Why would you heat an empty plate in a microwave?

It's been a very long time since I asked myself this question. I have yet to find what I truly believe to be a satisfactory answer. Part of me wants to believe that it is the manifestation of overcoming the great empty feeling I have inside. By bombarding the empty plate (the self) with large amounts of radiation, I am able to reach a higher state of being. My only hope in this universe is that I will be able to ascend to the level of the plate and come to terms with reality. For now, I simply watch the plate spin, slowly getting cancer because evidently having your face 3 inches from the fucking door is bad for you.

I like to heat up an empty plate and imagine there is actual food on it, but then reality kicks in and I remember I have no food to heat up. So instead I just continue to heat an empty plate in hopes that someday ill be able to heat up delicious food on this lonely plate of mine.
