That arc alone is why I put at 4/10 took me 2 months to finish and had me remove hair from my head with the leap in logic the arc go through.

Chimera Ant arc was fire though ngl. Mereum is not of my favourite antagonist OAT but I like the phantom troupe arc more then the chimera ant

The only problem I see from the arc is how dragged on it went especially after Mereum is revived (because wow that part sucked imo). Anything else? Nope, the fight scenes are the best the series gave. It was not about how op the powers are but how they are used to outsmart even a stronger opponent. The character developments alone in this arc was 10x more than any other arc in the series (yes even more than phantom spider arc).

It’s what solidified to me that HunterxHunter isn’t just any other shounen, where it focuses on just main villain and main characters. It focuses on even newly introduced side characters and makes them as good as the main characters. The main villain’s development in this arc was phenomenal, where even when he [spoiler]dies, I was sad[spoiler]. It elevates shounen genre and no other shounen replicated this arc or got even close to it.

You could see alone by what I said is that it’s my favourite arc but still Yorknew city arc is a close second for me. I know why some would see it as the best one and also see why some may dislike this arc.

So is it overrated? No 100% lol

"I didn't enjoyed it"... isn't the definition of overrated.
There are a lot of people who are praising it to be one of the best arcs in anime and there are some who didn't enjoyed it. It's fairly rated.

it's one of the best of the best arc ever created !
even if you take other animes
I really get goosebumps and chills by thinking about it..
creation of something evil from scratch 😧
ants are the smallest creatures we see everyday and the way think operate in their nest is unbelievable, think abt it 🧐☝
and also the way it devours and evolves thts wt makes it more powerful than humans.

To see why this arc is so important, you need to see the elements this arc is trying to say. Elements such as fear, evolution, morality, revenge and more. Bloodthirsty monsters that has no morals vs humans that are losing their morals in order to defeat them. And monsters that are discovering that there are things more important than killing. This arc is not just action. This arc has much more than that. Maybe watch it again some time later and you can understand it better.

Either this is a rage bait or there's something wrong with you, Chimera ant arc is peak from start to finale, the amazing character development this arc had, the impactful scenes, the tension and drama built up that puts you on the edge of your seat, the compelling villain - Meruem, the fight scenes with beautiful dynamics this arc has everything which you could desire from a show.

By the statement that this arc is way too long, I recommend watching some 12ep rom-com that would cheer you up, I think that's an exaggeration that this arc is overrated, imo it's perfectly rated, as compared to its previous arc i-e Greed Island and Yorknew city those are also really great but not on par with this one.

I think the Chimera Ant arc is the best arc of Hunter x Hunter. The intense moments of the fight and storyline were the best. Hunter x hunter power explanation has gone to a great level when it comes to the Chimera Ant arc. Humans have to fight with some creatures it feels different from those who watched HxH from the first episode.

Chimera Ant arc has both many haters and fans of it so I don't think it's considered overrated.

Personally I love it since it has nice worldbuilding, tension, plot, and fights.

Since haters always be hating and lovers always be loving I don't think I need to explain in detail why I consider it a very great arc :

My favourite arc of Hunter x Hunter is chimera ant arc. I did not know until now that it is over rated. This arc is so close to my heart because of the ending the main antagonist got, it was so heart wrenching . Ar the end of the day we should remember that overrating comes with expectations you are putting on it.

Bruh are you dumb, oh yeah you are, the reason a show is considered great is the way it's presented, how impactful it is and how much the person enjoyed it, this arc has all the elements which makes the viewer astonished, the enthralling narrative is the cheery on top, with the person wanting to eagerly watch the next episode.

The reason you couldn't grasp the concept of the above explanation was your lack of brain power, I clearly pointed out the imp factors this arc has but you couldn't comprehend it.

It’s true I respect all opinions and I have no right to judge what someone else can like or not but if u remember what that guy said, he said the main antagonist (Mereum) looks like an NPC which is a flaw. Like hello and he said it is too long which I have no idea how. The pacing was perfect start to finish

thats so real bcs its so long and boring, only good thing about it was the characters introduced but their only purpose was to fight and igs sucb a waste. i love hxh so much but when they introduced this arc i had to take a couple month break before i could make myself finish it

i think there are mixed opinions on this arc cause the people who really like the show also really like the arc, and can sit through eps and eps of slow mo and narration, and there are people who cant stand that. personally i think its a completely mess of writing, no coherent story and the characters make no sense, and the finally is the most disapointing when the king of all chimera ants, the strongest nen user die to some silly radiation, i have a ton more problems with this arc but cant be bothered to list them all. drag down the overall quality of the show alot for me but the rest was still good enough to compensate for it

This arc is great but it's a bit too long. I remember I was 10 episodes into the assault and only 30 minutes have passed in the anime, all I saw it's a slowmotion and the narrator talking for 20 minutes straight. Also, the Nen system lacks because everyone has JoJo stands for no reason (imagine you are trying to explain in detail how a power system works for 100 episodes to just break your own rules)

Love Hunter x Hunter but I have to agree. Going into the series it was the most hyped up arc. The anime pacing for it was so slow though. I've heard the manga does it better, but for the anime it felt like I was watching a modern One Piece episode with how long it took for little things to happen

What? No. This arc by a landslide has the most peaks and the best moments out of the entire series as a whole. Also got the best character moments with awesome narration too. Some people say it’s dragged out which is understandable but at the same time, it has a great conclusion with the best fights too. Highly disagree.

Yeah I agree. Its a bit overrated. Dragged out, avoidable deaths and gon rage scene. These were my major complains. Apart from that, the suspense it created was actually pretty good.

If you enjoyed the time you wasted, then its not a waste of time.
