It's fucking dumb you can do all of THAT, but showing a nipple is too much. Regardless, it's against JP broadcasting laws during "family" hours.

I heard for onimai a big reason is global standards. If it does show them it can't air in as many countries. Thus less merchandising too globally. On the bright side, the series has some good hentai and fanart.

Like... there's some recurring sexual subtext and yeah, the last season had a lot of focus on rudeus's ED. but that was more focused on his struggles as a character than as straight horniness. This show has so much other stuff going on, I find it strange that the sexual content is constantly focused on. It's not a very sexual show, especially comparing it to anime on a broad scale.

It’s actually the norm in Japan, I’ve watched so many animes with no nippled characters. Take Todo from Jujutsu Kaisen for example. He’s naked all the time and you can’t see his nipples

It's not a matter of being funny, you wrote "isn't it strange not to have shown nipples until now." So I wondered, why does he find it strange? Is it because of the story or the animation? And I came to two initial conclusions.

1- Showing nipples is relevant to any story, so narratively it doesn't make sense, it doesn't change anything in the story so there's no reason for him to find it strange for not appearing since it doesn't impact the story;

2- The animation is very good, the last season is okay, and the lack of nipples doesn't make it worse, especially since the girls' breasts, generally underage in the first season, are not the focus.

So I came to a final conclusion that the only place where this kind of thing makes a difference is in hentai, or in +18 series that choose to be as realistic as possible, even though Mushoku has many adult topics, it doesn't try to address the sexual part so explicitly, so if this bothers you, it's advisable to stop watching and seek entertainment on other sites, at least that's my opinion.

@yStellae @DragyG plenty of ecchi anime show nipples and they are not considered hentai or porn. For example these two anime from last season that I was watching: Mahou Shoujo ni Akogarete and Kekkon Yubiwa Monogatari
So it's normal for ecchi anime to show nipples. They are not considered hentai or porn. This being said, I don't think showing nipples is required for every ecchi anime. I just simply found it weird that MT has never shown nipples while watching the first episode of this season of it, because I had forgotten that in previous seasons they also never showed nipples. I still think MT is a good show so it's not a question of quality or anything like that. I get a boner while watching MT regardless of it showing or not showing actual nudity, so the creators of the show do a good job at the ecchi department even if they can't show the nipples and have to skip the sex scenes.

I'll say it again, 'Mushoku Tensei' doesn't focus so much on the explicit sexual part, this ecchi thing seems more like something to lighten the mood and make it funnier. It's not necessary to draw the nipples of the children that appear in the first season. Even the +18 scenes that appear in the first part of the second season, which are already related to older characters, don't show nipples because it's not good for the anime's image, after all, it airs during prime time on Japanese TV. I only agree with you in one situation: if you've followed the web novel, you must surely find it strange because the scenes there are much more obscene. However, there are other works that show things like that and are not hentai, I can recommend some if you want. A good example is the manga 'Berserk'.

people don't go and watch anime for the n+des or fan service. they watch it because it is something enjoyable.
the top ranking anime and in their positions because of the quality of their stories, characters, originality, etc.... not for the nudes (I have seen a lot but not all of the top rankings yet, and though their might be a etchi scene here and there, that is not the point behind their popularity....)
and like you said, for most of the scenes in anime that would show a nipple or something, it is censored one way or another...

The ecchi of Mushoku Tensei is very light, especially in the light novel and manga adaptation, the anime increases this aspect a little in compensation for the original.

If you're expecting any scenes with nipples or explicit sex, I recommend finding something else to watch.

@spicarie Which is weird, this anime needs to have at the bare minimum an "Ecchi" tag in it, this one checks all the boxes I expect from an "Ecchi" anime.

I think it's a nice anime, don't get me wrong, but I can't recommend this anime to my brothers or my family because of all that "Ecchi" stuff in it, I know they will be disgusted by it.
