I don't think that this banished type cliche is irredeemable, but god are they lazy at writing. This one is no exception, it's like they made a plot-line and followed it without ever spending a minute more thinking that bare minimum. Not the most awful show this season, but it still goes to the trash bin.

Just another show where the mc is such a spineless wimp that it makes you physically ill.. 🤦🏻‍♂️. I simply can’t believe the chain of command in charge of picking which stories do and don’t get greenlit for anime chose this dumpster fire. There are literally THOUSANDS of other stories out there to choose from. Good solid stories with with sophisticated and intriguing characters. Instead we get a guy who’s such a wimpy puss that he’d probably high five a guy after he assaulted then killed his mother and sister in front of him. I can’t even mention the irritating “Tsk” sound he made multiple times as he was badmouthed and kicked out of the party.. I’m know I’m being overly harsh but come on.. someone in the industry over there needs to step up and stop crap like this from being made. Or at least have the mc come with any semblance of a spine.. PLEASE

we first had "banished from the hero party.." in Oct 2021 then we had "the healer who was banished from his party is.." in Oct 2024 this Oct we have another healer banished from his party.
this pisses me off because there are so many AMAZING top tier anime with no second season. and there are wonderful mangas with million readers that never got an anime , but somehow this garbage of a story always gets an anime ????? WTH
who decides these things ?

Yeah, a pretty typical prologue for an anime that’s essentially the same as the previous season’s Scooped Up by an S-Rank Adventurer, featuring the usual isekai overpowered protagonist who’s kicked out of his condescending party, joins a humbler one, and probably gets revenge later on.

Or maybe he’ll just stubbornly refuse the condescending party’s repeated pleas to rejoin after they realize how useless they are without him. Probably one or the other, since anime like these always end up that way. Not that exciting, but I’ll stick with it for the time being, I guess.

Genuinely curious why this banished from the ___ party subgenre of fantasy became so popular in the last few years, every fucking season we get one of these and they’re just blending together at this point 😭 same old dumbass party leader kicking out the most talented person in the party for no logical reason, annoying dickriders in the party who gas the leader up and look down on the MC, annoying mage character etc etc. They’re not even trying to differentiate these.

Only watching this for two female leads because they’re gorgeous and the OP bangs. It will be funny if the Prince dies because either 1: Leni is an opp or 2:Leni ripping up the information Alec wanted to give the king leads to him not being informed of something that could save his life.

Unoriginal and unfortunate I kind of understand why he was kicked out of the original party. He wasn’t performing. Was he helping with support magic, sure, but that doesn’t seem to be what his party asked of him. When you don’t perform your role you get fired. Are his previous party mates awful? Yes, they are stuck up, classist, jerks but what happened was deserved.

Oh noooo, main character gets kicked out of his hero party because he only knows some kind of support magic, so he starts his own party with old and new comrades to prove his previous party wrong... wait, where have I seen this exact plot point again? Right, this type of show quite literally happens every season now.

Seriously man, what is Takashi doing directing a show like this. Dude really got nothing better to do, does he.

@IzanaSolos tbf, he knows other magic but his teammates are wack so he's gotta boost them lol. at least there's an explanation this time

Even by enjoyable trash isekai standard this is horrific. The MC isn't even oblivious or edgy. He's just a baby that can't complete a simple sentence. I enjoy a lot of bad stuff but he just made my blood boil. His party are right to banish someone with such little backbone.

This show works fast, which is a new change of pace. I don't mind not seeing our MC learn magic for 4 episodes straight :}

I had to move it to Monday, but no way was I missing Gekkou’s new show this fall, which is the first one since fall last year. Their last couple of shows were a bit underbaked, and I say this as a big fan of the studio, I still liked them but I know these guys can do much better, and would you look at that, when the studio gets time to cook, they really do, because you can immediately tell this is one of their nicest looking shows yet. It’s just unfortunate that the plot of this show is a bit cookie cutter, like how many times have we gotten one of these “banished” stories lol, and really there wasn’t anything super unique beyond that either as of this first episode.

But with that being said, I still liked this quite a bit, I think the reasoning for Alec’s banishment here is pretty interesting, like it wasn’t said exactly why Alec was only using support magic but what I gather is that the prince’s party isn’t strong enough for the floors they’re tackling, so Alec was forced to continuously cast support magic on them so they wouldn’t die, if that is the case, I imagine we’ll see them crumple upon the realization which will be pretty satisfying. Meanwhile, Alec has rejoined the party he left to become a court magician, for now we only know Yorha and she’s quite cute, I like her already, and the last moment of the episode teased us with the other party members, I look forward to meeting the rest of them, it’s kinda refreshing to see another guy in the party too so it’s not just a poorly disguised harem lol. Also, the backstory with Eldas was pretty wholesome, I wonder if he was banished for a similar reason as Alec, maybe we’ll find out eventually.

And that was a nice OP and ED combo, aruma being an artist I’ve never heard before (looks like this is their first anime song), the visuals were rather simplistic but the song was really good.

I wish they would do something different than the now generic

"kick out of party" + "MC is a support"

Can we at least have MC be something else that wasn't a Support Main? lol... (like the past 4 or 5 Kick out of Party... is all MC started as Support but is secretly overpowered or was meant to be other classes)
