| Use Postimages, or ImgBB (for pics with frequent traffic) https://postimages.org/ https://imgbb.com/ This is the closest you get to traditional imgur quality, with a site that has been around for a long time. Imgur has been going downhill for years. Many accounts were deleted in their big anime purge. Their AI deletes the fuck out of everything. iirc there was also some lame Russia/Ukraine war protest thing they did too affecting their Russian users. Can't stand when sites have to mix virtue signaling with their services to neutral users. And they never email their users about these problems or answer support. Last but not least, there was strong evidence for a massive security breach that wasn't addressed publicly. But your UK block apparently has something to do with age verification laws in the UK so it's not really their fault (maybe?). They probably don't want to deal with the hassle and I can't blame them it's still a business. All this bullshit. PROTECT THE CHILDREN!!! Yet look up United Kingdom on Twitter and.. lol  |

| I used Imgur to host most of my SFW anime screencaps, as well as my signature and avatar. Would've really appreciated at least some advance notice from Imgur before they pulled the plug. Will likely switch to Imagechest now. Of course, ultimately Starmer and his Great Firewall of Britain is to blame for this. Realistically, the only solution to hamfisted, unilateral censorship acts (e.g. the "Online Safety Act") being passed left and right by our government is a revolution or a military coup. Voting or signing some ineffectual petitions on official government websites has had a precedent for changing nothing, much akin to an injured impala limply struggling as its set upon by hungry wild dogs. |

| That's unfortunate. I also read that UK told 4chan to either abide by its bs rules, or geoblock all British IPs lest you be fined by the gov. That seemed pretty backwards to me. If you don't want your citizens reaching a site, tell your ISPs to block it yourself. You don't get to fine a platform based on another country because they don't do your job (restricting access) for you. |

| I'm not from UK and it has been blocked in my country too since a few months ago, I tried imgbb as replacement but those images don't always load on MAL so I just use imgur with VPN now |

So it's best to use imgbb for either images you're not going to look at frequently but want to save like one time posts on a profile OR (maybe) images you'd be viewing all the time if you'd take that risk. so ye my recommendations for uk users is to use free vpn like proton or cloudlfare or psiphon

| It was never great as in a leading world model or anything, but what is with the seemingly accelerating disrespect and disregard for speech rights and internet privacy in Britain? And the equally seeming public acquiescence and apathy to these policies being railroaded through?
