Hmm, I actually find the play more tragic for Caesar's character since he died alone T_T... All he wanted was a smile! In the anime at least they both kind off confirmed their love for each other and then.... died T_T.

That was actually very surprising and interesting info on Magellan. Damn it! seriously why won't they just say what else happened between Caesar X Ichi.

Historical Hideyoshi was definitely a giant D-bag, and it is hard to cheer on Saru because of it. Especially since they told him to make a world of war and peace T_T.

It looks like the author for the manga went to the play. I hope he doesn't get any ideas T_T... BTW did they mention Jeanne's fate?

Exactly! He was... well, he was awful. I see some people ship Saru/Chacha, and I can't, not with how he treated her and other girls historically. It's like name it and he has most likely done it. (If anybody would fit as Judas in this it's him) World of war and peace? LOL, what? He can't do that.

I hope so too... If she is alive, she better head for the West Star since Saru's around and in charge, just saying.

Well the fangirl and other caesar x ichi fan twitter accounts mostly went to the play as well, if you watch the anime and you like it, you probably want to see the play as well and vice versa, not a big deal

IDK its obvious the manga is going the anime route, especially as caesar and ichi seems to have a basis for a relationship now, since he already took her and all, if caesar is the same as he is in the play and the anime, they will fall in love properly, but will still both die, especially with nel bianchi and cesare in the manga

im very sure the general plot of the manga will follow the anime, i just hope we will see more caesar x ichi (which we definitely will since hes with her now)

That's really sad :( Seeing Caesar die because of Ichihime not once but twice is tragic. I think I'm grateful that I'm not able to see the play :( Now, if they do that too in the manga.. *shakes head* third time's a charm I guess.

So in the play, Saru is like... the Savior King? :P Are they taking turns? haha XD

I really like that little bit of info with Magellan. But I'm still hoping for more Ichi x Caesar bits in the manga :P

Da Vinci as the villain is interesting. He really did seem suspicious at the start :D

舞台、アニメでも重要な役割だったノブカツがまた違った表情を見せる展開を
考えていますです、はい。
今までのノブカツ像とは違った顔を見せれたらいいなぁ、と。

I think hes saying that the manga will run parallel to the anime, though there are obviously significant differences, i guess hes saying the manga will be its version, since its obviously different from both the anime and the stage

Some of the differences he quoted was Ichi and Caesars meeting, something about nobuhide, and nobukatsu

Either way it seems that we will definitely be seeing plenty of caesar and ichi in the manga (at least i hope so)

Well the reason I want to see a wedding is that it gives Ichi the perfect excuse to wear something other then that kimono she always wears. I agree with you the biggest threat to the Ichi X Caesar is how long the manga lasts.

Well the manga guy also specifically mentions that Nobukatsu will play a different role compared to the anime and the play and he will be important i think

He also says that the way the fight with nobuhide was written in the manga, it conceals caesars hidden potential/power or something (not sure about the translation)

I wonder if the manga will explore the reasons why caesar was able to draw on the dragons power?

The way i interprete what the author said (about caesars hidden power being concealed for now) assuming i translate it correctly is that by getting caesar with Ichi this early, they 'skipped' episode 11 of the anime when caesar did his dragon powerup by not having caesar getting cornered by nobunaga and basically just beating the crap out of him before taking her

My prediction on the manga is one of 2 things happening

1) Nobu and co tries to rescue ichihime and nobukatsu and its nobu vs caesar for real (i hope not since this will probably end badly for caesar x ichi)

2) Caesar will try to woo ichi with limited success, and in the meantime, the other knights attack the oda clan, which causes Ichi to demand/plead that caesar rescue them (maybe offering her hand in the process) to which caesar would obviously agree, and if this happens there will be proper romance between them (I think something along this line is more likely to happen)

We should find out if the manga leans towards route 1 or 2 in the next chapter (i hope we get preview pics soon, we should be able to get some idea from there)

I just hope caesar uses his powerup against the bad guys (hopefully looking cool in front of Ichi in the process)

The way Caesars mecha is named quo vadis story though, it always seems to me like Caesars character was always destined to make Ichi marry him and make her fall for him eventually, i hope the manga follows that too

Yeah, I don't think Nobukatsu is dying anytime soon. It's been a while since I saw the chapter (waiting for the english translation next week) but Caesar didn't use his Veni Vidi Vici beam. Hopefully he saves it for the other knights, but I feel like he at has to fight Nobu at least once to settle the score.

I can see it going a few ways like you described. I personally would love to see something like number 2 happen. Ichi will give Caesar her hand in exchange for his protection of the Oda clan.

The one thing that gives me hope that Caesar will switch sides is the fact that they introduced all of the Arthur's knights. The Oda are going to need help dealing with all of them. Also, the fact that in the play like in the anime Caesar genuinely wanted Ichi's affection and wanted her happy.

Yeah, we should find out within the next chapter or two. I believe chapter 7 should be released this tuesday the 29th. The same day we get the translation for chapter 6 can't wait!

I think the logical progression would be something like, the west star attacks the Oda soon, and caesar suddenly pops out to rescue them, saying that he is now an ally since he has married Ichi (ofc this will make Nobu and Mitsu angry) but like in the anime, Nobu and co will probably come to accept him eventually

Then again this show is unpredictable

Ok so according to fangirl the anime DVD blu ray which includes a special CD which so far has commentaries in it will change to DRAMA CD from DVD set no 5 onwards, naturally she is hoping that it will be where we will finally find out caesar x ichis untold story

After all that could be the reason the supervisor guy didnt want to elaborate even though he more or less confirmed there was

so there is still hope, and ill be buying it when im in japan lol

I would like for it to explore why the dragon helped. Honestly that right there qualifies Caesar as savior king more than Mitsu. XD

I REALLY hope it does down path 2 there. And I agree that's more likely to happen.

That would be neat for Caesar to be helped by the dragon against the bad guys! (Yeah, I really want that!)

I agree, Quo Vadis really makes it that Caesar is destined for that and will always be tied with Ichi.

LOL, yes, the Oda will need Caesar as Nobu can't hold them off. XD

Yeah, no matter what Caesar just wanted Ichi happy and to spend time with her, so the manga should follow that.

Oh! For Caesar x Ichi's story to be told in a drama CD would be good! And yeah, it would make sense with him not elaborating since they're doing that. There's hope!

So my translation of Ichis character song was a little inaccurate, the line where she said she will wait for caesars return to tell him her feelings actually is more accurately something like

'Therefore I will keep waiting, no matter how long, for your return, to tell you (referring to her feelings obviously)'

I guess it makes things a little more romantic that way

Well the manga was updated and there was no surprises i guess, Caesar seems to be impressed with the east people's spirit (seems like he actually respects them), and Nobuhide was actually a badass compared to the manga

Also Caesar seems to be going to the takeda with Ichi to get nobukatsu treated? i wonder how things will play out from now on, but kenshin is in the manga, so we might see takeda and kenshin rivalry that wasnt shown in the anime, with nobukatsu there, i have no idea how the story will play out from now, but Ichi and Caesar is probably going to have more screentime, i just hope he doesnt do the backstabbing thing and give her a bad impression

Hmm, I think that line in a way left it a little ambiguous is you count the fact when it was releases and all.

Yeah, it looks like Caesar is serious about not attacking the Oda since he said that he was going to make an alliance with Takeda, but that not to worry that it won't be for attacking the Oda territory.

The magazine updated with the newest chapter. It was short and had no Ichi X Caesar It started of confusing though. It looks like they are going more into detail about Arthur's past. The last panel was Nobukatsu all better with Nel and Bianchi.

No that line was not ambiguous.. the song was released right after the episode where mitsu returned safely so it can only refer to caesar and it was in the second part of the song about caesar so yeah

about the next chapter..

First that snapshot of the future, lol Ichi is an idol singer and Mitsu is with Machiavelli (they make a good pair since Mitsu keeps doing machiavellian evil shit)

And more background on arthur, and OK seriously that guy who fought arthur for guinvere aka one of arthurs knights look very SUSPICIOUSLY like Caesar, especially that hair and cloak....

(it cant be that guinevere is the guy he fought over right? but its possible that arthur uses a different face now, and that excalibur connection hmm)

And at the end of the chapter it seems sometime has passed, nobukatsu seems to have fully recovered and is getting along with the twins... it would be hilarious if next time we see caesar and ichi they were already lovers lol..

And judging from this episode, the female voice in jeannes visions is guinevere?

Sucks that we have to wait until 26 of august now, at least its less than a month..

Yeah, the beginning is a little strange, though I did lol when I saw Ichi with the 3 ninjas as an idol group XD. Mitsu and Machiavelli is a little weird and Alexander as a construction worker XD. I skimmed through it fast but I didn't notice Caesar in it? The Arthur scene is actually what I can't wait to see translated. I'm surprised this chapter was short again for a monthly manga aren't they mostly 40+ pages.

Just reread the chapter then... you can see arthur fighting a guy with guinevere behind said guy, and that guy looks like caesar (in particular the cloak which has dots on it like caesars cloak though its not very clear)

There was a lot of rivalries we heard about in the anime, but was never shown. XD Yeah... Hope Caesar doesn't do that. I personally have no problem with him doing that, but it would look bad to Ichi.

LOL, Ichi as a singer I can totally see! And Mitsu & Niccolo... I could ship that if I wasn't shipping Mitsu x Suffering so much... wait, being with her would probably add to it. XD But yeah, they match, they really do.

Seriously? That could have been the woman Caesar fought over. Well, the woman Arthur turned into had blonde hair like she did. So yeah, probably is her...

(I'm thinking it is. Caesar could also be Lancelot so easily (Lancelot was from France/Gaul). I was thinking it was Cleopatra or someone like that he fought over, not Guinevere as well, I thought she would have died a long time ago since he looks so old, but Arthur could have forced a much younger woman to marry him.)

I would so love if Caesar and Ich are. LOL Interesting with how Nobukatsu is getting along with the twins.

Well the resemblance is uncanny.. i can definitely see Caesar trying to seduce guinevere though... fits his personality, the hair and the cloak... i cant believe its a coincidence that lancelot looks totally like Caesar

The original knights of the round doesnt seem to exist as well, so its possible that the historical figures took their place and caesar is lancelot, dont think it has a connection with the aphrodite figure though

Well the ending of the chapter goes into the takeda lands and nobukatsu so it will probably start there next chapter... who knows, the way the twins talked to nobukatsu it seems that sometime has passed and nobukatsu clearly has gotten to know the twins..

So who knows much 'relationship development' has occured between caesar and ichi offscreen lol....

one can only hope, i just hope that next time we see them they are getting along well or at least caesar is already in the process of wooing her

well a couple other round table members were mentioned in narration like shingen, they cut corners there...

IDK it just seems convenient that we were given that mask story in the anime but it was never explored until now we are given the possibility that the woman was guinevere.. also the anime never specifically mentioned guineveres name like the manga so its possible that the manga is trying to get into more details on the stuff unexplored in the anime

With the manga considerably different i wonder if we get to see a choco cake scene

Hmm, the whole knights thing just made this both interesting and confusing LOL.. I can definitely see Caesar as Arthur's Lancelot since it was him that betrayed Arthur and all that stuff. Though I think it would also work if he was Tristan and Ichi being Isolde with their tragic love and all T_T.

I'm a little torn whether i'd like to see Ichi and Caesar all lovey dovey or still testing the waters XD. I mean Ichi I think will be a little grateful for Caesar keeping his word, but it was his fault in the first place XD. Anyways luckily Aldnoah.Zero is keeping me busy waiting on the next chapters.

Well if caesar is lancelot (based on his cloak and his hair he is more than likely to be) then i doubt he can be tristran or whatever

Personally i would prefer that she has somewhat warmed up to him but is still somewhat cautious of him like how she was in ep 14 before she asked him to rescue the oda, i think if caesar and ichi will happen, their relatioship will probably only be concrete after she asked him to save the oda

To put it simply, like in the anime, no matter how attracted ichi is to caesar, for a proper relationship and romance to develop, she needs to come to trust him, and for that to happen, he has to make up for his past misdeeds (by saving the oda)

i still think that jeanne will get kidnapped and the gang will have to go to the western planet, similar to the anime, just that the way things happen might be different, but the general plot of caesar turning against the round table for ichi should remain,

Yeah, I agree Ichi needs to come to trust Caesar in order for a proper relationship to blossom. Something I didn't mention was how it's interesting Mitsu didn't mention to the others that Ichi left with Caesar.

While it seems to be your standard mech show it looks like it's avoiding some of the tropes associated with the genre. I would definitely recommend it though. I already have my OTP for the show which like Ichi x Caesar I don't think will make it T_T.

If that site had all of them that are in listed then just Isolde and Hellawes (she's creepy). Servilia, Brutus's mom and Caesar's lover (when he was 15 too! Which I recently found out there was even rumors that Brutus was Caesar's son). There are some other historical figures there that Caesar could have had as lovers considering their history/legend. Really, when I was going through the list that what stuck out to me. LOL

Oh, really? That's interesting, I'll look into it. That doesn't sound good. Wonder if I would ship it, and if I did it is doomed. XD Seriously, my pairings tend to not become canon or not make it.... I even made jokes with my friends that me shipping a pairing curses it. XD LOL

I haven't really been paying attention to the game since I can't understand or translate it, but it is interesting to see other historical figures apart of the "Fool" world.

If you do get into it I'm sure you'll ship them 1st ep since they are looking to be the popular pairing of the show. Well that sucks XD.

I was just curious as to who the other charas were and Google translate, well helped. XD It got mainly more female charas in (Mitsu's daughter I believe is in it), and on the Western side mainly queens got in. Even a valkyrie, Brunnhilde (who is in Richard Wagner's famous opera) is in it. And Semiramis, who in legends went to war against a kingdom because the king refused to marry her. Also, Maria, Nagasmasa's sister is in, and what's interesting about her is that she looks like she's wearing completely Western clothes (the only Easterner to) and she has silver hair like Caesar.

You're really making me want to watch it now! Yes, it does. XD

I think Mitsu was in denial when she saw him leaving, that said manga Mitsu doesnt seem to have much of a connection with Ichi (we havent seen a single interaction between them) and last chapter he never mentioned her or angst about her

I think many fangirls get disappointed when their ships sink because they tend to ship ships that are likely to sink , i.e those 'unconventional' drama romance stories

For example you ship caesar and Ichi, lets be honest, it was never likely to happen, with caesar killing her father and her seemingly already having feelings for Mitsu, but then they seemed to look cute together and you started to hope...

I was (pleasantly) surprised that caesar and ichi got to happen, but most people expected that the best thing to happen to happen was caesar would die and Ichi would be sad but still retain her feelings for mitsu (after all in ep 13 she told mitsu shes going to caesar STRICTLY for the good of the clan)

Many shippers hoped that caesar and Ichi would happen, but realistically it was very unlikely, so maybe if you were shipping the ships that were likely to sink, thats why you keep getting disappointed= because the ships you like are those with tragic nuances and were always likely to end badly

even caesar x ichi ended on a bittersweet note (though there is realistic hope of them meeting again in another life, with da vinci also in that dumb museum) but the point is the caesar x ichi ship was always likely to end in tragedy (which it did, even though the romance blossoming was a pleasant surprise)

Hmm, you bring up some good points there. Shipping always takes a back seat when I watch a show, and when I do ship it's usually pairings that have a 90% chance of happening so I'm never really disappointed. Caesar x Ichi becoming canon was definitely a surprise if you look at how they started. Granted it only became canon a few minutes before their deaths T_T.

In the anime it was hinted since ep 2 that Mitsu had a thing for Ichi and they had a number of interactions and up to ep 9

But in the manga they were never shown to speak to each other so i will call BS if it turns that way

Well considering ichis chara song their feelings were mutual by the end of ep 18 even though they didnt meet (so its kind of a star crossed lovers thing)

The thing is couples that i like usually are those with good chemistry and are likeable

For me Mitsu is a fag whose suffering is well deserved and he is annoying too (lots of people seem to agree)

While Caesar was a gentleman and prince charming since meeting her, so naturally for me caesar x ichi was more likeable, for me they just seemed to have proper chemistry so i chose to ship them, and those usually happen in the end

Only recent ships that sunk for me in recent memory was haruto x saki in Valvrape (dont particularly hate shouko but saki is much bettter imo) that said haruto died so neither won i guess both girls were still hung up over him a few hundred years later(they were immortal lol)

even then haruto got to have sex with saki (though it was semi-rape lol)

Oh, I had some ships that sailed, but whenever there's a question of who will be shipped with who, I usually lose. Those with obvious pairs are different (okay, not all the time XD).

Mitsu is! Though I hate to say I have seen a worse character. XD

In Vampire Knight, at first I had an OTP but then Yuki just got to be the most ridiculous thing (she was even worse than Jeanne with going back and forth), so I didn't want her to end up with anybody. That series had the weirdest ending and she ended up having a child by both guys. It never resolved the love triangle. Wow! That's great! I didn't expect Caesar to be on the back like that. And of course he's holding his mask whne you can't see his face. XD

BTW, I have started watching Aldnoah.Zero and am really enjoying. 3 eps in and will watch the 4th ep soon. And if you ship Slaine/Princess (really what other pairing is there? XD), then you are correct, I do ship it. And lol @ Sakurai's chara (he keeps voicing the pathetic charas XD).

Glad you like it. Yeah, currently it looks like they are the most popular and only pairing at the moment. Still i'm keeping my eyes on Inaho I hope the princess doesn't fall for him like it happens in most Mecha shows. Yeah, a little glad to see Sakurai gone XD.

Well im in japan atm on holiday and im planning to grab the dvd box 4, hopefully tomorrow, hopefully the booklet which summarizes the episodes in detail and bonus CD has some extra info,

Set 5 with caesar is out on the end of this month is what i really want though

IDK about the couples yet but the soundtrack is awesome in aldnoah

Yeah my first thought about the back cover is that, it would be more suitable if its the cover of the next blu ray, it does seem like the picture is likely before Caesar left for the west star and after saying goodbye to her (and of course she saw how he looked without the mask).. that was my first thought

BTW the manga author the blog the author just reconfirmed that the manga will be entirely its own route, he also mentioned twice that Caesar, Ichi , and nobukatsu are going to play a different role (it seems that those 3 will be together for awhile ) , and also that the round table dynamics will be different, i wonder if those 3 will make a new power (along with nobunaga and the west star)

I hope there will be proper romance between those two though

You know, it wasn't till the end of ep 4 that I even thought that Inaho might end up with the princess. I hope she doesn't too, especially with her and Slaine's background (and with how he's doing everything for her).
