| nice to see Henry standing up for himself. Like I get from the mother's pov bringing in a foreign girl who doesn't speak the language/culture, but also nice to see Henry's dad choosing what's best for Henry instead of what's best for the family |

No. She will lead you astray, and if she did not, it would bring you great sorrow come Judgement Day to see her parted from you. It's strange that the father doesn't seem interested in his son's spiritual wellbeing either. I'm guessing Smith is eventually going to head back East. He can't stay at Mr. Hawkins' lodge forever without wearing out his welcome, and his book money isn't going to sustain him forever either, and his wife is a foreigner who won't mesh well with the locals. She could stay inside with minimal interaction and would probably be fine, but Smith seems to be eager to go out and do stuff. Maybe they will become agents on behalf of Hawkins' business venture. |
