I'm looking for something I can read in school without attracting a lot of unwanted attention. That means no extreme gore, absolutely no echi, and nothing too weird or creepy that will have people wondering about my sanity. Even something like Bleach is absolutely out with its blood and semi weird looking creatures. Since I'm going to be reading it in school obviously I'm paying for it, I hate wasting money!! Don't rec something that is average or bad. Also if I have something on my plan to read list that fits this rec it here. Preferably completed with all of its volumes available

Don't recommend me something that is still publishing, unless its close to being finished. Don't recommend me anything that isn't licensed.

If you don't mind something girlish I can recommend you Cardcaptor Sakura.
And also Aqua (only two volumes) which is quite good.

20th Century Boys maybe?

BLAME! might be good too, reading it makes you appear intaellaetval and refined~

Eden: It's an Endless World! is also splendid. Certainly more real violence than Bleach, but it's not too overdone, at least until those genetically engineered soldiers start popping up.

Trigun Maximum is also quite safe, but not really that splendid.

If I remember well Blame! was really violent o_O
And by the way that's what I didn't like in this manga, this mix between gore and mecha.... I find it really weird and creepy...

But it's more surreal art than a normal manga, which makes it instantly awesome and sophisticated.

I'd wager that pretty much any manga will attract attention in school, if you read it out in the open.

Aqua is a good choice. I'll throw in Amanchu on a similar note. You could also try:
Me and the Devil Blues
A Distant Neighborhood
Beck
Yotsuba&!

Why would anyone besides people that are interested in reading it themselves care? Not Same with any kind of medium...

Who cares anyway? It's not really the place to debate about this. Let's keep this thread as a rec thread.

A Distant Neighborhood has been delayed in its release and I don't think he can read scans during class.

Despite how good they may be, I wouldn't bring these to school:
Apollo's Song - There's a naked woman on the cover (with the jacket off, but still with it on you can see her breasts).
MW - I think the inside jacket in which two guys are having sex would attract attention.
The Push-Man - There's a story about a guy whose job is to shows porn to others .
Abandon the Old in Tokyo - One fact (of many): a guy screws a dog, so an obvious no.
Good-Bye - lots of sex and nudity.
Of what I didn't do, I either don't know about them or I second them (too lazy to make the distinction).

Of note, there is one page in Solanin where the main characters have sex, but besides that its fine.

My recommendations:
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind
GTO
Sexy Voice and Robo
The Walking Man
Blue (written by Kiriko Nananan)
Sousakushu (anything by Jiro Taniguchi is great)
Tekkon Kinreet (one page of nudity, but thats fine)
"In the Beginning, the creative energy radiates from within."

No, no. That's Lame. Sounds like something out of a Jodorowsky comic.

The Tokusyu Manga Club - Features alternative comics/avant-garde comics/outsider comics/psychdelic comics/surrealistic comics/underground comics + La Nouvelle Manga (part of Alternative).

If I'm here, its because I have nothing better to do.

I think maybe you should take up Light Novels. They are just as good as manga.

This group I agree with, the worst thing in them is that Ginko smokes a lot in Mushi-shi. Gon is pretty much instantly enjoyable and a fast read (and it's only $6 a volume). With Drifting Life, it kinda has to be something you're interested in to read or it won't be a good buy for you, Solanin as well.

This group I do not agree with. Now, don't get me wrong, they are all great series, but they contain a good bit of Tezuka-style nudity (it's common in a lot of his manga, and in MW's case...). You should still read these if you get a chance, but not in school.

I also like 76ers-kid's idea, just get some used books somewhere for cheap (probably get hard cover, easier to take the book out of it) and have a dummy cover to hide your manga at school. Or just make a brown paper bag slip cover to fit most standard manga books. Both are also good for defending against back pack abuse to your manga.

Heh, yeah, I didn't really think about those. But it's not like someone's going to be watching over his shoulder all the time. He even said himself, "Why would anyone besides people that are interested in reading it themselves care?"

Also:

Uzumaki (from what I remember, there isn't any violence or nudity but just creepy stuff)
12 Days
Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei
Ghost Hunt
Oishinbo
Emma
Slam Dunk
What's Michael

This. Guys, I'm not a closet anime fan or something. I could care less if someone decides to shout to everyone I read manga. I'm just asking for something that doesn't
draw attention not something thats invisible. Black instead of yellow. Plain instead of stripes and patterns. Its like, if I asked you to pick some regular street cloths would you pick something really bright that attracts attention? You wouldn't pick the exact clothes a mannequin is wearing either would you?

Sigh. I don't care THAT much about people's opinions. Should I also wear a mask because there's a chance someone might not love my face?

Those are anything bu ecchi. There's a big difference between a small sex scene and mindless fanservice.

So your logic is its ok to watch softcore porn but not regular porn if I ask for no porn? If I asked for a picture of a clothed women you would send one with her wearing a hat and nothing else?

You misused the word "ecchi" and I simply corrected your terminology. Why are you trying to make some irrelevant argument out of this?
