And if so is it good for a friend of mine which has never seen the original Dragon Ball since I also want him to watch Dragon Ball Kai? |

This is old, I know, but I'm gonna answer it for anybody who stumbles upon this. This film is a remake of the first two big arcs (Pilaf and Red Ribbon Army) and has a different plot. It doesn't lead into DBZ in any way. I suppose it might be good enough if all you want is an hour and a half re-telling of Dragon Ball, but there might be inconsistencies with DBZ. |

| The plot's pretty different so I dont think it really functions as a rewatch for story purposes. I think its good for when you're in the mood for Dragon Ball vibes, but dont want to commit to actually rewatching the series. Also its just kinda fun to see the GT art style on something that isnt... y'know, GT |
| Just watch the original. The plot is different so it's your choice. |
