All history has to do is happen" - Harry Turtledove There are so many moments in history that if you were to write them as fiction you would get bombed with 1 reviews for not being realistic, the reason is because humans are irrational beings. I could go on and on and list examples but sometimes people do things that are really Black and White in terms of Morality, Irrational, Weird, Deus Ex Machina that causes solutions to magically appear, and so on. And if you put this in fiction you would get bombed with 1 star reviews. But this all happens in Reality. When you try to be Realistic in Fiction you have to go on and on about how every single thing this character did was cause he sucked on his mother's left nipple instead of his right nipple, be all Sigmund Freud with possible reasons why they are the way so its all Morally Grey the way they are like there is a REASON behind everything they do when sometimes a cigar is just a cigar. You have to make it super convoluted for them to find the answer to their problems, you have to make the most unlikable character likable. Fiction has to be realistic or else it gets 1 star reviews while life gets to be unrealistic. |

| I mean, no matter how much video games or movies try to make things realistic, it's never going to be 100% true to life. You have to have some fantasy elements whether it be how much damage a person can take, how far they can leave etc. |

| Well it's more down to the fact we are all products of our environment and experiences. Your reality is different than my reality. That is why "internal logic" not "reality" matters most in a story. Still....the average writer in this industry could use more "reality", even if it's a subjective take on reality. |

| I don't mind if fiction is realistic or not, I only mind it if you put actual armor or other protective gear like that, which is cut by even a knife like it's nothing... In that case there's no reason for such protective gear. Yes I just want to brag and put on some events, you should already expect that from me x) Well I do agree on if you would put historical events as fiction it would be bombed or said that there's no way something like that would happen, out of my mind I have 4 examples of such events, probably would go for way more if I would go into researching all the stuff but these 4 examples should be enough, first I'll give description without context and than say which historical event it is with wikipedia page if someone would like to know more [and if someone is way more interested, in wikipedia you'll find more literature]: 1. Imagine a medieval battle which was "changed" or rather happen where equal forces of 30 knights with their squires would fight each other to conclude the winner, probably audience would tell that there's no way it would happen. 2. 56 postmen armed mainly with pistols, one anti-tank rifle and 3 machine guns, fighting for around 12 hours protecting their work place against around 180 soldiers, paramilitary soldiers, police fully armed, with 3 armored vehicles and 3 artilery crafts. I guess people would ask why the postmen would be fighting at the first place? 3. Around of up to 240 soldiers with little equipment fighting and defending their positions against around 3.5k soldiers, supported by a battle ship, torpedo ship, minesweeper, couple of artilery crafts and a 60 dive bombers planes, attempts of burning the forest nearby, attempts of bringing flamethrowers and many more, the fighting was for around a week. I guess the people would say that it would be done within an hour by such numbers. 4. At medieval times a woman being crowned as a King. The coronation of Jadwiga of Poland -> https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jadwiga_of_Poland#Coronation_%281384%29 And the 2nd and 3rd have not only photography taken but also there are actual footage, instead of giving the black and white, I'll give below for 2 of them the remastered by a special chanel which uses some software and AI to give colors into historical footages, probably some sounds were also added like that, unfortunately for ya, the narration is in Polish but the footage is most important. The 3rd even is from start to 1:50, while the 2nd event is from 1:51/1:52 up to the end of this short video. Edit Oh I just got reminded, remember the armored train in Attack on Titan?
