I first watched it around 12/13 and loved it I would probably still like it even now after a couple of years. I would recommend it but idk about waiting a full year. are you putting it off because you think your to young or you think it’s just not that good? Because I can confirm your old enough and it is quite good if you are fine with or like harem though it’s not all harem.

No, not really. It’s more of an indicator of what content is inside, to help make the decision easier on the parent. If it says 18, they won’t buy it. Funny enough though, Season 1 and 3 are rated 15, but season 2 and 4 are rated 18, so it’s up to you, but if you’re buying it physically, you might be asked for id depending on how young you look.

Yes, there’s an R18 rating because some scenes are basically soft core, it’s definitely ecchi, so that’s why.

Do places still sell physical copies of anime still? It might be because I live in a village, but even in the big places around me I've only ever seen classics on shelves.

I guess OP might have more "restrictive" parents than I did growing up. But if it's a parental thing, I've never known anyone's parents not let their kids have something that has a higher age rating when it comes to games or movies etc, unless youre 6 and want something like GTA V lol.
