This was an awesome episode! It was harsh that DyBre set fire to Eiji's guitar but I loved it ;) and then Koyuki got to play on stage with them- so amazing!
The second half was okay. Izumi is back and that's all Koyuki could think of! He's had a crush on her forever and now she's basically confessing to him. He should have gotten in touch with Maho when he learned she called him but he's young and makes mistakes. I love how genuine this show is with all the character's flaws. No one is perfect.
Not to take away Maho's feelings, she absolutely has the right to be hurt, but showing up with sparklers in a super dramatic way?! That was ridicules- but she's not perfect either haha

I really liked Izumi at first. But I mean come on, you don't talk to the guy for like a year and then suddenly show up when he's famous. She even stopped going to the rehearsals. She probably banged her boyfriend too. She may look all sweet and nice on the outside, bit she's a freaking groupie and gold digger. Maho's not exactly perfect either. She's a bitch a lot of the time and always hangs out with these weird stuck up foreigner friends. If you forget about koyuki and hang around a bunch of douchbags (she was practically laying on the guy's shoulder) don't go shedding tears when koyuki hangs out with other girls.

Fucking Izumi. You fucking liar. Yeah right. Now you fucking have feelings for him right, you gold digging whore. You realized too late??? What the fuck does that mean??? Are you an idiot?? You friendzoned him for years bitch.

HAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

Well this episode had some twists and turns. Koyuki's spontaneous performance was great. He was shy at first but totally hit the stage. He could aim for a solo career as well haha.

Seeing Matt burning Eiji's guitar like that on stage was just rude. And this is Dying Breed's lead singer right... He could've known better but I guess he just wanted to be a jerk.

Maho is messing with Koyuki's head. Poor boy. And now he is swimming with Izumi again. I didn't realise it was her until she asked him about Maho though. They almost look the same. This episode ended on a rough note and I am wondering if this suicide will affect BECK in any way...

Just rockstars being rockstars. Then again, I didn't like the sleazy partnership with the businessman. Seemed only concerned with promoting the red-haired guy than anything Dying Breed cared about. Matt simply didn't think he was good, or what his manager was scheming, so he retaliated by showing them real musical talent by bringing Koyuki on stage.

Can't believe we're going through this love-triangle shtick though. Hate when this trope happens. You gotta think before you act, Koyuki. >.>

This is why i fucking hate the fandom of beck(specifically the fans who seem to rlly adore maho’s whole attitude and personality). Ya'll are so blinded by Maho's feisty attitude when she's extremely manipulative, hypocrite, and selfish. honestly, Yukio deserves the best and a better woman. Maho ruined Yukio's friendship with one of his long term friends. I srsly see nothing wrong with Yukio hanging out with his friends, isn't that normal? Maho was fucking selfish, she was possessive over Yukio, manipulated him, and can't even respect his own friends especially Izumi who was genuinely kind to her. While on the other hand, Maho flirts and hangs out with a lot of her guy friends. talk about hypocrisy, am I right? and the difference between Izumi and Maho's friends was that Izumi was really sweet to Maho, however Maho's friends were a bunch of dicks to Yukio. how can yall continue to call Izumi a groupie and annoying? the term 'groupie' is different from being a 'friend' pls get your definitions right. I srsly don't understand Maho, she didn't even have a crush on Yukio but was extremely jealous of his friend hanging out with him yet continues to hang out with a lot of guy friends? I came to watch this anime just for the rock music itself since I'm into rock but what I got was a badly written drama story and a character lol and the plot itself just sucks. really had me confused when I saw that a lot of people actually liked Maho and calls Izumi a groupie smh I'm done. And lastly, just my opinion though but I guess Maho was only written to add drama to the story which was really unnecessary. could've made a better female character than Maho, but oh well this fandom just really into toxic women, huh?

edit: and how can you feel bad for maho but not yukio who had just lost his long term friend and ends up with a strongly manipulative woman?

watching izumi's "confession" i thought now that he is "cool" you realized you loved him? i always thought she had feelings but he just wasnt cool enough for her to admit those feelings. as for maho i was thinking "werent you doing the exact same thing with those other guys?" so i just cant like either of them, if i were to choose between them i'd go for maho because her feelings seem stronger, and now that she was in the same situation maybe she will understand how tanaka felt when he saw her with those guys and stop hanging out with them

Will she at least get a character development? Rlly hoped there would be a better and not a toxic love interest for Yukio cause I feel so bad for him. And yes It's mainly a slice of life and about music which I enjoy to but damn the romance is badly written which ruined the whole story for me. Just my opinion though ;))

she gets absolutely no character development, and we get so little romance that i think this really shouldn't have romance tag. right around when i was writing my comment here i was thinking i wish there was a 3rd better girl for yukio which we meet later on but... wouldnt wanna spoil if you havent watched that far.

the romance was a big disappointment for me as well, but their last song "slip out" pretty much describes whats going on so when you get to it i'd recommend paying careful attention to the lyrics

ps. maho is still terrible until the end and worst moments are still when you see her on the screen but you see her so rarely that it really doesnt matter.

feel free to spoil me, but do you mean Hiromi Masuoka?? found it a complete waste for me to watch the whole anime and I couldve dropped it. I honestly liked the story at first but the way they abandoned some characters and gave no character developments whatsoever bothered me since I only go for well written stories. It had great potential and they couldve abandon Maho but oh well toxic women <//3 and lastly, don't you find it confusing as to why so many people like her or fancy her and how this manga/anime seems to be rlly popular?? ;//

((again, just my opinion, not trying to offend those who enjoy this story a lot))

honestly i enjoyed this quite a lot i cant really explain why, it feels like a low budget anime like as if they dumped all the budget into music and the rest sucked, there was a lot of forced unnecessary drama, no romance whatsoever, friendships etc were all superficial and there was no real deep bonds to speak of, like compared to nana everything about this show was worse but somehow i enjoyed this 10 times more than nana. might be because i actually like the music in this and nana's music was just meh, nana also had some writing faults while beck is more internally consistent, beck also has an ending, not a good one but still.

anyway, i dont really know what you exactly mean by well written but beck is all about abandoning everything and focusing on music and you see it both in the story as well as in the MC and that makes it well written although its not the way we would have wanted it to be written its still well written

oops sorry to confuse you there. I guess i meant for stories that are decent with nothing bad about it. but i guess i went too harsh since I didn't acknowledge the good parts of the story, which is the music of course. Rlly enjoyed the music and yeah pretty agree with you there about the nana music. Though I like the writing more in nana.

I'm glad Yukio was seen with another girl

Maho sold him a dream and put him in the friend zone
Plus she was seen talking to three other guys
No wonder who is breaking her back while he isn't around

Now my boy Yukio better not get back with Maho

You are absolutely right. Female manipulation happens all the time in real life
I liked how realistic this episode was & how they showed the audience that female manipulation is not a good thing.

Izumi is such a groupie

Since everyone here is misusing the word groupie, I guess I am now called a groupie as well since my cousin is in a band and I hang out with them sometimes.

Unfortunately, people have been brainwashed by maho's 'cool emo girl' mind controlling powers and made them ignore about her actual toxic self whos also a player.

I just cannot stress enough my hatred of Izumi in this episode (gold digging bitch) although Koyuki is to blame in this situation as well. You don't bite the hand that feeds you. Especially if said hand has spectacular tits and an amazing voice. #TeamMaho

Fucking ironic and funny how a lot of you guys call Izumi a gold-digging whore because of what she’s ‘doing’ yet you guys are sleeping on the fact that maho is somewhat a player who hangs out with even more guys than Izumi, even acts super flirtatious when Izumi doesn't, and not to mention hurts Koyuki’s feelings. Izumi just being all innocent and sweet but gets so many hate however everyone’s quiet about maho who’s way worse acting like a real bitch? Fully losing my brain cells right here just by reading the comments in this discussion. Everyone, remember to touch some grass okay?

i tried my best to continue this anime but i can't handle this bad storywriting anymore. Koyuki's singing song randomly in the secret concert with maho's finding the izumi and koyuki in the pool are enough to skip this anime. How can you write and connect these stories so badly. I really wonder this.

I won't continue to this anime but i hope koyuki chooses maho instead of this izumi b*tch.

The song in the first few minutes of the episode was decent, surprisingly. The instrumentation must've did it some favours.

Yoshito needs to be whacked over the head with a cement brick.
