I've watched the whole thing in English so I'm used to the dub. What I've seen from the sub I like also. But if we were voting I'd go with the dub, can't get over how much I love Sabat. :)

I Love both Versions Dubbed and Subbed.
But subbed has got more violence and Blood and swearing whilst Dubbed cuts most of that out unless you get the Uncut Versions.

Subbed is more for Adults.

DBZ is the only anime where I'm hesitating to choose. Usually I watch only subbed, and mostly even fansubbed anime. However, the translation of DBZ is just very well done. It's not very exact, but it's decent and done apparently by real fans of the show.

And I do mean that about the current dubs/subs that's being sold right now. I once watched a couple of eps with some ancient fansubbing, it was horrible beyong imagination. Don't remember which saga it was (Namek Saga perhaps), but Vegeta was powering up and cursing something fierce, but all what the subs would say were 'Aaaa!' and 'Fuck!'. That was just ridiculous.

I mean, if you're gonna swear, do it creatively! "Have you lost your mind, Kakarot?", "Blast you, Kakarot!" and "Shut up, clown!" do it for me, but shouting "Fuck!" seven times in a row just doesn't cut it...

Now I don't mind the fact that they gave Goku a girl voice, but geez did they have to give him a nails on a chalkboard voiceover actor. Her voice is just not pleasing at all.

Like for Naruto, the girlvoice fits, because it's a nice, good to the ears, good fitting voice.
But for Son Goku, awful. The male voiceover for Goku in the English version is much more fitting, not because it's a male voice that would be a silly reason, but because the English voiceover brings out his nice, gentle nature much better.

Plus the American English soundtrack is much better. It captures the mood much better and makes it much more epic while the Japanese soundtrack is just a yawn.

On the other hand, the English version has loads of silly dialogue which is just cheezy. As with a lot of dubbed animes. Plus they edited out a fuckton of stuff. In which you really have to go out of your way to buy all the "uncut" stuff like it's all hip and cool. And plus the English version cut out quite a few episodes.

There's ups and downs on either side. But overall I think I prefer English dub on this one. And I'm a person who usually prefers Japanese dub.

Old avatar and sig retired for now.

Dubbed because of the nostalgic factor, and Goku's Japanese voice is kind of annoying. Plus Vegeta saying "It's over nine thousand!" and Piccolo saying "The balls are Inert" sound so good in English.

I like the FUNimation dub or Japanese with subs, although I really hate the Ocean dub and I'm not overly keen on fan sub.

I have never seen the Ocean dub, so I'm gonna have to go with the FUNimation Dub.

By the way, I have only seen/watched DBZ in the form of the Digitally Remastered and Uncut DVD Box Sets from FUNimation Entertainment.

I am currently waiting for a specific person to upload Season 7 in Dual Audio MKV Format.

I haven't seen any of Ocean's dub, so I'm gonna go with FUNimation's version.

Either version is fine by me, but I tend to go with the dub more since it brings back many memories from when I watched this as a teenager. Both are very well done, one of the few series that really caught my eye back in the day. ^_^ And still holds that same feeling today.

DUBBED...because thats what I grew up with and basically it rocks because funimation doesn't slaughter its anime like 4kids! Grrr XD

Also the dubbed version has such brilliant moments in it like:

Vegeta: "it's over 9,000!!"

or

Goku: "I am the protector of the universe, I am Goku! a super saiyan!!!!"

or

Vegeta: "tell me, does an android like yourself feel fear?!?!...ARghhhhh"

...ahh the good ol' days.

Subbed, mainly because in the Funi dub the deliverey sounded forced compared to the JP version, the musical score was over the top, not to mention, they had altered most of the Japnese script to make the series in English more kid-friendly. For example, Gokuu promised the old Kaioshin nude pictures of Buruma, not a kiss.

Also, the entire female cast, Bejiita and Trunks sound better to me in the Japanese version. The only voice in English that I thought surpassed its JP counterpart was Laura Bailey's kid Trunks. I also kind of liked Mr. Satan, Yamucha and Piccolo; I thought Sabat did a better job of voicing the latter two than he did Bejiita and his delivery sounded more natural.

Dub - I mean in the original funimation DBZ the acting can be bad at times especially from Goku and the added lines are dumb, like Frieza trying to trick Goku to tie his shoe laces when he doesn't have any, the hell? But after that they got much better. The music by Bruce Faulconer is freaking awesome!
