Why Mr fullswing never gets an anime adaptation and whatever happened to the author?

So i understand that Mr full swing is a comedy baseball manga in jump that ran from 2001 to 2006 and has 227 chapters and according to this forum i found in another site : http://www.narutoforums.com/showthread.php?p=51067518 .

It says it is considered a 'Big Success' and we know that every 'Big success' mangas get adapted into anime but this one 'Mr. Fullswing' didn't and it made me wonder why it is never adapted into an anime series despite having too many chapters and is considered popular.

and about the author Shinya Suzuki I understand he was an assistant to Watsuki Nobuhiro, the author of Rurouni Kenshin.

But after he made the next manga series called Barihaken which lasted 4 volumes an also made a manga adaptations of a video game called Cross Treasures.

He just deleted his blog and deactivate his Twitter account as he if doesn't want anyone to get contacts from him ever again.

The last we heard of him is that he made a digital manga for Jump Live called Kichiku no Kikuchi-kun (鬼畜の菊池くん) Before he never make another manga series again and disconnects every social networking sites like the blog and twitter ,I wonder what ever happened to that guy.

^This is probably the reason. We know that anime only serves two purposes:

1) Advertisement for manga
2) Advertisement for manga merchandising

If it really was such a success, it may not have a need to boost sales by wasting money on an anime adaptation.

It was already a popular manga but it never turned into an anime why?

Not popular enough for evening/morning long-running anime which cater to general teenager, not mature/otaku-pandering enough for adapted into latenight anime which cater to nitch fanbase.

Yes,but that still doesn't explain why it didnt turn into anime and what are its reasons?
