dub is okay in shippuden, not as good in OG naruto. I'd say sub is better for the majority of it, tho some of the dub lines are really good

Sub, no brainer. Pain, madara, itachi and kakashi ect voice in Japanese have to be heard. 👍

I personally love both the dub and sub. I do think certain moments in Shippuden sound better in sub but dub has its moments too. I’d say give a couple episodes in dub a chance and some in sub then decide which you prefer.

I’d say if you want to watch dub then do it. I think the voice acting for the English dub is actually really good for everyone in naruto

I watched dub so I could watch the show while not fully paying attention since I didn't have to read. It helped make watching the 700 episodes more bearable.

Hearing Pain in dub, that alone makes it worth it lol. But both are good of course.

Sub. The dub is annoying, not to mention sometimes inaccurate about how it translates certain dialogue.

I think the dub is completely fine, even counting the original Naruto.

I feel like people take too much of a dump on dubs. Nowadays, I definitely trust Sentai more than FUNi for minimal tampering, but other than that, I go off the "watch an episode of both and decide" and honestly, I have been begun to notice sub can have familiar voices too.

People always say "those same twelve voices" in dub, but fact of the matter is, we just know the language and naturally we can spot them out better. Once I began to understand Japanese better, I could hear some similar voices. They definitely have a wider range of them, but that didn't stop me from recognizing some over time.

Other than that, they're quick to point out script changes. What dub doesn't do this? Though I will admit Kobayashi had some very dumb ones in its dub and I will never forget the horrendous "GamerGate" line from Prison School. But thankfully, script changes are genuinely trying to be adaptive a lot of the time and not changing the context. If I had to note one more, probably also watch Nichijou in sub. The type of comedy it goes for just makes the most sense that way. And the acting is far better.

Speaking of, another is inferior acting. More common in the earlier days, though I do miss a handful of English VAs who retired during the era of "anime is for kids only" and never got to mature with the industry. And sometimes, a voice may not fit. I understand this one a bit more. But I feel like a lot of dubs have pretty good acting. I am used to seeing it in action, drama or just more story based ones a lot more than any other genre, but they are trying. If you want an in-depth video on this, Nasu has a great one on YouTube called "Anime Dubs Aren't Cringe, Anime Is" that is worth checking out.

Overall, I feel Naruto is solid in dub. I actually prefer it that way, key word "prefer" as to say I don't think the sub is bad at all. Sorry for the rant, but I grow tired of seeing people bash dubs for the same reasons. And as I said earlier, try an episode of each to decide. If you're impatient, change the language multiple times in one watch.

honestly go for the dub especially if you like anime villains. Naruto dub feels a lot more nostalgic and closer, i watched the first few eps both in dub and sub, the dub voices you'll really get attached to and if you wanna enjoy the fight scenes the dub is obvious, I noticed there is a dialogue in one fight scene only in the dub which was so hype! you don't wanna miss it

For Naruto/Naruto Shippuden, I watched Dub. But, then again, I watch most anime in dub. Sometimes I will switch between sub and dub, just to hear the iconic lines like "Yowai Mo" or "Dattebayo" but other than that, I am more of a dub watcher. I just can't follow the subtitles like every else can and actually see the anime, cause of how fast it goes. But Naruto and OPM is way better in dub, in my opinion. But whatever is comfortable to you, watch it in that way. 😁

I prefer to watch in dub because I have watched it in dub by 2x speed so I can complete it in less time so I can see fillers to and do other work

All depends on what you prefer. I’d say watch one episode with dub and one with sub or watch the same episode twice in dub and sub, see which you prefer. Personally I prefer the dub, but the sub is decent

Watch the Rebuild of Naruto. It's a complete narrative retelling, structuring the story better, as well as eliminating most filler.

just watch in sub and dub pick what you like best in your situation just know that not all ovas are In dub I prefer dubs due to how good it is and that I tried subs but it's hard to watch the action and read fast without going back 10 secs to read again.
