Kill La Kill is way better than a 4

Nah I gotta disagree completely, it's literally coma-inducingly boring, info-dumping mumbo jumbo gibberish, nothing else. Having thought-provoking mature themes doesn't mean anything if the show can't offer anything remotely interesting story, plot or characterization wise. It's important for a mature-themed or deep anime that it presents its theme through either an interestingly executed plot, storyline or characters, in terms of action, drama, world building, event or character dynamics, in order to capture the viewer's attention. SEL literally does nothing of that at all & just presents its themes/messages though mind-numbingly boring, random info-dump on the topics again & again. Hardly any interesting character dynamics do even exist when majority of the times all we get is heavy info-dump on topics again & again, plus Lain is just an emotionless wierdo with barely any personality or emotional range, her persona aspect is basically so blank that she feels like a completely lifeless & empty character. Hardly anything intriguing offered in terms of character dynamics, drama or dialogue, alongside that barely anything notable plot-event-wise, all we basically have got here to keep our interest in the show is the heavy, straightforward continuous info-dumping on themes & topics the show deals with. Since the show so heavily relies on info-dumping to present its themes instead of presenting it through any interesting/intriguing story/world/plot/character dynamics or dialogue, if literally just feels like sitting in a college professor's class & being lectured on topics, TL,DR incredibly boring. If the show can't really offer anything apart from info-dumping on topics, then I'd rather prefer reading a book on the topic & do an internet search on it. There at least has to be something interesting going on whether in terms of the plot, story-events, action-drama or the character-dynamics & dialogues.....at the very least, one or two aspects to keep the viewer's attention & engagement in the show, there are several mature themed anime which present their deep themes through some of the aforementioned aspects to make it a captivating experience for the viewer & for the themes they convey to connect with the viewer well. Since SEL doesn't do any of that, it literally ends up having zero entertainment value to keep the viewer immersed.
You are free to disagree with me of course, but I explained my reasons for why I found the show to be totally lacking in many aspects & hence why I didn't enjoy it in the slightest. I literally was bored senseless whilst watching this entire show, nothing else. |
