An actual physical copy is my preference, but since my favorite manga is (choke!) $12 a pop I'm won't be buying any other series for a long while.

If I like it enough and am going to read it again, I either buy it if it's released or I download it with the DomDom Soft Manga Downloader, save it on my computer and just read it with the manga reader program Manga Meeya. If I am not that into or can't find it elsewhere, I will just read it online...

I prefer reading the actual book. I read them primarily on trips, so I take them with me. I don't like to read it online, even if it was downloaded (doesn't require internet).

This. Too bad that a lot of good manga titles are not translated in English but that can't be helped.

I always preferred physical books over digital as they just feel better to me, however, since I'm not rich and can't afford to buy every book or manga I would like to read I will only buy books I am really into in print and go with digital for the others.

I prefer a real manga as opposed to a digital one. However, I am not that lucky to have many series licensed in my language.

I guess my priorities are always like this:

If available / possible, I prefer them phisically. It's a whole different experience. Actually, the whole story seems to merge in a better way, as do the art style. It happened to me once with D.Gray-Man. When I read them chapters online, I just could'nt stand the story, but then I decided to give the paper volumes a chance, and now I really like it.

If there's no way to find the physical version, I serch for whole volumes in scanlators' sites and download them, so I can read the story with my manga reading program.

The last solution is, and will always be... *sigh*... online manga readers.

I prefer it to have it in my hands. But since most mangas that I read, aren't for sale, I read them online. And because I don't have that much money, I only buy those I really like and want. So mostly online.

Yeah, real manga is the best. Especially one's with really detailed covers. Blade of the Immortal and One Piece are very rewarding in that respect.

I'm not happy that in order to keep up with current weekly manga I have to read scanilations but I do intend to buy and own physical copies of all the series I love.

Nothing beats the feel of a manga in your hand or the nice sight of a series spread across a shelf. I wish I didn't love One Piece and Naruto so much...one day they will have all my money.

Reading from the actual book is better, but not all the manga that I want to read are translated and published where I live so I read them online (also if I have the money and a manga that I like is published I will buy it :D)

Online for long ongoing mainstream manga.

I purchase the 2-20 volume manga. (excluding Dragon Ball, I'm planning to complete that eventually)

I've finished most of the mangas that I love through online manga hosting websites, but I like buying a manga. The only problem is that the book store I often buy mangas from sells the same volumes everytime I go there, so I read online.

Online. I like reading it on a large screen that I don't have to look down at. Plus, I'm frequently online, so I can switch between manga and other things more easily. I still buy manga because I like owning physical copies of things, but I always read online first to make sure I like it, and even if I own the manga, I usually still read it online. I only use hard copies for when I'm out somewhere.

I'd honestly rather take the risk and (if it's available in the US) buy volume one of a manga that looks promising instead of reading it online. Since I'm pretty bad at judging manga unless it's just SO terrible that all it's flaws are easily sticking out it's not that hard for me to enjoy a manga and I haven't wasted my money yet.

Despite this, I can't and won't buy every manga that looks nice, and when I can't I just read it on my iPod since the screensize and what not is much more convenient for reading manga.

Ahaha, back when I worked as a waitress at a place right next to a bookstore I bought way too much manga. A large majority of the total tip money I made working there for two years went towards manga. I'm not particularly ashamed of that, though I probably should be.

If that doesn't answer your question, I like actual manga. Though, now that I'm at university I don't have my collection and I'm always broke, so I'm getting into reading them on my iPad instead. I don't really like reading on my computer though. I get distracted and end up somewhere else - usually MAL.

Obviously the real ones are much Superior but digital ones when put on a kindle DX (which is what i do) is a good enough substitute when you have no money or nowhere to buy manga.
No matter where you go, everyone's connected.

Like most, I prefer manga in book form. I've read the first few chapters of some manga online and hated them, but when I managed to get hold of the manga in book form I immediately felt more engaged and enjoyed them, so I think the medium is very influential. If I know there are volumes of a manga that I want to read at my local libraries, then naturally I'm going to pick them over online translations/scans.

I much prefer reading them in book form, the only time I read them digitally are when they either aren't available or the English version gets cancelled before completing. My main problem with online is that I get too easily distracted and end up opening other windows and losing my place in the manga!
