| Yeah, the parallels are nice. Tho it's very short-lived (only 1 year in the story, and only a few minutes in the meta sense). And unlike Merlin, Oberon's ultimate characterisation feels a bit detached from Castoria. (For example, he goes into detail abt how twisted Britain is, and how Chaldea are monsters trying to destroy Morgan's pretty picture book or w/e but we never got a sort of proper monologue of him referring to Castoria/his thoughts on her. You can ofc infer it from his actions and the fact that it's implied that she's his Titania substitute....or maybe that was Blanca- but every other thing got an encapsulating monologue so I'm sad this didn't). Also Castoria meeting Oberon was an event in the winter part of her memories so maybe it wasn't meant to be that impactful for her either. Felt like Nasu was playing hard to get with their relationship lol. >This needs 36 episodes minimum. I mean, some of the most random IPs can get 2x20-25 ep shows, so smthg like that would be nice. Often time the scale of Fate adaptations feel quite small for something that makes so much money. |
