much - and 30 Servants. It's about a solid 30~35% drop in productivity. It was especially bad in 2020 that saw about 27 Servants released total compared to the year prior having 40 new Servants. 2020 is what effectively killed off FGO's market dominance (and you can see that by observing how much revenue/income dropped after 2019, which was arguably the last ''good'' year). FGO used to work on a decently tight rotation of new content where every time people would start getting bored of a release and discussion+fan content started running tired, they'd just shit out a new piece of content to renew interest compared to how wide and long-lasting ''dead periods'' are now. Now they can't even be fucked to release an established yearly event like Christmas, let alone upkeep any real productivity. Any ''master plan'' about intentionally prolonging the Lostbelts to increase the game life's span would be pretty retarded given A) it assumes DW/Lasengle has the actual competency to produce a backlog of content and B) if they'd just upkept the 3 chapters+40 Servants per year schedule, they could've probably ended the Lostbelt saga already and started on Arc 3 without losing a significant portion of the playerbase like they're very likely to lose now with the conclusion of Arc 2. |

She tried for Arc in the GSSR but she got Amakusa instead. 620 rolls later and down to 22 quartz, NP3 Gilgamesh, NP10 XX, Anastasia, Scheherazade and Achilles. 770 rolls in total and 3 additional quartz packs, she now got NP5 Gil. |

Lack of content with big dead periods between releases = people get tired of waiting, burnout ensues. (I talk about it more in that post above) 2. Devs refuse to modernize the game. Took them 6 years to introduce a Pity system due to literally every other gatcha on the market having one, but the Pity system they introduced is pretty much a joke since it has little to almost no use to the average player and only really benefits people that spend a lot of money anyway. Compared to other gatcha, it probably has by far one of the worst - if not the worst - Pity system on the market. This also means a lot of people just fucked off to things like Genshin. 3. Only reason a lot of people are still willing to endure the first two above points is because people wanna experience the story to the end. Once the story ends, there will be no reason for a lot of people to stick around anymore, which leads me to the next bit: What will happen when Arc 2 ends? Arc 3. But it's likely an entirely new story that won't be helmed by Nasu. One I'm sure some people will stick around to see, but I'm also sure a lot of people will just up and leave since they don't wanna endure Lasengle's laziness and incompetence anymore. |

Personally, if I was invested in the story that much I would probably prefer to just watch recordings on yt or w/e. |

| Personally, I'm sticking with the game until the end of Part 2 for two reasons. 1. The community experience. It was great being a part of the community during the ending of Part 1 and I want to be there again for Part 2. 2. I just want to stick with the game until the very end. We've been with it, for both good and bad, for 7 years now. Doesn't make sense to quit when the end is in sight. As for Part 3, as you guys said, Nasu isn't going to be involved with it, so neither will I. I'll keep my account somewhat active though for when Aoko/Ciel/Akiha come out and for the inevitable Nasu event that's sure to happen. And on that note, FGO, revenue-wise, is far, FAR from dying. It's still making hands-over-fist, copious amounts of money, and it'll continue to do so. But when FGO does go out of service at some point, I want to be there on the last day, and maybe do a 3T clear with my Archer Jeanne one last time. This is why I'll always keep my account, even if I stopped logging in. If it weren't for FGO, this club wouldn't have existed, so my relationship with the game has stopped being between a player and a game years ago. It just means much more to me. |

Also regardless of what the attitude here or in the West generally is, there's probably quite a lot of Japanese people that still love FGO as a game if we go by the fact that FGO remains highly profitable in the top 5 gatcha consistently or the fact that it continues to be one of the franchises with the highest amount of Comiket presence. Personally, I dropped the game about 2 years ago back in 2020 since that was the start of DW becoming disgustingly lazy and Genshin coming out to undercut any further willingness to put up with their shit. I occasionally buy a $1 quartz acc off the ebay to play with a new Servant I like here and there, but ultimately always end up throwing the account away. I still follow the franchise's story and releases though since it remains one of my favorite franchises regardless of what some people/companies have done to it in the past couple of years. |
| Once Part II ends, I'll probably just gonna keep logging in once a day and occasionally doing interlewds and strengthenings for quartz, and just passively trying to collect servants. ...which isn't much of a change since I barely play the game as it is. I haven't done an event in almost a year. But I've invested too much to straight up delete it. But it'll just be a true storehouse for JPEGs once I lose the rest of my investment with the story after the end of Part II |

| Why I have a few reasons for still playing the FGO as a F2P until the very end: 1. I'll always keep logging in on the game in every day to farm the quests or the future events (new events, lotto, reruns, whatever.) to get whatever materials for leveling up my own servants' skills until they are all maxed. 2. I like to see what kind of new or alternate version of servants (and waifus) look like when they come out in the future stories/events. 3. I like the part of the FGO story about where the Chaldea summon the Servants from the Throne of Heroes or whatever to fight their own enemies together in order to prevent the extinction of the human race, and later solve the problems with the Lostbelts too, which is better than the Holy Grail Wars. And, the Servants hang out with another servant or their master to talk about whatever and get along with them to become good friends, family, and master/servant too. So, that's why I'll keep on playing the FGO in every day as one of my favorite Fate series/games that I'm very attached to until the very end. |

| Was quite a wild ride during the stream. Probably the reason for the delay came up at the very very last minute and they only found the solution just before the stream ended. What a serious crunch time. But also, they had to resort to a crunch time and an early announcement of a delay, meaning Lasengle is just fucked up in their manpower and production schedule. The January dead month pretty much says it all. And here it could have been the Aniplex curse of delays they've been experiencing in their production right now. Anyways, Eresh Alter incoming from the CM?? I didn't touch FGO the whole January btw. |

| Tiamat could've been popular if they capitalized on her better. Despite having a very good design, her whole existence basically amounted to being a pretty cool last boss in Babylonia that didn't have a word of spoken dialogue. It took a solid 6 years since then to re-introduce her as an actual character... in Arcade of all things... way past FGO's prime popularity point. If they'd have re-introduced her in Mobile as a playable character a couple years after her initial appearance, then it's pretty likely she'd have generated more interest. She had all the potential makings of what could've been a popular character, they just utilized that potential in the worst way possible. It still grinds my gears that both her, Marie Alter and the Olympian Gods aren't playable in Mobile. Each passing Valentine event with no playable Aphrodite continues to be mind-boggling to me. At least I can understand Marie Alter because Meteo quite literally hasn't gotten off his ass to write a single thing for Fate/Requiem since vol. 2 which released a month after the original Requiem collab in 2020, so that explains the lack of a rerun with Marie Alter being made playable with it. Archimedes from Extella also not being playable yet despite them literally abandoning Extella being an open secret at this point is also... lol... |
