The people who voted for Iori either haven't seen the ending or are into girls with nothing but problems.

I like Inaba but Iori for liiiiife.✌🏻️
I know pple having been hating on Iori saying she was irritating, annoying, pain in the ass, bitchy, (apologies for my language) that I/we haven't watched the end, or that you r into girls that have problems. Honestly (not making a war bc of an anime show just giving my opinion!!😜) personally the way I see it Iori was pressured to be "the perfect" Iori there could be, BUT Inaba DID say (which was true) that they were unknowly doing that and that Iori was living up to those expectations and not telling her friends how she rly feels. Also, Iori pointed out how Inaba pushed Iori and Tachi together for so long and when she went for it Inaba confessed her love instead of saying them at the beginning. SOO for me to say Inaba or Iori I would honestly I love the personality they set for Inaba but I chose Iori because I was also depending on the personality and characteristics, and also she kind of reminds me of myself in a way of the personality swapping she had depending on the situation.
I really liked Iori more than Inaba, mostly because I felt like I could relate to Iori more. Also that Iori is a much more well-rounded character than Inaba. Iori went through a lot of struggles to become who she is and in the end stayed optimistic.
Inaba is just another tsundere.
But for who should be with Taichi more... I definitely thought Inaba all the way.
Inaba was always a lot more straightforward, which is a characteristic you need in order to be in a successful relationship. Iori is not.
Inaba also is less of an emotional wreck than Iori and was more than willing to open herself to Taichi personally than Iori throughout the whole show. Of course, Iori is like that because of her upbringings, but why she ended up like that shouldn't be a factor in being in a relationship with someone.
So, although I really do like Iori a lot more, Inaban x Taichi all the way.
Oh, and despite everything I said of course I voted for Inaba.

I agree with you...i like iori more but the staff spoiled her so that we would eventually hate her and love inaban....i dont like that feeling at all. This whole series is to convenient for inaban. But still my favourite is iori
SPOILERS
I agree with you.
It actually made me hate the anime, they forcefully made iori fall off and made inaba more likable. They shat all over my favorite character and put him with the aggressive man woman. It was WAY too forced. I feel like I wasted my entire day watching this anime. They shoved Inaba down my throat and I couldn't stomach it. And all of the sudden he just loves her at the end? yeah okay, his love for Iori is a thing of the passed. YEAH OK. COOL. GOOD WAY TO GO ABOUT IT, BECAUSE HE DIDNT KNOW THE REAL HER? Sick anime, YES IM BUTT HURT THAT MY HEROINE WASN'T THE ONE HE ENDED UP WITH. WE ALL HAVE DIFFERENT TASTES AND IM RANTING AND BEING IMMATURE I KNOW. JUST NEEDED TO VENT.
yeah! im not watching this anime again for the rest of my life .Btw have you seen True tears , same thing happened.
Actually and in highschool of the dead happened something like this ;-; :"(
Seraphrim said: Iori. From my POV she has experience the most growth character wise. Inaba becomes likeable which is what the writer intended. Ioris' character is one that is flawed but comes to realize those flaws and grows from it make her far more likable IMO. I guess I am just more of a sucker for complex characters.
I like Iori better. Inaba is kind of boring imo, although she did have some nice moments here and there. The development for Iori is by far the best in this series.
This show reminded me of True Tears where I started liking the show but towards the end the mc ends up with the uninteresting heroine.
hey guys....do u all forget that Iori was devastated because of inaba 's indecisiveness. Not knowing her true feelings, she force Iori and Taichi to build a new relationship. Then when iori really wants to start it,she said she was in love with tachi.that was really mean. For iori's bad attitude in michi random ,I think the author did not do well.Ending is off.It ruins the whole progress.I regret watching it.it wasn't worth my time.Everything good was for Inaba finally.Great start but as the series go on,the plot became less attractive aND weaker. If u guys really want to watch slice of life anime,Oregairu and Hyouka are my top recommendations.
This is pretty old, but replying anyway.
The novel actually explained better, lemme take a long ass quote from it.
Inaba's 'love' embraced Taichi. It felt very... warm. Very comfortable. Very happy. Very passionate. Very endearing. He felt his mind at peace.
Was he ever this needed before?
He was needed so much, he even wondered whether it was a dream.
And then, himself.
He indeed had the notion of 'wanting to repay this feeling'. Taichi would not deny it. But it wasn't all there was: He, too, needed Inaba.
Inaba taught him many things. Inaba made him realised what was truly important. Inaba pointed out that he was a 'selfless freak.' Inaba worried for him for that, and would always watch over him, keeping him in line. Inaba encouraged him to take the first step in many different ways. Inaba took up all kinds of burdens with him. Inaba tried harder than anyone to tell him how much he meant for the others.
It was all thanks to Inaba, that he could become what he was today.
They could complement each other's flaws.
If they worked together, they could accomplish many things.
Is it really okay? Taichi asked himself.
Even though it had already ended, he had been in love with another person the whole time.
However... If he listened to his heart, if the other had been wishing for the same...
After all, she had been patiently waiting for him all these times, even until now. If he could already see the conclusion, there was no reason for him to hesitate anymore. Taichi didn't want to keep her waiting any longer.
This happens after Inaba's "Mind Transfer" to Taichi. Not surprised by the turining point after reading this, I know this is about the anime but whatever.

after watching EP14 my ship changed to Inaba, well i came close to shipping Inaba from EP13

Bottom line, Iori had her chance (he confessed 3 times I think?) and she didn't take it. SO NO MORE HATE ON INABA!!
u make ferry god point there, she is the one that rejected him

This. Inaba's good, but Iori was by far the most interesting character out of the group. I also hate how the writers completely retconned all the development that she went through during the main series, just so they could make way for the Inaba x Taichi ship to sail.
they did no juts thing 4 OVA'S were made later cause time was up & they had to release incomplete story, 13EP & OVA'S are EP 14, 15, 16 & 17 & they finish the story, so this are not OVA'S this are continent what was left out before & was released later as OVA'S
my point is it was planned like this from the start, if they would have gotten extension to their time it would still have ended same way, her char never gotten over her issue really it just calmed down, but when heart seed started messing with them again her issue/complex resurfaced its easy to understand her char didn't do one80, its all thx to that supernatural phenomenon that made her lose her identity, u just didn't get, u thought she was totally cured

The male MC was bland and Iori was treated unfairly.
To decide (as a writer) that BOTH their feelings changed just like that makes a great aspect of the series seem somewhat pointless and makes the series look more inconsistant and convenient. Especially after establishing their relationship over the first 5-6 episodes and then just letting it die off slowly by not giving it any screentime and later dumping it completely (Even after their "true desire" was unleashed and had reconfirmed their feelings).
I think that Inaba was a more likeable character, too, but thats only because it was laid out to be like that in the end, which is what bothers me. Maybe I will change my oppinion after actually watching Michi Random.
they changed cause of the supernatural phenomenon so all is as it should be no mistakes were made & no1 was treated unfairly & they made their decisions cause they came to conclusion that that's how it should be & that's how they feel
first i was shipping Iori When EP 14, 15, 16 & 17 came out & after watching EP14 my ship changed to Inaba, well i came close to shipping Inaba from EP13

FrostDirt also has good explanation
like he says

For me I like Inaba better but its not like I dislike Iori either their both likable but Inaba beats Iori by a bit I guess it depend on the personality of each character and which one people like better but I guess in a way Inaba is definitely a badass but Iori is likable too but hey there's option 3 Yui :3
#teamInaba ... she is so cool! help everyone , and hide her feelings to help the others.... And I was cheering for her from the beginning of the anime...
PS: I don't speak English, so probably there are a lot of mistakes
INABA is a mature character here, who won't panic on every single thing. I like her personality compared to other characters. I would say, she is suitable for anyone, not just TAICHI. In the end its her choice.
BTW, I don't agree on the opinions of TAICHI about life.
Iori... She had a dark past, and because of that she couldn't get the guy. So of course Inaban got him. She didn't have anything to deal with, besides her rivalry with Iori. And the creator tried so hard to make us hate Iori. I don't think that's fair. The emotion reading arc was stupid. Iori had just resolved her problem before, they only added the last arc to make us dislike Iori and lean towards Inaban. Well, I guess that doesn't matter since Yui is best girl anyway. She's a tsundere who is auctally cute, and not manly.Yet she still manages to be a bad ass with her karate moves. Yui x Aoki was much better than Iori x taichi or Inaban x Taichi.
