The 35th sentai is almost upon us! With announcement of the assured humongous 35th anniversary film that'll have every sentai member and every robo in the entire series, I felt it was right to finally create this thread.. What we know: -It's the first ever pirate-based sentai. -Apparently, their attacks are based on dances. This is an homage to the first Super Sentai: Battle Fever J. -Toru Furuya is the narrator. Most famous for playing Amuro Ray in Mobile Suit Gundam, he also provided the voice of AkaRed in GoGo Sentai Boukenger Vs. Super Sentai. Coincidence? I think not. All other information seems to be just speculation at this point. So, are YOU hyped for this grand glorious gathering of all super sentai? I know I am...but after Kamen Rider Decade and its epic amounts of disappointment, I am slightly pessimistic about this show's outcome. |

So, from their descriptions: Red = Luffy Blue = Zoro (except that Zoro is manly) Yellow = Nami Green is more or less like Usopp Pink is Vivi. OP vibes are off the charts. |

I'm beyond glad they're bringing veteran actors back for this series, even if a few of them are voice-only. This is already shaping up to be a satisfying sentai celebration. Yeah, the One Piece similarities are....wow. But hey, I love One Piece, so maybe I won't mind so much. :P New Promo + leaked opening: http://www.jefusion.com/2011/01/kaizoku-sentai-gokaiger-3rd-promo.html The opening sounds great. :D |

even the Op sounds One Piecey... I like One Piece too, if they use the other sentai worlds or situations like Oda uses islands in OP it's going to be epic. |

So, can Green transform into black rangers? And does yellow changes sex? What about the extra rangers from the series with a 3-man team? |

I'm not sure about the 3-man team though. Only one they'd have to worry in that sense is Sun Vulcan, though. Here's the final promo, plus the passing of the torch from GoseiRed to GoukaiRed. http://www.jefusion.com/2011/02/kaizoku-sentai-gokaiger-preview-passing.html Less than one week to go, guys... |

I always get nostalgic when I see the reds passing the torch. Specially when I liked the series that just ended. From the promo they all can turn into reds, so I think the color doesn't matter. |

The first episode was AWESOME. Good fights, interesting characters, a bit of comedy, awesome fights and it pays the tribute the other sentai deserve. if they keep it up it might be even better than Shinken and Bouken. They didn't save money in this 1st ep. And man they'll sell a lot of those form changing figures. The "pokemonsentai rap" at the ending was cool. I guess they'll have at least three endings. 1 Awesome 34 sentai fight. They must've used A LOT of suit actors... Cool space battle with nice CG and mecha rider kick! Come on Goukaigers, you're pirates. Steal your food! I liked the villains. A lot going on and they seem to have personality. I liked the brattyness of the prince and their overall chemistry. The tutorr, the muscle and the female scientist Curry scene was funny. I wonder if they're goint to keep this slapstick comedy in the show. What a genre savvy teacher! Parrying and shooting and then throwing the sword? Nice, red. So they all have a saber anda flintlock pistol, but they exchange them. Yellow used Kratos' sword! Wtf garbage truck! So, tehy can turn into rangers of the oppsite sex, but they use the right colthes. Blue had a male Magiranger vest and yellow a female one, while Magiblue was a girl and yellow a guy. The show is answering some questions really quickly. I like how unreal their fighting poses look. very anime-esque. Being badass and saying it was for the curry was cheap, but still awesome. Oh yeah, and the girls are very cute XD |

Episode 1: All righty, that was fairly cool. :D Great fight at the beginning, it definitely had more of an epic feel than the Rider War at the beginning of Kamen Rider Decade. Woot for original AkaRanger too. The Goukaigers are gonna take a while to grow on me, actually. That's the problem with not having an origin episode, it takes a lot longer to get acquainted with these characters and their quirks. GoukaiGreen definitely gave me the most, out of all of the cast, One Piece vibes Nice to see a mecha fight that wasn't as embarrassingly clunky as other sentai of the past. Good start, I think this show is now automatically better than either Go-Onger or Goseiger. XD |

I dug the first episode. I think a lot of the shows production is inspired by One Piece. As for the transformations, I am fairly certain it can be any person, not limited to one color/sex. The actual characters don't change sex, its just a suit change, pretty much. Also, it was revealed that a sixth Gokaiger will show up, and he'll have the ability to turn in to every "special" ranger. I'm happy to see where this goes. Go-Onger was honestly my favorite, and this is well on its way to knocking that out (I really liked Gekiranger, too, though, but Go-Onger really won me over by giving the Engine's personalities and such, it was very entertaining). Also, no, I am not just saying it because the chick who played Kagereshia used to be an AV star, nor because shes super hot. Although, that has a bit to do with it. :D EDIT: Also, I saw a commercial for the toy version of the Gokaiger transformation device. It has all of the Sentai's call signs in it, however, at the end of playing them all it yells "Kamen Rider! OOO!". Many are taking it as a small sign that a crossover between OOO amd Gokaiger, which would be awesome because I really enjoyed the Shinkenger/Decade crossover. |

The problem is that since they started it, they didn't do it right once. But Goukaiger made me have hope again. Episode 2 peaceful lifestyle? On earth? Oh yeah I forgot earth = Japan... So marvelous has some story with Akared, which probably isn't dead, since we didn't see a body... poor doc being abused by Luka... Pink seems to be the responsive one. Man, those foot soldiers are very resorcefoul. they have, machine guns, axes and RPGs. And they were killing people too. That isn't very common. The boy transforming felt like one of those things in which they dress up a boy nad make a sentai movie with him... And he did more in one episode than Nozomu in all Goseiger... Very cool fight. I don't remember anyone using a human Gormin Shield in a sentai before. Shooting the rockets too. Male HurricaneBlue looked very strange. Giant foot soldiers are always nice. The ginat fight was nice, but not exceptional. It'll be hard to top Geki... Marvelous rides the "figurehead" of Goukai Galleon, just like Luffy. Kai is all grown up now, though he still doesn't look much older. |

1 Rider war > Sentai..That being said. Awesome episode,I'm certain I'm going to stick around for this one. Red and Yellow are characters I'm going enjoy..while as always Pink being the annoying one....Please Marvelous can ya ''accidently'' stab her with a throwingsword move. Action was great although big ''???'' for the garbage truck and fail between Pink and Yellow while exchanging gear.. No money being spared..shame they couldnt get that rocketball good looking. Last; Kudos on that great last shot during the battle, very smooth looking All sail to episode 2. |

Chypne said: Rider war > Sentai..That being said. I'd agree with you if it wasn't for those random lasers in the Rider War. I can't think of many Kamen Riders who can fire lasers, so where did THAT MANY come from? Anywho, Episode 2: Woot for AkaRed. Good to see he is gonna play a major role in this story after all. I'm sure it's not by coincidence that the schoolboy was wearing Red under his uniform. The character definitely rubbed off as a Kai Ozu 2.0. Loved the team finisher. I wouldn't want to go up against GaoRed and GekiRed together. That woud hurt. The mecha fight was decent. Felt bad for the Smorgi (that's its name, right?) who got blasted by GoukaiOh's chest cannon. Haha, fashionable Jetman. Looks like Kai's actor is gonna have a blast playing the teacher character in the next episode. After playing such a dorky kid in Magiranger, it's definitely gonna be a nice change of pace for him. |

I don't know why people are comparing that fight with the rider war. The rider war was an important plot in decade, while that fight was just a short prologue. It was just a method to show the story. It's possible that they'll show some battles of that war against Zangyack with everything older sentai deserve in one of the arcs. |

I think its more than likely the Sentai War will be touched back upon later on. Much like how the Rider War was an ongoing plot device, they'll definitely keep bringing it up later on. |

Clearly the Super Sentai War is a major plot point since AkaRed "died" while fighting in the war, not to mention it's the reason why all of the past sentai lost their powers. |

@CC No he didn't. He wasn't shown in that battle. And we don't know if he's dead. He probably isn't, since the spirit of the red rangers can't die You have to understand that Rider War and Zangyack War are completely different things. Yes, Zangyack War will keep being brought up and as I wrote, they'll probably show specific battles. But it's something that already happened, unlike the Rider War, which was something that Tsukasa tried to prevent. Zangyack War isn't an "active plot". It's the premise. My point is: it's important, but it wasn't important to show it as was important to show the rider war. The rider war was between heroes, for their worlds. Zangyack war was a battle of good vs. evil. Also, Decade was a Heisei anniversary. They had stuff from 9 shows to use. Sentai war had 34. Rider series have normally two or three main riders, while the average sentai has 6 AND almost all have mecha. If they were going to use all that they would spend all their money and time in that battle and not with the goukaigers. |

3 Green episode. It wasn't that good. Kai didn't have the role I expected him to have. And magidragon looked very weird in GoukaiOh. The whole Magiranger deal would've benn better if they hadn't used Magiranger in the first ep. I didn't really care about Doc's cowardice plot. This episode would've been better if they used MJ's Black or white as BGM. That fight was nice. It was not a bad episode, but after the awesome first two, a slow one like that seems very weak. Flying sgormin and the new finisher were cool. |

Episode 3: I'm bummed more Magirangers didn't show up, but what we got was better than expected. Original BGM from Mahou Sentai Magiranger? "Maji" puns? That booming voice saying a new spell? The fanservice could've been better, but what we got wasn't bad at all. MagiDragon didn't look right coming out of GokaiOh's chest. The mecha looked far too bulky and not proportionate. I hope Kai shows back up. It'd be kind of lame if he just vanishes from rest of the series like that. |

4 I thought it would be a bue episode but it was a blue and pink one. That moment when she pulls his jacket was kinda cute. And I think the bluepink shipping will officially start now. They could've given Joe a real wooden sword or something for training. I know that the Goukai swrod looks like a toy, but it's his sentai sword. But that other sword looked too fake. Or better, they shouldn't have given it a close. Training to beat the enemy is always nice. I just hope he doesn't forget it during the series, as the Goseigers did. Gotoryu hahahaha. I knew he would pull of something like that when he said: if two isn't enough... I know holding multiple swords wouldn't really help but it was cool anyway. And that final wave too, thoug I found using Magiblue and GoseiBlue strange, since they don't use swords... The fights were well done and I really liked how they used Gekired and Gekiviolet's moves. I missed those Geki fights. Joe turned out to be cooler than I expected, though that baking and being shy side was unnecessary. But the hair they gave him is terrible. It doesn't suit the cool swordsman image at all. They should've lost the two fringes and made him use a bandana. Okay, next episode is going to be EPIC. I think they should do a special with info about other sentai like Boukenger did. I mean, it's the perfect occasion and it would help to understand the powers they use. |

Episode 4: The MOTW had a really cool suit design. It was like a combination of Joker from Kamen Rider Blade and Momotaros from Kamen Rider Den-O. But painted BLACK. OooooOooo. I hope my bro and I weren't the only ones who noticed the SCRTC logo while Ahim and Joe were shopping. That was an amazing Easter egg. I'm certain a few of those other signs were Easter eggs, but unfortunately Over-Time didn't translate them. Watching this episode made me really wanna rewatch Gekiranger. Seeing those suits and that fighting style made me really miss that sentai. Hmm...Joe could've been fine with three swords, huh? I wonder if that's a not-so-subtle reference to One Piece...man, Toei's not even trying to deny the comparison. XD I just realized how cute Luka is while watching this episode. It's like looking at a live-action Nami. That, and I normally find Yellow sentai women the most attractive in the entire team, no matter what sentai it is. Speaking of attractive Yellow sentai members....ihidshnofcdln DEKAYELLOW'S COMING BACK!!! *nose bleeds profusely once more, and the force of the eruption of blood lifts me off into outer space* |

Episode 5: Ugh...where have I seen that plushie on the police desk before? Man, Jasmine and Ban got screwed. I really didn't expect Doggie Kruger to be the main focus of the episode one bit. Seriously, this episode needed MOAR JASMINE!!! GRAHFAHGAGA!! D:< Ahh, what sweet Dekaranger memories. It's been too long since I watched that show, I oughta rewatch it someday. Well, at least this mecha looks a lot more convincing than the Magiranger one. The police lights are a lot less obtrusive than the giant bloody dragon. Luka's in a maid outfit next episode? 5 Isn'`t it lovely how Ahim bows before she runs from the police. Well I was expecting more Jasmine. That was unfortunate. Ban's part was very small. But hey, Kruger is badass and his interaction with Marvelous was very well done. But man, Gokaiger is awesome. The fight agains the gormin with Go-On and Dai was very nice and I like how they tend to give the Gokai that aren't the episode's focus something cool to do. It was also nice for them to have marvelous doing stuff without transforming. Since he does that without ransforming, what he does after transforming seems more credible. The Deka fight was cool, but the Deka theme playing made it totally awesome. Even the giant battle was awesome. GoukaiOh having a gun fu duel with the kaijin. And the whole time I was waiting for Dekaranger Robo's shooting side jump which they did and made me very happy. As for Deka GoukaiOh, it looks ok and far better than the dragon. But the dragon out of the gattai looks more impressive than patstriker. Awesome job again, goukaiger. 6 Maid Luka! She was awesome in this episode. Her maid fight and evenrything else. I was hoping for a sad story behind her greed, since she is Nami. I looks like Joe is the guy the ladies turn to in the group. what the hell, how could that guy not cara about Luka's greeting? And what about that really small room for the daughter in that bigass house? It`s like they used a company building to shoot or something... And man, that kaijin was priceless. He even sung Sun Vulcan`s theme. And in the end he got it good, since Luka provided him butt strike service in maid uniform and a leg lock to the head in Sun Vulcan form. Even the reaction from the commanders was funny. Again, the fights were awesome. Next ep: GekiJyuken Beast Arts training. Man, It`s going to be awesome again. |

Episode 6: Ahh, Luka. You have such a lovely....smile. *was totally not thinking of her butt* I dunno, I found the kaijin's nonstop banter to be a bit hilarious. It was funny without trying too hard to be funny. Great fight set-piece with Luka virtually blackmailing the rich dude while the kaijin reached out for him in the chair. Definitely a lot of creativity in this episode. *starts humming Gekiranger's theme* Ahh, next episode is gonna make me wanna watch Gekiranger. I just know it. |

7 Another great episode I like the wya they used the kaijin from Geki vs Bouken in this ep. Gil was funny and Insarn is very cool. Female commmanders are always good. It would be better if they used a cute girl instead of a costume though. Is it just me or do ou guys also find it strange that GoikaiOh's legs and arms have the same size even if they are kept within each other? And since they don't use the parts alone, they should've made Galeon a single mecha, like DaiVoyager. Maybe they intend to use new arms and legs in the future, but until now, having separate mecha for each Gokaiger was useless. So geki's power is just another finisher. I was thinking it would be hard if they had to come up with something to add from each sentai on GoukaiOh. With Jan, we had 3 old reds in the show. His part in the episode was very good. It reminded me of Go-on vs Geki, in which the Gekis trained the Go-Ons. Stealing Neko's... erMaster Shafu's job of stealing the triangle was funny. But I was really hoping to see Ran and Miki no ko... I mean, Natsume. As for the Gokaigers in the episode, it was nice to see that they're always training (even if Luka's training wouldn't really help that much). It was also nice to see the doc learning that he has to work hard instead of coming up with excuses. The fights were awesome again and they really used the beast themed sentai. Using the Doc/Ahim episode to use Sun Vulcan was a smart move. I really like how the red blue yellow trio reacted to having their weapons stolen and how they turned it in a counter in the second time. That scene with Doc and Ahim fighting the kaijin's main body while the others dealt with the hands was awesome. And that Geki 5-person attack was just too cool. They really know how to get their fan service right in Gokai. Another cool thing in this season is that they show a lot of interaction between the characters outside the battles and the main plot. And I think Joe is the one that brings the team together. People always go to him when in trouble. Again, there was some good comedy. Joe after buying clothes and Ahim's reaction was funny. There was a lot of small funny stuff in the episode, specially in the end. It's cool how they don't let the Gokais get beaten, because they have a lot of power from a lot of places. But they'll need to introduce a kaijin that really puts them in danger soon, so it becomes more epic. |

Episode 7: I'm bummed they didn't use Gekiranger's theme, but aside from that it was a great episode. That's where I knew the kaijin from! I knew that was bothering me for a reason. GekiRed by far has had the best role of all the Reds yet. MagiRed was out of character (still cool, though), DekaRed was far too brief, but this was just about perfect. Poor Joe, wearing the leopard print. He looked so sad. :( |

8 A solid episode. Not as awesome as some of the other ,but good. Nice to see that the Gokaigers cloak themselves, which explains why the enemies don't shoot them from space or attack them directly. It still doesn`t explains why Gil doesn`t rush earth with all his ships though. It was also nice to see that the enemy commanders use strategy and aren't there for show. Elder had Buggy's voice and I think younger had Onizuka's. A very funny kaijin. So, Joe was with the empire earlier. Why did he quit? And who were the red pirates? And what about Doc's past? The fights weren't that cool this time. |

Episode 8: Of course Buggy's VA had to be involved in this show somehow. The chemistry between the two villain brothers was fantastically funny. I reeeeally want to know more about the Gokaiger's pasts. Joe was in the Empire? Luka was a master thief? Capt. Marvelous was part of a rebellious group of pirates? Ahim was a princess of a destroyed kingdom? DON ISN'T WORTH WORRYING ABOUT?! :O Please tell us more, show! Awesome, GaoRed's coming back next episode. Sucks the rest of the cast isn't getting involved, however. |

The chemistry was good because younger was voiced by Mr. 3 I felt srs Leia vibes from Ahim, but now... They just need to do the hair. And yes, they've got a lot to show from the Gokaiger's past. I hope they keep these to the mid-series, which is always slow, so we can keep excited with the show. |

9 Nice use of turboranger and jetman keys. So sgormin can become ships while small. And They can become bikes too. They are a really useful bunch. Maybe I can dream with bikes in a Sentai again... The Gao fight wasn't that good (except for Joe), but the Gokai fight that moved GaoLion's heart was. GaoRed's role was pretty meh. And I really liked how Luka noticed that Doc and Ahim are having a lot of solo adventures. When GaoRed and Marvelous were in that staring contest, I thought this was going to be a Marvelous episode... The show pretty much divided the team into the caring duo, the cool duo and the badass leader. At least until now. I hope they give more time for Luka and Ahim together. GaoGoukaioh wasn't very cool. |

Episode 9: "I'm a veterinarian." *claps* Nice tribute to one of the best character entrances in a Super Sentai ever. Good to see GaoLion again. Reminds me that I need to really need to speed up on watching Gaoranger. These guys are very intuitive with their choice of forms. They manage this a whole lot better than Decade, who seemed to just change into the Riders when he just felt like it. I hope next episode, between its name and the sentai of choice, isn't the JAKQ Dengeki Tai episode. They HAVE to bring back Big One, after all. |

10 So, boukenger is good for dificult terrain and difficutl to reach places? Makes sense, though I think using jetman would be easier... LOL @ Luka's gormin suit, but it was very silly. Tricking the gormin, not so much, but even the Sgormin... And why the hell did she need that sleight of hand if she had manipulated the cards in the first place? I liked how Gil sent a fleet and how they explained why they don't just shoot everything from space. It feels strange having this level of care with the plot and using the Luka gormin suit just for the lulz... The way they conned the kaijin was nice, but they didn't need to con us to by having the others play in the galleon. Luka's final con was awesome. Luka's double sword and Joe's nitoryu were cool. Marvelous moves were also good and he used a triple kick. So their weapons turn into the other sentai weapons. Nice. Throwing the bomb at the fleet was also cool. The K, Q and J in the kaijin's deck were a nice touch. next ep Kaoru! And she'll have a contest with Joe. As predicted, Barizorg is Joe's sempai. Well, I was hoping they would bring more Shinkengers in, since it's recent, but I guess we'll just have a quick cameo. Takeru probably, since the red always shows up and even though Kaoru is red, it's not the same... |

Episode 10: Wow, they really put some effort into the class system within the Zangyack Fleet. Nice to see some of the Gormin and Sgormin get some development before getting offed. GokaiYellow becomes Big One? I didn't think I would ever see one of Hiroshi Miyauchi's characters wearing a skirt. ShinkenRed next episode...kinda. This finally proves that Kaoru counts as a seventh Shinkenger, though. :D |

11 I wasn't expecting a two-parter. While I really wanted to see the whole Shinkenger gang, Kaoru more than makes up for it with pure awesomeness. Still wish to see them even a little next ep. I thought they would hold the info about Barizorg being modified a little longer, but Gil just put it out there. And they had a good excuse to make the enemy retreat while they were winning. In fact, it reminded me a bit of Shinkenger's kaijin without water... Finally they used a kaijin that gave the Gokaigers a hard time. But I wish they use the keys that were defeated by him against other enemies later. They have to win with those keys too. The battles were awesome. Worthy to be called a Shinkenger episode. The choreagraphy was neat and they added a lot of SPFX without making it too wire-fu. And better yet, they had some action without transformation which is always nice. Finally, there was the battle theme which was kinda cool. I'm definitely going to watch it again next ep So, we'll learn how Joe and Marvelous met. I wonder if the tens are going to show how people joined the crew before the sixth comes. |
