Oh, new OP. Nice.

Freaking hilarious that Sonoko just yoinks and rummages through Subaru's bag, lol.

Very obvious off-brand reference to the Olympics here, and the littering problem that's exasperated because of tourists...Pick up your own shit, people! From what I hear from people who've visited and live in Japan, the standard practice is to take (and keep) your trash with you on your person until you're either already home to throw it away, or if you see a bin along the way such as in front of a convenience store. It may be inconvenient, but it's the reason why Japan's streets are so much cleaner than ones in western cities (generally speaking)...hence Sera's comment near the latter half of the episode "I hope they take home both the idea of bringing their trash home with them, and a piece of Japanese culture as a souvenir". Bit of a digression here; speaking of Japanese culture, even pre-pandemic, it's standard practice for people who catch the cold or flu to wear a mask as a courtesy to not spread their illness to others around them if they need to absolutely need to go outside...Too often I've gotten sick from coughing people on public transit who don't stay home, and nowadays I practice mask-wearing during flu season years before the pandemic was a thing. This is one piece of Japanese culture I hope stays (at least during flu season).

I would absolutely love to buy one of those nice-looking tote bags. Looks super useful for daily use, and very fashionable too.

- One of THOSE stories when you think "Okeeey, maybe someone putted something in my tea, I feel dizzy.". It went all over the place.
- My guess is that this episode is a promotion for the movie and the fake Olympics are the main event in it.
- Next time back to the manga adaptation: the Nagano Snowy Mountain Villa case.

It’s a filler but Sera shouldn’t be in Agasa's house because Sera meeting Haibara is a big deal in the main storyline.

Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet will be available simultaneously in 23 countries and regions across Asia and Europe. Other than Japan, the movie will also air in Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Brunei, Thailand, Vietnam, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, France, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Kuwait, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia

@Kennedyb unfortunately, based on the information above, it will not be available in Florida. It should be available in my country exclusively in VOX Cinemas but there’s nothing about it in their website or social media accounts. I usually wouldn’t miss it, but I can’t so I’m planning to wait for the dvd release. I suggest you check with all the known theaters in Florida and inform them that you’re expecting the movie, hopefully it will become available later on and before the dvd release.

Funny filler this week, and can't wait for next week's case! I'm actually surprised that only 3 months have passed since the last case from the manga, usually it takes more than 3 months to have a new manga adaptation.

Quite the 'standard fare' when it comes to prologue episodes to a movie: a childish, dull, and especially pointless filler mystery; some guest appearances that have no bearing on the plot of the aforementioned case (Sera takes the cake in this one); a very tiny connection to the theme of the movie (here the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games); and finally a cliffhanger to encourage the casual japanese audience to go see the advertised movie.

Not a particularly compelling episode in my book, but I guess this one was way more bearable to watch than some of the previous prologue mysteries. The case was incredibly boring, and strikingly easy to figure out on your own sure, but there were some amusing scenes here and there I suppose. I kind of enjoyed the little interaction between Sonoko and Okiya: it is always nice to see Akai not being his usual "tropey" self, while also reminding the audience that this lackadaisical guy is the 'real deal'. I liked that, it reminded me of what worked in the Bourbon arc.
There is anyway a conversation to be had on how filler episodes could be much more interesting if they used 'guest characters' a bit more often. Not constantly using them mind you (that could become very tiresome in the long run), but at least seeing them from time to time. That could break the monotony of these random badly written cases. Not that the detective writing would be much better of course, but at least we would not have to watch another dull '3-suspect'-case with the usual trio of Kogoro, Ran & Conan. This series has such a great cast of characters, it is a shame that the anime is never really making use of them outside of your standard manga adaptation episodes.
Plus, I do not think that seeing Heiji, Sera, Okiya or even Amuro for that matter in a mundane filler case would ruin their characters. That is what the Tokubetsu-hen Conan manga has been doing for ages anyway, and it works rather well in it.

Still a pretty mediocre episode nonetheless. I for one cannot wait for next week however: it is great to see the show 'already' being back to some manga adaptations, especially since we are speaking of a great serial murder case.

Finally get to see this. It was originally scheduled for last year, but was postponed.

Nice lead up to the movie. It is going gangbusters in Japan right now. Wish I could watch it. Same OP but with new sequence? Nice! They even threw in a blast to the past reference to the first ending.

Find it somewhat funny they can't mention the Olympics. WSG World Sports Games. And the symbol they use for it. But hey, I get it, if you want to mention something big like the Olympics in stuff like this it will cost money.

Nice idea on Ran's part. Since there are going to be more people going to Tokyo for the Olympics this year (maybe), I wonder what they will do to keep order in Tokyo while this is going on.

Next few episodes seemed to be adapting some chapters so that is wonderful news. Haven't had an adapted episode since January. Kinda rough but oh well.

花屋さんは大変になったようだね。ちょっと天然ボケですよね。やはり、真犯人は猫だ。おっさんは「目がいい」と言いますか?冗談ですよね。おっさんはメガネをかけても(笑)。
Notice: I read most manga in Japanese now so I'm not sure where you can read in English. Sorry in advance.

A very simple mystery, with a cute, cheerful conclusion, as well as some nice visuals; I wish more filler episodes were this way, not just the "special" ones (like this one that serves as an introduction to the 24th movie)!
