like fixing and tricking out electronics or electrical devices, shit like that

tell one of your stories here and post the pics if you feel comfortable

I like to heavily mod game consoles like xbox and restore old stuff, many times making replacement parts from scrap
my favorite amplifier is one I found broken and rotting in a junkyard
95% of the board components and the VFD had to be replaced but it's been some my best audio equipment for 10 years now

Film development. I've mixed raw chemicals to make black and white negative/positive developers, handled C41 lab chems at home, and even did some color slides. Super heavy push processing and expired film were two of my favorite things.

If I had the money to spare again, I'd happily do it again.

EDIT: One crazy idea I've been sitting on forever was to, using black and white reversal plus color filters and red/blue/green toner, make color slide film from black and white film, basically recreating technicolor... but more poisonous! Just by making a red-only slide, a green-only slide and a blue-only slide, then with careful alignment putting them into a single slide holder. Bam, full color! I still have the chemicals on-hand, even the carcinogenic ones! :D

I know enough programming syntax that I've made my own game mods before. I once reverse-engineered a dead Skyrim follower mod to work with the DLCs.

@Daviljoe193
I know nothing about photography but diy technicolor photos in this day and age sounds like it'd be pretty dope
I'd read recently that the kid from the neverending story made a career out of some primitive as hell 19th-century photography method
in either case, more retro is always good

here's a simple but fun one
my shitty Best Buy stereo splitter broke one day so I made a superior one from a cheeze-its box
then I burned out the voice coils in my computer speakers from playing anime too loud, but fixing those is another story...
