there were a lot of very strong scenes that could have been shown this season (backstories of characters, hard hitting dialogues), but instead they were cut out entirely and the new directors spent a lot of time focusing on the sexuality of Rudeus, the elf girl, Erectile dysfunction, etc. It feels they mistake the audience as hrny teenagers that just want to take their pants off before watching their show. But in reality we just want to watch this great source material animated as a good show.

Imagine if this show had no fan service at all. I just feel it's a missed oportunity to improve upon the existing source material and make it even better in animated form. Just focus on the good hard hitting stuff, that's all we want to see. The books and the show do that well, but we don't want to see the weird creepy 30 year old man fantasize about little girls or long drawn out scenes where people are copulating or thinking about copulating. No one liked that in game of thrones, and no one likes that in mushoku tensei.

The change of director definitely is noticeable in this regard.
Since in season 1, this uncomfortable fan service was fairly short lived and not the main focus compared to how it is this season when we're already half way through and the main plot is Rudeus' one eyed monster and how it can't grow big anymore.

It seems like you haven’t actually read any of the novels and actually don’t know what was skipped, just mad about the “fan service” for some reason

I haven't watched the new episode, but I hope that isn't the case. Cause there is so many good diolouge that I really enjoyed from the LN. For example, when rudues is talking about his past life and saying that if he was able to go back, he would thank his brother for trying to help him. Can't exactly remember how that part went, but I still remember it a little. it hit hard. I hope they keep a lot of those good moments in the anime, whether it be his monolouge or his interactions with other characters. I don't mind the fan service, and tbh there is a good amount in the light novels, but it was brief. So far, though, I'm pretty sure the anime is following it pretty well, and it hasn't skipped any good moments from what I can remember, though. So the fan service really isn't a big deal.

at the end of the day it’s a business, they’re just appealing to the fan base, which will get them more traction. if the whole story isn’t hurt by it, then they don’t care about a few scenes if the overall idea can be understood.

Literally nothing important was left out, though? If anything, they’re fixing the pacing of what’s widely known as Mushoku Tensei’s most boring arc.

Not bad, mind you. Just a slog, which for Mushoku’s standards, unfortunately makes it pretty much the worst arc (since everything else is so amazing and perfectly entertaining).

Not having the main girls also hurts lol. For the better or for the worse, Silphy just can’t compete with Eris and Roxy.

Point being, the anime is just fine. If anything, it’s easily one of the best novel adaptations ever (mainly season 1, but this season remains great).

Plus, you’re mad angry about some eroticism for someone with a Sagiri profile picture.

I havent read the manga or LN but the way I believe it is that the arc with counter arrow is completely irrelevant and no one cared about it, so most of it wasnt in the anime (or manga). The reason the sexual parts were needed in the anime is because thats the whole motive for him needing to go to university for the university arc.

I think.

I don't know what LN you read but the one I read has lots of sex

No one said there's less sex scenes in LN. They said that they cut some of the other parts but left all the sex scenes in the anime so the new studio puts more emphasis on so called fanservice than, for example, on the backstories of the characters.

I mean it is an isekai anime which revolves around the harem trope. It would be weird if the author excluded his s3xual fantasies since this is the norm for this genre. Not really surprising if you ask me. To a degree this could be compared to Kaifuku Jutsushi no Yarinaoshi with its themes.

The one detail that i hear the most being left out is the resolution / aftermath of Sara's arc. I hope they will show it sooner or later, since with it, it would paint a different and a more positive impression of Sara.

It's weird for me to say this but i somehow can tolerate the amount of s3xual scenes, they feel realistic to some extent in accordance to the characters' story and personalities when we compare to the usual troupes in most ecchi anime.

yea it's a shame tbh since this is one of the only Isekais that I think is good and enjoyable, can't meet everyone's expectations though cuz there'd definitely be a few complaining neckbeards if the anime trims down ecchi, Elinalise constantly getting pounded didn't feel as dragged in the LN though. I certainly agree with comment above, Sara's side of the story should've been included to redeem her character cuz she left a bad taste in anime-onlys

Elinalise is a major distraction this season so far. They don’t need fanservice scenes of her to be in every episode. They could have explained her curse during the scene where she is with Soldat instead of leading off the last one with another minute of her.

Not really OP. I'd rather they attempt to follow the real series, not twist, distort and transform it into something that it's haters like. The series is not for you if you hate a core part of it or it's MC. Move on. Why do so many people who seemingly hate the series spend so much time obsessively hand wringing over it anyway? It's almost like it has nothing to do with interest in the series and just grinding axes.
