I don't know much about this and I'm curious what you think.

The fact that the studio is taking their time with this gives me hope, they waited a year to announce a second season and now they don't even give any specific dates. I think one of the most common reasons why second seasons of anime usually have much worse animation is because the studio wants to squeeze as much out of the franchise as possible while it's at its peak, they rush because they're afraid the franchise's popularity will drop, idk you can correct me if I'm wrong.

If it's done by the Fukushi production line, which I guess it likely will, considering Madhouse is still the studio for it, then definitely.

We can only wait and hope for the best, though.

The first season set the bar too high. I still expect above average animation, way better than something like One Punch Man s2 but not on the same level as s1.

I think it's also a matter of "why put so much effort when fans of the first season will watch it anyway and haters won't watch it anyway". No matter how much money you have, the amount of top tier key animators isn't infinite: I understand that they'd rather work on a brand new anime that could potentially catch a larger audience over a sequel that only fans of the first season will watch.

Then of course it takes time to reassemble the same core staff for a sequel, so time is indeed an issue if the production committee can't wait.

It was insane animation, as someone said it isn’t crazy to expect above average animation because of the high studio’s reputation and overall importance of this project.

Either way I always make sure to appreciate great animation because you never know if the sequel will have the same quality…One punch man, Blue lock, Jujutsu kaisen…

1 rookie mistake in these types of production is that the studio doesnt rush or whatever, but the production committee gives an unreasonable deadline for the reason you just stated. Unless, Studio has a strong say on these things, like in the case of Frieren.

So yeah. I believe that Fukushi will be the main production manager for this season too.. Madhouse just got to stand their ground and say no to any pressure thrown at them by the other members of the production committee (I'm just inhaling huge doses of hopium with this part)

@V1P3R0P fukushi is an animation producer just for correction

animation producers are by default the one that gathers the main staff of an anime project

and animation producers are the kind of producers that are employee of the anime studio

People talking about Fukushi, and for good reason, but forgetting Takashi Nakanome as well. He has connections with staff that usually only work with movie productions.

If it's the same production line and they get enough time, then definitely.

I saw some people in the comment saying that "People will watch it anyway so it probably won’t be has good" and yes if you look at this on a business stand point it’s true, but I believe It depend on How much the studio give money to the team and Who is on the Team.

Also I'm a little apprehensive about this. It will all depend on whether it will be the same production team as last season.

i think they have to ,cuz they don't have any popular project with them rt now, and frieren is a instant mega hit , because not only its ratings but fans ,it's huge now ,if they don't bring in tht quality they'll gonna ruin themselves soo bad.. !!✌

You don't have an option in the poll saying "it'll exceed it," which I think is likely. So I'm not voting. Biased poll.

i think it's a good sign that the mangaka seems to be taking a break in order to focus on the anime.

Depends on how stuffs from season 1 are joining the team. Specially if the Director doesn't change, the quality will be indifferent. Then again which agenda is working, we don't know. It's likely to decrease the production quality as MADHOUSE IS STILL THE MAIN STUDIO.

I have already watched all 308 episodes of season 2 and it is every bit as much of a masterpiece as season 1.
