Alya Sometimes Hides Her Feelings in Russian
| Ep.1 was fun because of MC trolling Alya Ep.2 was great because of imouto and more trolling Alya The anime would’ve stayed great if it sticked with that wacky comedy formula. HOWEVER, the author felt the need to write something bigger. So he started writing boring, serious plot (muh student council election) that’s been done hundreds of times in other series already. The trolling stopped and Alya became just another boring tsundere. And the MC, who was previously introduced as otaku nerd JUST LIKE YOU, turned out to be a secret chad who’s just hiding his power level this whole time because muh traumatic past. He also happened to be perfect in every metric. You might as well switch him with Ayanokouji at this point. Agreed? I can't be the only one who thinks this |

Well, you can't write a whole of volumes filling just a girl fawning over a guy in Russian, who also understands all of it. Tbh, that whole russian shtick just died after her confessing in Russian. So, now we get this whole family + student council drama. Just enjoy the animation and VA, that's what I here for tbh.

So taking the serious route with trying to develop her confidence through the student council elections is bad cuz it’s been done a bunch of times already. But going the goofy trolling route is good even tho it’s already been done a bunch of times as well? If you don’t like this direction that’s of course fine, but it’s not like the parts you liked were new or original either.

| I think this series fell hard the second student council got involved and turned into lame as cringe drama series. As you, I enjoyed Ep.1 was fun because of MC trolling Alya moments. The only reason I enjoyed this series from the beginning. Now it's gonna get a mediocre score when it'd done though.Ep.2 was great because of imouto and more trolling Alya I started dropping series that falls flat after 4-5 episodes but thought I'd give this a chance. |

It’s a great school romance with the added bonus of a few time bombs lined up to liven things up as we go along (knowing Russian, Yuki being sister, who was mystery kid he learned Russian for). A realistic MC complete with confidence and sarcasm, a female lead gaining confidence thanks to support of entire friend group, good comedy, surprise pantsu… what dropped off? Your attention span?

Understandable I guess, but I have the opposite viewpoint in that it started with bait to draw in ecchi fans and then settled down to actually tell a good story. I don’t mind ecchi, but this seems better without it tbh. But should any more occur, I won’t be looking away like a gentleman ๐ง

Just wholesomeness. That being said, it all comes down to taste. The LN is wild, though. The anime took it up by a few notches. And also the irony of them skipping a particular (ecchi) scene which was supposed to feature in the latest episode. Oh well. |

Yes the first volume is big bait and I'm sad people look at how the story goes by comparing it with the first volume / the 4 first episodes.

To summarize, it's a full-on ecchi scene where Masachika hypnotizes both Alya and Masha via a book that specializes in hypnosis. Nobody thought this would actually work. It proved to be effective, and Masha went... well... It's better left unsaid. Back to the stance, Roshidere isn't centered around uncalled for fanservice or ecchi. The rest of the volumes still have them, to some extent. It's a story about struggles and hardship, about fortitude. How the two main characters help each other in overcoming their respective drawbacks; how Masachika tries to rectify his sense of low self-esteem and depressive mindset, as well as his relationship with his mother. Alya acts as a catalyst in his case, benefitting both of them as an emanation. While it has its wholesome and comedic moments, it is important to realize that, that's not the focus of the story. |
