| A thread inspired by my most recent cringe behavior (joked in Discord about stalking another user and got a warning from @Zettaiken). But has any of you actually had to deal with online stalkers before? Was it on MAL or somewhere else? I’ve had to deal with a weird guy here before (no it’s not about @PeripheralVision this time around). He would send me unsolicited walls of text in private messages about his life problems and would tell me about how similar we were after digging up old forum posts I made. I ended up ignoring him, and he eventually started insulting me until he deleted his account. That’s the closest thing I’ve had to a stalker around here. What about you? |

Not much to it, other than that the mods have been fairly on-top of keeping their thumb on him. I only did it because I was already reporting his every account the second they were created, so why not harass the serial harasser as well? |

| Btw I wasn't the one whom deleted messages x) Me personally thankfully not, but my buddies did, my online buddies were doxxed many times but the worst happened to my one buddy during Highschool, as he had on facebook publicly liked a certain football club [European football - Soccer] and the hooligans fans of the other club which is an enemy to my buddies favourite club back than stalked his profile. Memorised how he look like and few dudes just waited whole day at the entrace waiting for him, followed him a little bit further outside the vicinity of public area and just jumped him and kicked the hell out of my buddy. |

| Yeah I stupidly befriended an ultra-depressive guy on PSN. He just wanted constant reassurance but it was never enough and he didn't seem to actually be interested in any advice I was giving him or was wanting to change, like he just seemed to want pity. He even stuck a notif on me (which you can do on PSN), so the second I came online he started messaging me again. It became very draining. In the end though i just ignored him, I really should have blocked and deleted him, but I'm pretty sure he's still on my friends list (unless he deleted me?). So yeah... didn't like it. |

| Yuri Crusader stalked me on MAL and reported every single thing he could (reviews/recommendations) after I added him to ignored users list because of he posts a huge yuri image in every comment which is pretty annoying to scroll through. |

| Not really, back in the 2000s I had a group of people that just shared all my posts on another website to laugh at me, but I dont really think it counts as stalking because it was just because it was a small forum community and we all saw what everyone else posted. But beyond that, not really. I dont think Im that interesting to beging with, I guess that a bless for these situations. | Way back when... I was in a discord server with some MAL people. I had a smallish friend group and we were the target of bullying from another discord server. If anyone remembers Dizzy, her and I have very similar bodies. Well, I'm a silly goose and had my spotify attached to my Discord which had my full name... SO! They made multiple account for MAL using different fake email addresses, uploaded my facebook profile picture to MAL using it as their profile pic, named the accounts all varients of "(first name)(last name) IS A WHORE" and then would comment Dizzy's nudes on other people's profiles, claiming they were mine. Freaked me out for a couple reasons, 1. I don't need my full name and face calling me a whore spread around MAL. 2. I was convinced for a while that they hacked my camera and that Dizzy's nudes were mine. Had to beg whoever tf the ring leader was (Can't remember name, he's been banned for ages now) to not fuck with my family since I was scared that was the next step after blasting my face all over MAL. |

| Yeah, I had one person cyberstalked me on MAL creepily, this weird person even went far to make multiple accounts and make random friend request (this was back in 2019 though they already stopped by now). I did the most logical action to them a.k.a. block and ignore. Just don't give them attention, not worth of our time. |

Then I bring you home and badly break your arms and legs to render you motionless. You're then stuck in bed and dependent on me to feed you but also for getting painkillers. If you do anything that make me think you might rebel, you don't get any. Since you don't get any cast, your limbs become badly deformed and you then can't move around efficiently, rendering any escape impossible. If you still try, I then break all your limbs yet again. We are then happily together after and have many kids conceived exclusively from the cowgirl position. Like, great... you found me in real life through some extremely hard work and a flawlessly executed plan. Now what?

They will eventually get bored and/or leave me alone, so no point to worry about stuff like an increase in profile views when I'm more or less active. @LunarPurrs: That sounds very appalling! If I understood you correctly, things are alright now and there is no trouble any longer? And yes, I do recall the person you've mentioned. We had briefly written with each other on some other site during the time of the Malocalypse, but after that, I haven't seen them anywhere any longer. They were pleasant to talk to and seemed quite genuine. I also recall that they posted in some thread a selfie including their username on a handwritten paper in the photo. Wonder how they're doing now |

| I had an ex in 2022, he installed an app on his phone where he could see my whatsapp messages by taking a pic of my QR code, whatever. I didn't have a password set on my phone at that time. He had a feeling I was cheating on him with my previous ex and indeed, I was cheating. |
| Sort of. Not really cyberstalking, but someone was impersonating me on YouTube. They made an account with the same profile picture and name (this was before individual @ usernames) and going around to other people who subscribed to me and saying some awful things. No one believed it was me, thankfully. However, this guy was obsessed with trying to make me look bad. He had his own channel that performed poorly, while I had around 20k subscribers at the time (now over 60k), and I was doing well. Jealousy, perhaps? But as a guy who has been a teacher, has dealt with children/teenagers with bad attitudes and bullies, I was not an easy target. Not only that, I was able to find out where he lives, what his name is, and how old he is (he was 15, living in Melbourne, Australia) and I could've notified the authorities about his unlawful activities. When I stopped responding to what he was doing, he stopped, as he became bored. Now, you can't impersonate anyone on YouTube because each account has a unique username that cannot be duplicated. |
