are you having problems reading simple sentence kid if yes read again I said "SFX" OR SOUND EFFECTS they are not related in any way to one piece world or story it's sound if anybody puching that should be sound like punch if it doesn't it's not good understood kiddo !?

you watched "samurai champloo" even you have in your favourites so it's SFX is realistic and very very good and this is from 2004 and still better than today's one piece think about it

and in one piece's case SFX is not that awesome and it's repetitive very very repetitive try to listen to foot steps of character you will lower volume if you know what's Good SFX sounds like, you know what go to youtube search worst SFX in anime and there will be one piece on top then search Good SFX listen and come back !!

Well, their sound design is 25 years old and hasn't changed much.
It's fine as it is, but good sound design would make One Piece even more enjoyable to watch.
Voice acting is top tier(JP of course),
everything else sound-wise is average.

| Yes the actual sound effects are bad. They haven't changed since 1999, which is practically unheard of in anime. Toei can obviously afford to compose new sound effects but they're either being cheapskates or they believe that the current sound effects are nostalgic. Either way a lot of things about One Piece are out of date. |
| I don’t think they suck, I think they’re just simply dated. They’re using the same sound effects that they have been using since 1999. At the time these were decent, but anime has developed to a point where the sfx are a lot better than they used to be. Toei is still using the same ones, so in comparison to what’s coming out now they’re simply not that good. |

| @Loaf_dontcare I may have misremembered it, but I did find someone who also thought Toei mentioned something about upgrading their SFX, but it might've just been for the Fishman Island remastered version. One of the One Piece animator did criticize Toei's SFX team few months ago for their bad and outdated SFX though. |
