| Yeah... the mangaka for this series is infamous for doing this, unfortunately; this isn't the only series she's left unfinished. And this case just makes it evident that not even her most popular series are safe. XP |

I think that was the OP question as well, its listed as 'hiatus' pretty much anywhere with a status update for it but here it was randomly changed to a finished status and so I was asking why the change when there was no new info on it or if there was I was asking for a source. Myanimelist normally doesn't randomly changed to 'finished' unless an announcement has come out on an hiatus'd manga/anime that confirms it's not continuing but as far as I know even now, there has been no official announcement of such, so that is what makes this specific case odd to say the lest. I don't believe any news was released regarding her stating that she's finished with DN Angel, but it is safe to assume the story will never continue. This mangaka is well known for abandoning her projects midway, and the last time she ever released a chapter was in 2011, that was 5 years ago. In 2012, MAL announced that the mangaka would be creating her new story "1001 Knights" which still seems to be ongoing. Honestly, it's probably a matter of time until she quits that manga too. She's very unprofessional. |

| I came back to this manga after 15 years to find out that it had been abandoned by its author a long time ago. It's disappointing because it felt like if she had written a few more chapters or even one more volume, it could have all come to a satisfying ending, but instead, it ends with Satoshi pointing a gun at everybody and himself and Dark might take over Daisuke's body. It's interesting to come back and find out that this manga has become an abandoned mess like D.Gray-Man (though D.Gray-Man is so much more a publishing mess at this point that it's practically apocalyptic how much worse it is). |
