Found this at a local comic store:

LOL, the pages are flipped so its read from left to right. (Which I find myself finding a hard time with, cuz I'm used to right to left)
Also its only 1 chapter of the manga, and its 2.75$ xD For like 4$ you can get a whole manga magazine... I think. Way to go viz.

Also, its from 1993. LOL. Score.

I have/had a ton of old manga in floppy comics format. Back in the day that was the only way to sell them. Comic buyers really did not like trades and it's hard enough to get the average comic buyer to read something in black and white no less backwards to our standards. That pricing was pretty standard for manga/independent comics of the time. Remember they were an even more niche product in 1993 then today.

Just a few titles I can think of off the top of my head came this way:
Blade of the Immortal (the last of the manga to still be printed in floppy format, this only ended a couple of years ago)
X/1999
Bastard!!
Tank Police
Ghost in the Shell
Ghost in the Shell 2
Chrono War
Lone Wolf & Cub
Cutey Honey '90
Oh My Goddess!
Drakuun
Outlanders
Ranma 1/2

There are many more, those are just the ones I can think of.

I find it weird when certain manga have to be read from left to right. Every time I read manhwa, I have to remember to do so though.

Older mangas released in my country are all like that. I believe it was back in the 2000 that they finally stopped flipping the manga, probably because manga had become more well known and they know that it was suppoesd to be read right to left.

Some series are still released in the flipped format, for example The Walking Man from Ponent Mon and Tekkonkinkreet and MW from Viz, even though other series by all three authors have been published in their original format and by the same publishers as well. I wonder why they decided to flip those series in particular. It really does ruin the authenticity, especially in Tekkonkinkreet where minor details such as which hand Black's scar is on have been completely reversed.

Nice. I have a couple flipped manga as well, mostly pokemon, X/1999 and Inu-Yasha. It's so weird reading them though, even though I'm perfectly fine with normal books and comics.

Back when I was in high school, I was friends with a Japanese exchange student and was giving her a ride in my car. I had the flipped version of Magic Knight Rayearth sitting on the backseat (this was back when all manga were flipped) and she picked it up and started looking at it, and essentially said "Oh hey!! I've read this!!......OH MY GOD IT'S BACKWARDS."

And I did lol. XD

The Akira and Sanctuary volumes I have are flipped. It doesn't change the story but it is strange to see the characters shaking hands and holding guns with their left hand.

Sometimes I have to read from left to right for the manga I read online, not too often though.

Every once in a while, when I read a normal novel from Canada or US, I see myself flipping the opposite direction, although I notice it instantly.

In my country they also started with flipped manga. I don't know for how long, when I started collecting manga most of the new manga were released in the original format. But I still have some flipped manga like
Ranma 1/2
Sailor Moon
Sailor V
Gun Smith Cats
Oh My Goddess
Mermaid Saga
Cardcaptor Sakura

I don't have problems with the reading direction itself. Once I'm in the reading flow it doesn't matter if it's from left to right or from right to left.
It's only irritating when everyone is a left-hander or when special marks on a person's body are reversed.

Maybe they started with these series when it was common to release manga in flipped format and wanted to have consistency? I think that's the reason why Oh My Goddess is still published flipped where I live.

Nope, The Walking Man, Tekkonkinkreet and MW were all released as one volume in 2004, 2007 and 2010 respectively. Although Tekkonkinkreet was originally released as three volumes in 1998 and I think the 2010 release of MW is a re-release taking over from the 2007 version, but that it still very recent nevertheless.

Oh man, that takes me back. When I started reading manga it was right in the transitional stage where most things were still flipped, but a few things were starting to be published in their original format. I think that was around 2000.

I've gotten rid of all my old flipped manga which I kind of regret now, but some of the stuff I remember collecting was Battle Angel Alita, 3x3 Eyes, Oh My Goddess, and a lot of other fairly bad '90s series that are no longer popular/known.

Oh, that gets so annoying when I go back and re-read the old tankoubon of Ah My Godess my library has, which were published when Dark Horse practised flipping...

And then when I decided to re-read the whole series and get caught up, and I was laazyy and just searched for scanlations...they were flipped too. wuuuuut.

I have a couple of flipped Pokemon volumes. And I read a volume of NGE flipped like forever back. If I pick up a flipped manga, or even just a manhwa, I get so confused. I'm so simple V___V

I worked at a comic book store for some time and I would switch up reading manga and comics all the time. At first it would be a bit confusing but after a while you get used to it. Like changing console controllers.

Yes, Ranma 1/2 is like this... I wondwe why from the beginning it was flipped that is should be read from left to right... Japanese is from up to down (Don't know how to say) or from left to right. So why is it the opposite of the writing direcion?

But for me it's comfort able because I'm used to read my language from right to left (Unfourtunatly, it's rare to find mangas written in my language...)
