Well, first off, I'm really glad something was announced on Kaguya after all this time. It's been a few years since the movie ended and there's been nothing since then except for leaks about a possible sequel and approval of a sequel.

What would that even be? Perhaps the most obvious option is a TV special that wraps up the anime as a whole. All the people who have read the manga have one question regarding the poster, why the hell are the last chapters of the manga depicted here? And really, does it make sense to do a sequel with just the ending? No, but it looks like it does, it looks like this issue is going to skip BUCKWALLY half of the manga and jump to the ending for the sake of the ending, if that's the case then it's going to be a mind blower and a real spitball to the fans, although that's not surprising considering how Aniplex likes to wear out their creations.

But there's still a little hope that this is a special, preparing us, the viewers, for something new, maybe even a sequel. The originality of the special is hardly worth considering, as Aka Akasaka has said that this story will not get a sequel or spin-off, but I hope that this is some kind of joke and that we will get what we've been waiting for.

If it's a time skip special it would remind me of Masamune-kun's Revenge with how they released a post ending special for manga readers and then eventually went back and continued the adaptation. Not that it's guaranteed here but it was an odd choice in that case as well.

Yeah most likely...

Yeah pretty much this.

This tv special lterally the WORST news...

I knew S4 isn't coming soon as the main production team behind it just did Makeine and doing it's S2 next. So it will be late. I am happy with it even if comes 3-4 years later or even if it never happens. But this literally am insult to fans. So disappointed...

Yes, it really is... It's sad, though.

I was excited at first but after reading a little bit about this as well as talking to a friend who's a manga-reader, what the fuck are they doing. Who the fuck asked for this. Who thought this was a good idea.

@WaterMage the manga gets aimless after the movie. I believe it's better to wrap it up. It's just downright impossible to have a faithful ending cause it had no proper ending anyway. I would rather have an original ending than the abysmal drop of quality like the manga.

@mshfqtny ah no. Aimless where? The second couple got ample devolopment while never neglecting the main ones. Yeah the ending is over the top but that doesn't take anything away from it. It absolutely isn't impossible to just follow the source material.

You hate the manga it's your thing but this ABSOLUTELY doesn't need a og ending.

I've personally put the series in the past after reading the entire manga, so I'll take any form of animated content.
I do feel bad for anime-onlies who won't get to see the Kaguya Retrieval Arc, even if it had mixed reception in the manga.

Screw Aka. I hope he gets what he deserves. He ruined Oshi no Ko to spite us because we didn’t support Love Agency. It got axed and he didn’t want to continue Oshi No Ko. He then spent 6 months focusing on creating a new IP instead of Oshi No Ko. He left Mengo out to dry.

@certifiedbinger I'm still not able to do that; the ending was terrible! A new anime-exclusive ending would have been perfect.

Idk about terrible, but I wouldn't expect any big changes or original content.
This is probably gonna adapt a select few chapters to finish off the anime for good.

It's really gonna be a shame if this is how they decide to end the series, skipping basically 100 chapters, lmao.

Wouldn't be that surprising to me. From what have seen so far, A-1 picture tends to make very questionable decisions sometimes.

Let’s be honest, late Kaguya manga is a hot pile of garbage with a meaningless plot, this way they can at least make something meaningful out of this last arc and say their farewell to franchise. I absolutely love all previous Kaguya anime but good riddance.

I don't understand this news. By the look of the KV, it looks like it goes straight to the last arc (which wasn't that good) and skipped the last decent one (you can understand it by
)

@0451 If we go with the timing, we can speculate that all this is intended to somehow clean up his reputation after the scandal with Oshi no Ko last year. But even without that, if they really are going to repeat the Neverland S2 move, it threatens even greater reputational losses.

@mshfqtny I never thought that all this debate about whether Doga Kobo would dare to change the ending of Oshi no Ko would end up with its mirror version with Kaguya. Either fate really hates Aka, or Aka himself loves to mock his audience.

This is the most disappointing fucking news ever. I hate adaptations that skip large parts of the story. The anime was a phenomenal adaptation, and they're just gonna ruin it? I know the Kaguya Retrieval Arc is controversial, but this is taking it too far. The Game of Life chapter will never get adapted, and I am fucking PISSED. I am so depressed by this news, why the hell are they doing this? I'd prefer no special at all at this point. I'd rather wait a decade for Season 4 than this shit cash-grab.

Chill. They might still adapt most of the rest.
Aniplex messed up their management for Kaguya Sama. it's unlikely that they are this stupid to skip 100 chapters of one of their biggest IP'S

People are overreacting. Yes I wish we were getting something else, but the fact we’re getting SOMETHING is better than nothing. Also, we don’t even know what it is yet. No reason to jump to conclusions.
