I've been wondering this for a while. I assume after the anime releases less people will read the manga because there is no need anymore to get the whole story. On the other hand more people might get interested in reading it after watching the anime, especially with the official English releases coming out now. What I'm really interested in is what will happen to the score. As of now SBR is the second highest rated manga on mal, but will this stay the same? I feel like if the anime is bad people will rate the manga less too, or the other way around, the manga might get an even more 'legendary' status. But if the anime is good(probably) will people still read this and think of it as such a good manga?

Personally I think the manga will get less popular, like how right now most people watch up until part 6 and then continue the manga but don't read 1-6. I do think the manga will stay at a higher score, just because it's the original if that makes sense?

Idk. I watched first 1-6 then read 7-9 and read 1-6. Just like part 6 was popular for a moment, part 7 was also and now time for part 8. But I don't think bad adaptation of the part 7 would make the score lower.

I do not believe in the possibility of David productions making an adaptation that lives up to the manga. even if they manage horses correctly, I think the manga will be always the best version, considering for much the artwork evolved from when the serialization changed to monthly.

Really depends, Part 6 anime proved that Jojo will not sell simply on name, and airing format really matters.

I’d think that most people who are still watching JoJo’s are fans, so I doubt the manga would take a hit regardless of the anime’s quality. On the off chance that it does, I doubt it would leave the top 5 on this site.

It's the seventh part of a franchise, so I don't think the anime will affect the manga's score that much, considering only dedicated fans and maybe a few curious people will watch the anime.

Do you even realize how hard it is to animate running horses in a race? More than 60 companies had been brought in to help finish the animation work in LOTR anime movie, which is all about horses.

Don't expect this to get an anime any time soon.

Honestly I don't really think the horses matter that much. I know it's hard to animate but in every jojo discussion it's just brought up like jojos will take years longer or not come out at all just because of the horses. yeah they're hard to animate but enough other animes have them too and it's jojo's so they're not going to wait years longer.

I think sbr will probably release november or december this year, or maaaybe in the first quarter of next year.

depends on how good the adaptation is.
but yeah, the manga score will probably be higher than the anime score no matter how well its adapted

As others have mentioned, I don’t think the anime will hold up relative to the manga. But with something to compare it to, many people will now disparage the story as a whole due to the poor quality of the animation, and the high esteem of the manga may negatively impact people’s views of the anime in turn. I hope they do it justice but I don’t know if that’s even possible in the current seasonal landscape. If they keep production costs high then maybe just maybe it will turn out to be an amazing adaptation. We can only hope, but I don’t expect it to turn out good in the end.
