| So apparently, Shueisha has legally filed for a trademark for the manga Kagurabachi with the intent of use in "anime production", "pre-recorded media and video files containing animation content", and more. See here for trademark. Click display all items in the list when you translate the webpage, there are many things that regard animation and its creation process. In Japan, companies pay quite a bit of money for trademarks. Since Shueisha has paid money for the trademark, legally speaking, there is no turning back. Meaning Kagurabachi will get an anime adaptation announced maybe sometime this year or early next year. Shueisha has done the same previously with Oshi no Ko, Look Back, Kaiju no. 8, and other shows and movies a couple of years before they actually air, so there's a chance we may see an adaptation some time in 2026 or 2027 if nothing is announced this year. This does not mean that an adaptation of the manga is currently in production. | @deg @Rammelbips If they announce the anime next year, the manga may have 60-70+ chapters out by then, should enough for a 12 episode anime. It's also the only manga in the Oricon top 10 that doesn't have an adaptation |

| I would assume an anime won't show up for a while yet. Maybe when the manga is around chapter 110 unless they'll just adapt full arcs with hiatus in-between |

| MHA's anime first got announced when it was only around 65-ish chapters in, so I won't rule out the possibility that something similar could happen here. Who knows, maybe they'll want to make a big spectacle out of it and not announce an anime until next year's Jump Festa, by then we should be well past the 100 chapter mark. |

That was 10 years ago. It seems these days they won't start an anime unless the manga is past 100. It's for the better. Less time in between seasons in theory
| @DayRivia Yea I don't expect Kagurabachi to get an anime announcement at not even 70 chapters like MHA, that case with MHA is definitely an outlier. Black Clover, JJK, and Demon Slayer didn't get anime announcements until 90, 80-something, and 110+ chapters in, respectively. I'm expecting the same for Kagurabachi (and hopefully not a Sakamoto Days type case where that anime announcement didn't happen until well over 150 chapters in). |
