I have to rant a bit about it. It’s an incredible movie but it’s so different from what I vividly remember people describing it. The story was different, the ending should’ve been way sadder, the meteor implication was different in the story, while ending of course should’ve been different; the way people used to describe the movie and hype it up made me believe all those things would happen but it turned out so much different then I expected with really impacts my liking of it. Still a very good movie don’t get me wrong but my hype for it really died down when I realized the movie wasn’t going the same direction I was ‘spoiled to’ the past 7 years I’ve been wanting to watch it. So yeah, amazing movie but I’m really disappointed by how different it was in my head.

If there’s ever been a near-perfect anime this is it. I shed a few tears 2/3 of the way. Such a beautiful story and amazing artwork. You can’t have perfection, but you sure can get close.
