Well, had a good laugh tonight with these 2 dumb-asses arguing and giving their opinions on a bunch of stuff that they have almost no clue about except for what they heard and read here and there. They think what they are talking about are facts like they work in the industry and know what's going on behind the scenes. Good one guys thank you for the entertainment!

Oh and btw to the one that said China copied Japanese style of art and animation, let me inform you that it's the other way around since ancient times. Japan copied China's art for hundreds of years along with a lot of other things. Also a lot of animators from China, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, America are working on a ton of anime shows this decade , majority of the high quality shows like some recent ones Mob Psycho, Fate/Grand Order Babylonya and some of the best animated episodes like Fate/Apocrypha's 22 Mob Pyscho II episode 5, Boruto 65 have been done by mostly foreign animators. Some of the biggest names in the industry right now like Hakuyu Go (director for Apocrypha 22, MP II 5, All Might vs Nomu), Weiling Zhang(Boruto 65, MP II, Carole and Tuesday), GEM(MP II, Black Clover episode 100, Castlevania), chengxi huang(Boruto 65+other cuts , Naruto final fight, MHA, Castlevania) and even the director of Castlevania Spencer Wan is slowly making a name for himself (worked on Boruto 65 + other cuts and recently worked on a chinese show Hitori no Shita that's been making a lot of fuss in the animation industry this past week for how good it looks).

Anything with the tag anime made outside Japan is a copy of Japanese artstyle for making some bucks off anime trend, isn't this obvious why I need to elaborate? Are you idiot?
Things like castlevania and avatar wouldn't exist if Japanese artstyle was never popular.

The way the characters look seems very much identical to the characters of the manwha. That's very good as they seem to respect the art of the webtoon.

The fighting scenes looks dope and very fast-paced (big nice) and i haven't seen a single use of CGI (huge nice for me).

The only thing that i'm worried about is whether they translated some Korean names in Japanese because Lord knows that happens a lot when you make an anime out of a non japanese manhua/manwha (poor Baam got hit hard with that...). But since Jin Taejin called MC "Mori", i guess we're good.

I don't really like the fact that the characters are speaking Japanese considering it's a Korean webtoon, but hey ! Beggars can't be choosers and we begged for an animated version of GOH.

In the end, i'm expecting grand things from this.

Yes, you mean Boruto? Or any YuGiOh from the past decade? Cardfight? I can keep going, but it never was and it never will be this type of business deal keeping "worthy manga" of being adapted. There are tons of animes every year that are awful, you really think they will stop doing that? Did you really think that is an worthy argument?

where did i mention boruto and yugioh? There's still tons of great manga yet to be adapted or fully adalted like Kimi ni todoke, Domestic na Kanojo, Citrus, and the list goes on. Also, if they find this kind of deal to be lucrative, it eventually will hold back some worthy manga from being adapted.

You stated that adapting webtoons will keep good mangas from being adapted. I'm stating that it wouldn't make any difference because they adapt really garbage mangas like boruto, yugioh etc. Japan will not start fully adapting mangas that already had their adaptation, it should be part of their model but it isn't. My whole point is that your type of argument doesn't hold. It isn't webtoons that steals the change of good mangas of being adapted, it is terrible mangas that actually get in the way. Webtoons only got a chance now and they could potentially be adapted by foreign studios, it is just easier to adapt in a experienced and fully equipped studio in Japan. Even if the adaptations of webtoons grow, it won't interfere with manga adaptations since they would probably hired more new people into the business, it's especially a good time now with the covid-19 pandamic. Most streaming services are getting tons of new subscriptions and getting more money to invest in originals like crunchyroll is doing. There is a market for it and the context allows an expansion into webtoons (deservingly, just because you don't like it doesn't mean is bad).

Trashy isekai (and it's twin, VRMMORPGs) trash adaptations are already overtaking and oversaturating the market, for quite some years, actually.
Some extra korean/chinese stuff is not going to chance the landscape by a lot.

Osamu Tezuka, the father of anime, was heavily inspired by Disney animations.

Anime does not exists in a isolated bubble.

Why do so many people think this isn't a "real" anime? It's literally airing on Japanese TV! And the animation looks great so far, anyone saying differently is just biased.

Because they are Weeaboos.

Japanese stuff=good, original

Western (or other eastern, not!nipponic) stuff=bad, copycats

Like all those endless battle shounens and harem-esque isekais. SO ORIGINAL, YOU CANT EVEN TELL MOST OF THEM APART.

The red nosed design is ugly asf. The animation is decent but art looks bland. MAPPA seems pitching their A game with this. I hope the story is not bland as the art. And another case of animation is good, but story is bad types.

1. Of course the webtoon readers were the ones who asked for anime adaptations? What you expect people who never read a webtoon to ask for an anime? That sounds stupid af.
2. You pull out of your ass the notion that the ones that read webtoons are a minority in the anime community. No statistics to back it up you just assume that.
3. After this adaptation anime watchers will start reading webtoons and webtoon readers will start watching anime. Good thing for both sides.
4. Calling it a quick cash grab when basically almost any anime is doing that. Anime studios don't make anime to lose money.
5. Anime is an animation produced in japan at a japanese studio. Source of the story doesn't matter. Is like throwing a fit and saying that anime from light novels are not anime because anime must come from manga.

Anime is Japanese, and it's always made adaptations from either: Japanese Manga, Japanese Light novels, or Japanese Novels.
Now we are getting "anime" made from webtoons?
This is just CR and other western companies using the anime tagline to promote cartoons. They use the same style as anime and are in Japanese, that doesn't mean it is anime.
Do Japanese people want to see webtoon adaptations?
Not much of them do.
So, this is just a trend of the west appropriating anime and trying to mold it into what is the "best for buisness".
Edit: Also, nice fake account, making an acc just to upvote ToG and IR is just idiotic.

Because this is actually what I watched? If I say now that the only show that I watched every week in winter was Ishizoku Reviewers you would say that I am a heretic xD. I watched anime for a long time. Ofc I have times when I don't feel like watching because of other things. Also I watched other things that I didn't add such as Teacher Onizuka and In;Spectre but I didn't finish them.
