| I absolutely hate everything about S1. It's one of the worst anime I watched, all characters are terrible and Thorfinn was the worst. On the other hand I love S2. I only watched the second season because I trusted the random people who said that after the prologue the story was very different. I love Thorfinn now and I have no enemies at all. |

What's worse is that the fight scenes aren't even good, they're so unrealistic, Thorfinn fights and runs like a ninja from Naruto, and there's that strong guy who fights with a freaking tree. I started watching Vinland Saga because I thought it would be a grounded and more realistic historical anime and was deeply disappointed with S1. |

| I say this: both seasons were different and had their pros and cons, depending on what kind of expectations a viewer had had before watching them. It can't be denied that both were really well done and polished, from the technical point of view. I personally enjoyed S2 more. |

| I like both seasons for different reasons. Season 1 was definitely the most action packed and had Askeladd. But season 2 blew me away with the character development and world building. Thorfinn became more fleshed out and mature. He went from being a cold-blooded warrior out for revenge to a humble young man going the pacifist route in the name of peace and love. Hot take, but I absolutely love the slow pace of the farm arc. Gave more time to introduce new characters and set the scene for the entire series. Both of the series have their strengths. |
