Majority does not have any harem.

True Martial World (no harem)
Martial World (no harem)
Desolate Era (no harem)
I Shall Seal the Heavens (no harem)
Heavenly Jewel Change
Emperor's Domination
Douluo Dalu (no harem)
Transcending The Nine Heavens (no harem)
Against the Gods
World of Cultivation (no harem)
Tales of Demons and Gods
A Record of a Mortal’s Journey to Immortality (no harem)

Martial World is harem. This is how it's listed on novel updated as well
Transcending the nine heavens is harem as well, novelupdates listed it the same too

So out of those 12 novels, 7 sre harems, with TMW being unsure seeing as when I dropped it the MC and the girl started their sexual cultivation - usually when something like this appears in a novel it's a pretty sure hint that things will go downhill.. :/

Novel Update is like Wikipedia. Anyone can edit it to Harem even though it is not. Even novels with a "harem" tag, the novel is never about a harem though. An MC with 2 or more love interests are tagged with "harem."

With or without harem tag, most of the top Xianxia novels are just as enjoyable as most of the top anime. I used to watch a lot of anime and read a lot of manga. But now my free time is xianxia novels since it's more enjoyable.

Didn't know about any of titles above. Too busy with manhwa and manhua that've pretty much covered my dose of eastern fantasy. Besides, those hundreds of chapters listed feels too intimidating

LOL. After you start reading and get addicted to it, you would think that "hundreds of chapters" are too short to fuel your addiction.

The genre (especially Chinese xianxia) has grown in popular by a whole lot in a very short amount of time.

2 years ago: nothing really on the scene
now: 3 millions + English readers

Many fan translators now have $1000 + a month on Patreon (donations from readers).

No... I won't do it...

I don't have time for all those novels. I'll stick with watching the anime adaptations.

I'll only occasionally read the novels if the resulting anime was amazing.

I respect your choice. Novels are not for everyone.

The thing is for web novels in particular they aren't. There is so much overpraise from the web novel fans. I don't want to sound demeaning but to describe the writing I would have to use words like shallow or lackluster. Its literally a manhwa or manhua without the pictures.

There are good web novels and bad web novels. The good ones are just as good as fantasy novels from popular Western fantasy authors.

For modern fantasy, I would recommend

I'm Really A Superstar
I'm In Hollywood
Gourmet Food Supplier
Monster Factory

I used to binge read LNs, but like all things the euphoria slowly decreased over time and now I couldn't care less. That being said I did read Tales of Demons and Gods, Doulou Dalu, I Shall Seal the heavens and others which I've forgotten the name of. I think the problem is once you start facing reality a bit more and "get your head out of the clouds" the incentive for reading LNs and immersing yourself with another's fantasies/imagination disappears quite drastically.
All in all, I find the writing although highly immersive and piques one's imagination, but also very dull, shallow, and lackluster. Plot devices and plot armour literally everywhere.

Qidian English website finally launched today.

Similar to how LINE/NAVER does it with webtoon

some development that be of note:

Wuxiaworld is on track to raise about $300,000 a year through Patreon to purchase copyrights from Qidian (China's biggest fantasy novel web site).

Since the Patreon was launched 2 weeks ago, it is now at $16,000 a month.
I wouldn't be surprised if it can reach $25,000 a month (which would be equal to $300,000 a year) in the near future.

The benefit of crowdfunding is that these novels would continue to be FREE to read.
Instead of something like a Yen Press situation with a paid wall and slow release.
