I think Re:Zero was the only one that got me to tear up, but I dont remember if it was the light novel or the anime. Maybe both..

Clannad After Story. I watched all of the traditionally sad anime trying to find one that finally did it, but episode 18 of Clannad After Story finally did it and it hasn’t happened since.

Maquia's ending broke me and I started bawling my eyes out.
It was the first time I have ever cried to an anime (or any piece of fiction).
I also came really close to crying during the ending of Kaede's story in Bunny Girl Senpai and Mother's Rosario in SAO.

fairy tail (first one i cried at), your lie in april, darling in the franxx, a silent voice, anohana, clannad as, code geass, violet evergarden,

kinda went off on a ramble but might be useful for people wanting tear jerkers, (fairy tail isnt really a tear jerker but at some points far on it does get quite sad)

Clannad after story destroyed me I was crying like crazy. It was the most touching anime I ever watched and I will never forget how deep it resonated with me for some reason. I will never cry again like I was over that anime.

Darling in the Franxx was the first for me.

Absolutely amazing anime (still one of my all time favorites) until episode 16. Which is where it get bad episode by episode until the last 2 episodes where everything goes totally crazy and (/SPOILER\)
the main protagonists (Hiro and Zero Two) die an absolutely unnecessary and stupid death for no good reason at all.
They never see anyone they know ever again and their “reincarnations” at the end don’t even remember everything they went through.

Sad (but emotional) ending and just a middle finger from the writers into the face of the fans (in my opinion).

Then there is no season 2 in which the reincarnations of 02 and Hiro remember their past or something to fight Virm which stills exist even after their sacrifice. Which makes everything that happened absolutely unsatisfactory and seem so unnecessary.

I am so glad that the Manga exist now which is the anime but in a perfected version with a good ending and no unnecessary alien-space plot twist (All 4 books are already bought / pre-ordered).

Thank you person making the Manga : )

Although i am still relatively new to Anime and Manga and haven’t watched much yet i also shed some tears during Re: Zero.

My first time was in ep 13 of Bunny Girl senpai, when shouko was reading kaede's (youger sister) diary, not only because of the fealing construction of the scene, but because i am a big brother and I have affection for my brothers

The original fruits basket, ruroni kenshin, the finale of the new fruits basket, gleipnir, a bunch, but it was a lot of happy cries.

The one that made me cry the hardest, though, was made in abyss. The favor Nanachi asks Reg to do for her. That scene had me sobbing uncontrollably.

Naruto was the first for me when he meets Kushina and when Sasuke get's a flashback of Itachi crying.
Re:Zero gets second place with Season 2 Value of life, boy that hits like a bus sending you to another world, episode 21 Season 1 came close tbh.
