Clannad + After Story (might make you cry though) and if you loved Clannad make sure to also watch Kanon (2006) and maybe Air they're not so much of a comedy though but more drama, Toradora!, Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuuutsu, Shakugan no Shana, Mayo Chiki!
Try Shiki (noir'ish vampire type. the main character dies and stalks the boy she likes. The town in plauged my mysterious deaths... To me it was a bit trippy especially with the times where it is so freakin quiet and you were just watching the town) Elfen Lied (a mutated 'thing' that is programed to kill in way gruesome ways but looks like a innocent little girl) Paranoia Agent (mind trip for reals!) FLCL (more comedy but still is kinda trippy) Neon Genesis Evangelion (scifi, mech and the story line is more messed up crazy w a wtf to it then anything) Le Portrait de Petit Cossette (I didnt like it but its a trippy one that from the word go you are like WTF) dead leaves (odd and crazy) Speed Grapher I loved this one!!! (not too creepy but more on the trippy side of it. Way out there story that if you ever go to tokyo you will never look at Roppongi the same!)
:c)
is hands down my all time favorite anime. its ability to deliver serious arcs in a short amount of eps to me is a great set up. its not like other long running shounens where they have long and dragged out arcs in order to fulfill the requirements needed to advance the plot.
but on the other side i can see this being a bit of a shortcoming for those that r seriously into the big 3, because the one thing that makes them different from gintama is they have actual progression to a clear goal. but imo, this makes gintama unique. because it does not focus on progressing to one thing they have the ability to make a serious arc out of anything, and since there is no long term goal to go for, they can keep it short, simple, and highly enjoyable.
on top of their plot set up they r very rich in comedy, even in some of their serious arcs they will throw in some occasional jokes! it also has a fair balance of ecchi, not excessive in fan service at all. its not repetitive, there is always something new in every arc, it is a very random anime :D. the action scenes r very heavy budget and epic quality! i swear, when they save up from w/e they make from the series they dump loads of money into a few eps on their serious arcs. the cast is highly enjoyable. one of the biggest upsides is having kugirie as a seiyuu for one of the main characters in this series, i absolutely love her voice acting!
and u also get a very unusual lead protagonist. he lacks many qualities that u see in a lot of leads for this genre, he doesnt often show a sense of morals, his attitude is pretty cut back as well, and he never fails to look absolutely outrageous when the time calls for it. yet despite all this his ability in combat is amazing, he isnt like some1 who looks like a complete pushover and "whoa" suddenly pops back with a godly amount of strength. and this shows in how his partners treat him too, they have complete confidence when they r with him. they know that when they have him on their side, things r going to turn out well. and this is something i love seeing in a lead character, i do not believe i having some1 who technically is just a figurehead as far as the lead role goes. if any1 has the lead role, it should go to the most impressive person, and gintoki definitely matches that very discription
one more thing i have to say about this series, do no put it down just because its earliest eps were shit. yes i will admit to this, gintama has bad pacing early on in the series, and like many other long running shounens, will take time b4 u can truly enjoy it. but once u get to the more serious arcs u will start to see how amazing this anime can be. and ya believe me, it was very hard for me to force myself thru its dullness, but my friend kept driving me on to watch more, and once i started watching the better eps, i was hooked. i literally went thru about 170 eps in 2 months, it was the only thing i could even think about watching at the time and i was happy as hell when i got more into it. i actually h8ed it when i got caught up XD, life felt a little wierd after that point =/
and wow, looks like i got srsly into this, wasnt planning on making it that long, but i just felt like i had to keep typing about it @_@
i should copy/paste this and make a review lolz
I really want to watch Gintama but I don't like watching shows with subs. So I guess I'll have to wait because eventually they will create English Dubs for the show :)
haha, id like to see some1 with the balls to dub it XD
believe me, this anime will "never" get dubbed, ur better off just watching it subbed
gintama has been around for 6 years and it still has not been dubbed yet :P

The anime its self is sure to follow. So I doubt we will have to wait much longer. I mean look at naurto and bleach. Both are long running strong animes that people didn't think would ever get dubbed yet they are and are a big success.

Based off your completed list:
Itazura na Kiss
Ginban Kaleidoscope
Hanbun no Tsuki ga Noboru Sora
You completed Clannad but not After Story? I'd definitely watch AS too.
Then there's also Kanon 2006, Myself;Yourself and True Tears which I all enjoyed.
I also heard School Rumble, Ef - A tale of memories, H2O: Footprints in the Sand and sola are pretty good, although they're still on my PTW list.
5cm
School rumble is a rom-omedy (more towards the comedy)
Honey and clover
Gosick (even though its more a supernatural, mystery anime there is a love story)
Dance in the vampire bund (action, supernatural, vampire/wherewolf)
Romeo x juliet
Dragonaut
Macross (old school anime and art but its a space opera love story-ish anime)
The anime its self is sure to follow. So I doubt we will have to wait much longer. I mean look at naurto and bleach. Both are long running strong animes that people didn't think would ever get dubbed yet they are and are a big success.
lol it srsly would not take as much work to dub the movie as it would the series. there r just some things in the series that would not flow so well if it were to be dubbed. and theres no use in comparing any of the big 3 to gintama. it is in a completely different league from this. and believe me, ive known about the movie dub for a while now, i still cannot see the series getting dubbed :P
But here are the ones that I recommend... Gosick (supernatural, mystery)
Un-Go (supernatural, mystery)
Guilty Crown (mech, action, a little bit of mystery)
Tactics (supernatural, action, mystery, Yōkai And Ayakashi)
XXXHolic (supernatural, some mystery, Yōkai And Ayakashi)
Patlabor(crime, action, mech)
Mezzo DSA (action, crime)
R.O.D the TV (action, adventure, mystery)
Speed Grapher (action, mystery/crime, underworld Tokyo life)
The Galaxy Railways (action, adventure, mystery)
Witch Hunter Robin (action, supernatural, mystery)
You can also try
Darker than Black: it has mystery, action and sci-fi
Dantalian no Shoka: mystery involving books and the curses that come with them
Bakemonogatari: has some mystery, romance and supernatural appeal
Chaos;Head is a complete mind destroyer similar to Steins;Gate
Denpa teki na Kanojo

Hum... how about trying Ef - a Fairy Tale of the Two, the original visual novel instead? While the first season of the anime is probably watchable, Melodies is a very poor excuse of an adaptation, especially Yuuko's story. The only interesting thing in the anime version were fancy, experimental graphics.
If you aren't allergic to reading, and want a serious, romantic and dramatic story, give the original Ef a try, you won't be disappointed (although you'll probably end up sad, for obvious reasons).
As for anime that wasn't already mentioned, try:
- Iriya no Sora, UFO no Natsu
- Sola
- Shinigami no Ballad
- Kowarekake no Orgel

Yes, that's helpful!
I've watched "Gosick" and the end surprised me and disappointed a bit.
Criminal puzzles in this series weren't that good.
"Guilty Crown"? I've heard a lot of bad opinions about this series, like it's copy of CG.
Is it interesting? Is it worth the attention? (I mean GC, not CG)
Probably I'll watch "xxxHOLiC" again. ^ ^;

By bad! Must have missed that you had Gosick and XXXHolic on your completed list!
I would suggest watching the XXXHolic movie Mid Summers Night if you haven’t seen it yet. Not as good as the show but its worth watching!
I personally like Guilty Crown and don’t really see why people hate it so much. I am not one of those people that nitpick at the technical aspects of a show though. Either I like it cause it entertains me or not lol. It’s the same with Vampire Knight. People HATE that anime with a passion but I actually liked it. But back to GC. The story line is what interest me the most along with the mech. I would suggest giving it a try at least and see what you think of it. :c)
Hypercardiac said: I personally like Guilty Crown and don’t really see why people hate it so much.
I second that.
Granted, it isn't anything groundbreaking, but it's my favorite show of the season. So far I've preferred the second half's story greatly to the first part. The first part felt almost like an inverted 'monster-of-the-week' formula, but after that I really started to enjoy it.
As for it being similar to Code Geass, I personally don't see it. If anything, they feel like polar opposites. In Code Geass you've got Lelouch, the brilliant cocky mastermind, and Guilty Crown has Ouma Shou, a Shinji-type protagonist who for most of the series you wish he'd just grow a pair already. Honestly, about the only similarity I've noticed is that the protagonist joins up with a rebel/terrorist group to reclaim Japan with a dash of mecha thrown in. Well, that and super powers. :P
If nothing else, the art is beautiful and the soundtrack is amazing, so give it a try.

-Ai Haibara (Detective Conan)
Hey, I just finished Full Metal Panic Second Raid and am in the mood for that type of anime but having troubles finding something.
I really liked the fact protagonist is strong, has confliction within himself and nice fight scenes. The comedy was nicely intertwined in also, so with that I was hoping on something on those lines. Doesnt have to be a mecha series but kinda preferable.
kinda want nice animation also .
Any recommendations help:) thanks:)
I would suggest: Vandread (mech, comedy, sci-fi)
Gundam Wing (mech, action)
Code Geass (mech, action)
Toshokan Sensou (action, comedy)
Escaflowne (adventure, fantasy, action, romance)
Mobile Suit Gundam (adventure, mech, sci-fi)
Macross (a bit old, but its sci-fi, mech, adventure, romance and a the protagonist that fights with what he really wants to do, who he wants to be with and what is right)
Canaan (action,adventure, supernatural)
Star Driver (action, mech, sci-fi-ish)
