Casual Discussion Atlantis state building event - 5 year plan (stage 4)

We do your cosplay events, but they fall under Nur2.0, so all of the SKBC and anti-Haruhiist propaganda comes in.
Also would you be interested in taking charge of the Atlantis-chan thing? I forgot about it honestly, but why don't we use it for Nur2.0 and spread some good Atlantian nationalism. If it works out, I may be willing to consider working further with you.
Any thoughts here too @fleurbleue and @wizdom224?

Fair points, good work fleur. I should have been more comprehensive in my thought before. Apologies as well for the overreaction, I saw "Chinese puppet" and dismissed it without consideration.

While I would prefer Euro or American equipment, if the politics aligns to China, then we may just have to make do with China. I do think we should hold off on any military bases for now. They may deter the Brazilians, but we should very cautious about foreign armies moving in after what happened with New Brazil. Although the distance may allow us to maintain more independence than if we went US. I also have my doubts about "The West is afraid of China" talk and I do not think we should base our security on it (given Commit controls this thread, I could easily see "NATO Invasion" in the cards even if that wouldn't happen IRL). I cannot imagine we would be able to work with Raytheon for long before this plan since Uncle Sam is very protective of military stuff, but we may be able to get some tech and smuggle it to the Chinese. Plus all of the business know-how from the RTX guy. I think our eventual goal should be self-reliance when it comes to the military so we do not have more conflicts.

While we're on the topic, do we have any thoughts on Belt and Road? On top of no military bases, I oppose leases to China too, but if they helped with some infrastructure that would be good for our plans. Since they work in Africa, we might be able to get in something (although I'm not too familiar with the program so idk.)

Tomorrow would be better for me. How much longer do you think we will do this Commit? This is fun, but I also kinda shot myself in the foot by taking a leading role while I am so busy. The low-effort map thread worked out much better with my time than this LARP.

@fleurbleue iirc UAE and Iran are both members of BRICS... yeah... I am a big third world enthusiast but even I cant pretend BRICS is some sort of an alliance, even less a military one. Yeah that's part of why I was iffy about China. For all the huffing and puffing they and Russia do, their global military presence cannot match the US. By the time something would come around to us, the US would already have their carrier groups bomb us back to the bottom of the ocean. And that is if they cared, which they don't because they can't even control SEA.

Also I now realize what you were up to. That's why Bento dude came out of nowhere. I just thought you made someone up yourself because I gave the navy to the New Brazilians. I just wanted to give the Brazilians something cool to do :(

Well we freaking have a Wendigo, a cyborg dinosaur, and draugrs in Atlantis, but now suddenly China becoming our ally is too "unrealistic". It feel like the story is already on a predetermined rail and @Commit_Crime just didn't want us to deviate from it.

if you want to walk into a trap, its the GMs job to let you. I am fine with letting you have BRI infrastructure tho, at least there is a plot reason for Atlantis to have some roads

That'd make no sense at all. NATO won't move their ass unless we try to invade a NATO country. And if Commit_Crime really did something like that, it wouldn't be much fun since the opposition often have minimized roles during wartime. If the head of the state is the leader of the party with more seats, then @gongasniya would have his ways while we can't do much.

But at this point, we all decided to align ourselves with China, but how much exactly? It's kinda unclear. Should we ask to be added to the BRICS? They are kinda desperate to have more members so our candidacy would probably be an easy thing. We could then create trade agreements with all of the others BRICS countries. We would only be yet another BRICS country, which would still allow us to do business with Raytheon, but we would also deepen our ties with Russia and China. And with a little luck, Brazil won't invade another BRICS member. We could then spend money on new military bases, new training facilities, and start an international recruitment campaign among all BRICS countries. What do you all think?

@gongasniya I'm pretty sure @Commit_Crime said the events for Stage 5 are already decided though, which will include Brazil invading us apparently. I just hope it will be a "peaceful" occupation and not a "we loot everything and rape everything that moves" kind of occupation.

Then a part of the colonization process would be to have them adhere to our standards of modesty and wear shell bras. Since they are in the ocean bikini wear is socially acceptable for being beach adjacent. Plus it would improve our economy with shell bra sales which could fund separate endeavors

@Nette I'm not sure they will take it kindly to be forced to adhere to another society's morality standards. And mermaid society doesn't even work with actual money so they wouldn't have anything to pay you with. Must they also forcibly be introduced to capitalism?
